Best if you have the probe where the contact surface is same contour of the pipe diameter then we just have to scan in the direction of the circumference of the pipe. actually, even with longitudinal scanning and ordinary probes, you can detect even the longitudinal crack. We have tried that in the past and able to detect longitudinal cracked non-mag collar.

Hi. Yes you are right. I am using the 60deg probe. This is the one that works best with the thickness of the drill pipe.
