I’m in New York City with a business degree and want to transition to the field as a financial advisor. What’s the best company or companies to learn the business and develop?
I'm a financial advisor,I been one for 34years I have a bachelor's in science a bachelor's, marketing no respectable firm is going to hire a high school graduate, and remember if you pay peanut 🥜 you end up with monkeys,,go to school 🎒 and finish we have to many people who think 🤔 they know everything... nc
Don’t disagree there are too many gurus. This is a profession where more learning is appreciated. Do you advocate for the finance focused degrees or generalization?
Most advisors are aging out, and unwilling to serve younger clients with lower assets. There is a huge opportunity in the field. The licensing is WAY harder than real estate, and requires more intelligence in my opinion.
While it might be true you don't NEED a degree to be an FA, if you're smart you'd only be dealing with someone who took the trouble to go get one, and a Masters is worth having too.
I’m a financial advisor. Didn’t get a college degree, have my cfa, sie, 66, and 7. I run circles around these people that stuck their noses in a book for x years. Experience over certs any day of the week. If you don’t want to work with me, good, there’s a robo advisor 25 year old FA right there with all the degrees and certs you want - but has never in his life touched a stock. Lol.
