DQ St. John island overnight fishing / Eging

Its been awhile since we fish in St. John’s island . Few of us decided to make a overnight trip. Weather was good but fishing wasn’t.
But we still managed to land a few squid. Most importantly, we enjoyed each other’s company.

Can I check how we should check for aji like you did in the video? I'm starting to do ajing, and I've tried to cast my jighead into the tamban/small fish schools at BJT, but have failed to catch any aji-related species over 2 sessions. Is there something I should watch out for whether the fishes are under, or any other conditions?

Current direction is one of the main factors. Always cast against the current.
Ajis r normal in the lower Column.. let ur jighead sink to the bottom n work it.
Try different types of retrieval methods.
-Twitch n fall
-fast /slow retrieve
Play with different colours of soft plastic..

@@DixonicQ Thanks! That's really great tips! Will keep trying! Maybe also go back to freshwater luring once a while to boost morale and then back to Bedok jetty haha
I also saw from another video (your interview with LH) that Selar season is around October to March. Is there other season for other fish, and should that change my technique (or jighead/plastic)?

@@samuelpua9771 sadly Ajing season is only around that period, off season u can try doing some light rock fishing. Fish near breakwater slowly hopping. John snapper can be quite fun. If u r up to bigger challenges, go up north sambawang or Yishun area. There will be diamond trevally..
