Japan and Hong Kong available 8 seater why Malaysia only 7 seater ? What about the pro pilot system , e power , nismo Serena C27, autech ? Why the red color not available in Malaysia ?
The Malaysian Serena highwaystar is only 7 seater? Here in japan the normal highwaystar and highwaystar Vselection are all 8 seater. The Epower version are the only 7 seater. btw nice review.
What about hybrid battery warranty? Include in 5 years warranty or 8 years like honda offer?
Nissan Serena Hybrid year 2018, mileage only 28k but aircond compressor break down but need to replace new one cost RM4K, u guys think is this MPV is considerable?
Is that mean for 3 years no running cost for services?

good accommodation if you have large family to carry around or for weekend escape
I don't like the mpv style, but redesign the drivers side in the interior a bit and a big fan of the front inside.

Nice car i think 7 seat is enough for family MPV that make advantage is which family members who sits infront can easily move to backsits.
Mazda had a sedan in the 90s in North America, called Mazda Serenia (aka Sentia)
Sadly, no spare tire. Imagine, u r on balik kampung journey...after midnight, suddenly tire pecah due to metal on the road. No just normal puncture but total damage like cut by knife. Where to find new tire..? Other then this, i found this Serena give very good package for family.

its in the same class as Voxy / Noah & for Vellfire sits in the same category as Nissan Elgrand

There are dedicated aircon vents for each row. Rear seats with dedicated blower and compressor, digital auto climate control.

Looking for a car for my wife. What are in her mind, the new 508, 5008 and new Santa Fe. She prefers sedan or 7 seater SUV. Since this Serena price tag in far below preferred models above and she likes the new exterior look, then no hard to have a showroom visit.
Since the new 508 and Santa Fe are yet to be launched, we went to showroom for Serena and 5008. Both cars are yet to have test drive units but we managed to test drive 3008 since it is almost like the 5008.
Serena:
If you go for spacious MPV, you can not avoid to have boxy design. To be honest, the exterior of this C27 has been improved to look more sporty.
Pros:
1) With price tag of RM147k before insurance, you can have build in DVR with wifi connectivity, overhead LDR and touchless sliding door.
I do not consider dual rear door is a plus point for me.
Cons:
1) Take away the like feature, which is the flexible 8th seat. With less people, we can pretend to be cool by having 2 pilot seats for second row. When you want to fetch more people, you can have 8 seats.
2) Look at the video, I thought Nissan has finally improved the steering quality. Yes, it looks nicer but yet it is hard plastic!!!
3) Dashboard and door panel, everywhere is 100% hard plastic!
4) The leather seat is not so supportive. I feel that the leather seat for driver side is too soft, especially if you drive long journey. I did not sit on the rear row as my main duty will be the driver. I hardly can sit at the rear row.
5008:
Pros:
1) Nice both exterior and interior design.
2) Dashboard and door panel are soft plastic.
3) 3 individual seat for second row, can be adjusted horizontally and reclined at different angle.
Cons:
1) There is no air cond vent for third row.
2) Third row is 2 seater design instead of 3 seater where at least can sit 3 small kids.
3) Third row is really for kids. My wife is short but even push the second row seat to the front, it is still too narrow for her.
If handling and power of 5008 is something similar with 3008, where we test drove it, then I would say no way handling of Serena can compare to it.
I hope that Tan Chong can see the comment here. They should upgrade the premium feel of the interior. If you watch the review from other country (China and Hong Kong), they still remain the 8th seat for C27. 2.0 NA CVT engine really outdated. Honda Stepwgn Spada has used the 1.5 Turbo engine, same for CRV and Civic, coming Accord.
The Nissan salesman keep asked me to sign the deal and said I can not find scond MPV in Malaysia market which similar to Serena. Yes, in certain sense, for new MPV. We have many choices for recond MPV. Do not forget that we have Mazda Biante too, even though, no doing well here. I just hope that Honda can bring in the Stepwgn Spada and UMW brings in the Voxy or Noah.
