Since I was 14, I've been a total metal head. Friends said I would grow out of it as I got older and start listening to pop music and whatnot, but I never did. It started with Ratt in the 80's and at some point around 2000, I pretty much just gave up on finding new quality metal and quit listening to music altogether. Now as I'm approaching 45, I can't believe how much great stuff I've missed. I started with Nightwish a couple years ago, and have not been that into a band since hearing Judas Priest for the first time. Nightwish has led me to half a dozen other European metal bands and they all sound fantastic. If anything, most are much better than a lot of metal I enjoyed in my youth. I just stumbled on Elina Siirala tonight, and I'm hooked after hearing just one song. I feel like I'm 17 again, cruising down the road, and headbanging all the way!
kmdcompeleclct: Agree 100%! Had a long break in listening to music too. But since Nightwish in 2000 metal music has developed in a very positiv way and the variety is overwhelming. Since you have discovered Elina now: Congratulations!! Look also for EnkElination (the former name of her band) and try to find her covers on youtube. Sleeping Sun (Nightwish Cover) was the one that hooked me a few years ago. Elina is THE BEST!
WOW NOT BAD ! :-) Angel Nation is one of the Bands where i hope that she are in the future maybe one of the best Bands in Symphonic Metal Genre ! The Album Tears of Lust is a good debut !
Muse Nw Yes i know it ! But in my opinion, Leaves Eyes should have taken another Singer. The Voice of Liv Kristine and Elinas are very much the same. At Nightwish, for example, the Voices of the three Singers are very different. I hope she creates both Bands. I´m already looking forward to the end of October :-)
