Unless he just winged it and didn’t want to show it lol! 😅 but what I did: 1. Pull it tight like he had it 2. loosen the clamps on that end of the cable 3. feed the end back through the clamps so that each clamp has 2 levels of cable feeding through it 4. Tighten the cable and then tighten the clamps to clamp both cables together that are running through the clamp (so each clamp on that end has 2 cables that will be clamped together, 1 going towards the tree, then it loops back and goes back through the same clamp, then tighten the clamps so neither cable moves). Haha, it would make more sense with a picture 🤷😅 good luck!!! 🦮🚃
So put it up higher and it'll have more tension on the chain. The amount on loose chain from the trolley to dog is entirely dependent on where you put the main cable if it's low there's gonna be a lot of slack to reduce that simply put it higher up
One of the best simple instructions. I ordered a 100’ not knowing exactly what length I needed. I liked how I could cut the line ( being they leave one side free ) to custom fit the length I needed. Great video Sir!
I get mine as tight as I can and think that’s good. Welp, after an hour my dog has it basically laying on the ground and I can’t seem to get it from doing that.
My apbt straightened the hooks... had to get some welded closed.... and I've had those clamps fail a few times... slides the plastic off the wire and wala... dog running free
Nice setup, I was impressed until I seen the last part of the video.. Why on earth would you not only put Both Dogs on the Same cable and make the leads different lengths too??
My neighbor's dog choked himself to death. They left him outside all day while they went to work and when they came home the dog had managed to hang himself to death. Very sad. I had even went over before the accident happened and told them it looked unsafe, but they said "oh nothing is going to happen". Then 2 weeks later it did.
Well that's three and a half minutes of my life I'll never get back. Now how are you supposed to do the rest of it? If you're going to do a video you probably should do the whole thing! Ya think !?!?
As someone who is looking at this for a dog who keeps climbing fences I am curious what you see as disasterous? It looked like a great idea to me as long as I get a strong enough rope/metal wire
@@fbgmroadrunner456mine is 100ft long and the one one attached to his collar is 10ft, plenty of room to run and as long as it's not within proximity of a lot of smaller tree and bushes the dog will be just fine
I don't understand why you had most of the camera time on screwing in hooks? It's the dad gum TREE part that everyone is asking about. I guess you had to put the camera down because it took at least both hands. Tell you what. I'm gonna wait for your next video that shows exactly how it fits around the tree before I slam the crap outta your channel. If it's good, I'll subscribe!
Sorry man haven't watched that one yet but some constructive criticism is to explain each piece how they go and why. I struggled with the clamps that tightened to keep the loop of the other end bc I didn't grasp what they were. Nor did I understand why you put one stopper first, then pulley then stopper again then the additional two. I went somewhere else and they explained it in a 8min vid. No hate my way. I was at first tho. I cussed you out tbh
@swaggyfish4125 🤣 it helped lots of people, but somehow I didn't include 2nd part on 1st video. Still, i had no complete idea on what I was doing 😁 I pur a fence now and a dog door. They go out as much as they want 👍🏽
You left out the part I needed help with.
I completely agree with mark you left out the most important part
See video for more details. I added th-cam.com/video/hn7cUrlTDTg/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for posting this! My hubby is out of town and I’m determined to get this thing put up! Your video helps!
I’ll be right over
Idk for me,he made it verry simpel, fast and plenty understandable. I liked the help from the video
If u could show us how to actually fasten the other end to the tree after putting onnstops etc. That would be helpfuk
I know, right?

To all the gods old new and yet to come!! THANK YOU!!! BLESSED BE YOU!! TRULY!!
LOL!!!!! SMH.
i want to make something like this i didn’t realize it was already a thing. thanks for the video
Do you wrap the runner around the tree and tie it or tie to the hook.
th-cam.com/video/hn7cUrlTDTg/w-d-xo.html More details on this video
What cuts through the cable?
How high do you put the line?
Yea when you put the 2nd end of the line up does it tie around the tree or what? The instructions fail to mention that and so do you?
th-cam.com/video/hn7cUrlTDTg/w-d-xo.html I installed a hook on tree. see video
@@PreliminaryFilms12 ok. how did you manipulate the cable, washers, nuts and all that other stuff BEFORE you just hung it on the hook?
How is the system 5 years later?
I would like one with some tension from the cable to the dog so the leash doesn't get tangled up on items on the ground.
So put it up higher and it'll have more tension on the chain. The amount on loose chain from the trolley to dog is entirely dependent on where you put the main cable if it's low there's gonna be a lot of slack to reduce that simply put it higher up
You showed the clamps but you never showed what you did with them. Is there another video somewhere?

Great video Sir!
How easy is it for a dog to bite through it?
@@skalias815 imposible, it's a metal cable covered
Bro the whole reason I watched you didn’t show. How tf you tie off the raw end?
See video for more details. I added th-cam.com/video/hn7cUrlTDTg/w-d-xo.html
Another great video with informative 👍 content, worth my time watching it. Thank you Sir.
Good video, but you left out where you put the stoppers and each clamp.

what's that for a a Shitzu?
I get mine as tight as I can and think that’s good. Welp, after an hour my dog has it basically laying on the ground and I can’t seem to get it from doing that.
Are the stoppers needed? I did this for my GSH and in the course of 4 months, the metal of two of the pulleys was destroyed and rendered useless.
Grant Bennett mine still working. It’s an idea on how to install. th-cam.com/video/hn7cUrlTDTg/w-d-xo.html
My apbt straightened the hooks... had to get some welded closed.... and I've had those clamps fail a few times... slides the plastic off the wire and wala... dog running free
Did you drill a hole for the little hooks
no
Nice setup, I was impressed until I seen the last part of the video.. Why on earth would you not only put Both Dogs on the Same cable and make the leads different lengths too??
can you cut the line to make it shorter
Yes
Great video, well done
Looks like they were all tangled up to me lol.
Super helpful thank you!
Thank you!
Thanks man!
you left out the part about what to do with the damn large clamps

Safer to hook to body harness instead of collar for this reason. Also, periodic supervision or backyard cam is a good idea. RIP pup 😢
The one part anybody needed to know isn't in the video: what to do with clamps on open end of trolley cable...
Answer?
Spring name please .... I need this type of spring but Don't knw the name.
Please help
This really helped thanks dude :)
You didn't put in the only part I needed to see
th-cam.com/video/hn7cUrlTDTg/w-d-xo.html More details on this video
What the fuck happened at 212 u skipped a step like what I do with all hardware I just put on or after it's tight how I tie the end
thank you
Three minutes?
Worst tutorial on TH-cam... you basically just said attach here and attach here. Didn’t show how. Good job.
They were tangled😡. One dog had a short cable and one had a long one, no fair. Terrible
Ellen Ellis I added a longer cable. It's working fine since usually both are close to each other.
Bro did everything but show you what the fucking clamps were for or how to anchor them 😂😂😂
Beagle!!!😁
So does anyone know how to do it?? His video shows nothing

It was just a preliminary video
Putting metal in your tree will kill it - takes about 3 yrs but bye bye tree
Tree still alive... 😁 I'll let you know if it dies 👍🏽
Umm no it won’t lol
Depends on tree species, thickness of trunk, etc. Does increase risk of rot and expanding the wound inward
Couple of years and dog is DEAF. Sadly experienced.
This looks like a disaster waiting to happen.
As someone who is looking at this for a dog who keeps climbing fences I am curious what you see as disasterous? It looked like a great idea to me as long as I get a strong enough rope/metal wire
Potential hanging maybe? I think if the leash is long enough it wouldn’t be a problem
