You're first examples of imperfetto are a bit confusing because in English, there is a different between something ongoing (imperfetto) and something that started and ended (passato prossimo). My Italian professor described it best by saying that in imperfetto, the English way would end in -ing ("I was walking every day last year"/"I was singing everyday"). It is like an ongoing "camera roll." While passato prossimo in English would be the -ed form that has already ended and is clear in the past ("I walked every day"/"I sang every day"). Well, it's been helpful to us as students.
Alondra Maldonado correct! -ing in the PAST (Ex. I was running= you are describing, we are not sure whether you still run as a hobby perhaps) and -ed for FINISHED actions that will unlikely happen again (but can eventually happen, ex. I went to Rome in 2012, it is finished, but hopefully one day it will happen again)
Brava! Well done. Two corrections: Erano le due del pomeriggio... also unlikely one is screaming and listening to music at the same time, maybe you should write Tu strillavi mentre io ascoltavo la musica.
