days in my life | seattle, hike, tattoo, summer VLOG

Family time means the most to me. After spending 11 months (nearly an entire year) in Europe and not seeing my family the entire time, I have been soaking up and absolutely loving time at home. I grew up in Washington and it IS rainy and gloomy most of the year, but the beauty in the summer really shines through. Washington summers are the best. If you ever visit my beautiful evergreen state, come in the summer. Spend time outdoors, go on a hike, sit in silence in the sun. I'm sure you will fall in love.
We went on a hike as a family to Colchuck lake. Yes, it is an incredibly popular and instagram famous lake. But the hike is not easy. Online it says 8.7 miles roundtrip, which is pretty long, especially for beginners. Our apple watches were closer to 10 miles at the end of it. It took us a long time, because we went slow. The hike was nice, but in my honest opinion, I wish there were more scenic points on the way up. The lake is stunning of course but keep in mind its length before hiking it. The first 3.5-4 miles are pretty mild and the last mile is steep with lots of rocks and roots to climb over. An adventure with my family and I'm happy to have this memory together. As we get older it's harder to do things like this together. I am just full of gratitude looking back. Ugh I just love them so much.
Also, I went to Seattle to spend time with my brother and his girlfriend and see my grandparents again before heading off to California. I got a tattoo of some words my grandpa wrote me a couple years ago and I really wanted to show him in person. They have been a huge support system and source of love throughout my life. I am forever grateful for them and I want to spend as much time with them as I can, especially since I am gone a lot.
