- In today's video I am unboxing 4 Lucky Bags from Popmart and reviewing 5 different styles of Lucky Bags that Popmart makes in the spirit of the Japanese tradition of Fukubukuro for New Year's. Plus I take 1 blind box from each Lucky Bag and unboxing it in a chill, slightly ASMR vibes unboxing.

I'm not generally into lucky bags, since I like to go for exactly what I want rather than risk getting a bunch of series I don't like. But I went for one of the 8+ ones during their year end festival, since it was only like 60USD plus I could use a coupon code on it. I got pretty lucky: 3 Pucky series, 2 Skullpanda, 2 Dimoo, and a Modoli series.
The top 5 Pop Mart IPs are Skullpanda, Dimoo, Pucky, Labubu and Molly, so typically if more than half of your boxes are these characters your lucky bag is pretty decent. At least if you don't like them, they're easier to resell. The really crummy ones are where you get mostly unpopular IPs, though if you happen to be into them maybe you feel different. I didn't know they had ones where you could get repeats of the same series, that's definitely a turn off. If they still did that I would definitely avoid lucky bags😅 The character themed ones are the best, you can collect from a bunch of different series for cheap without worrying about getting IPs you don't care about.
I definitely recommend lucky bags for people who are into a variety of the Pop Mart characters. Get them while they're on sale, it's like 6 or 7 USD per box in the bigger ones, even if you only get the minimum quantity, not hard to break even reselling if needed. They are definitely not for collectors into very select characters though, the range of possibilities is just too wide. Also, for the new ones Pop Mart has up right now, know that the listed possibilities seems to be a small sample of what you can get. I think only 3 of the 8 I got were on that list, so don't expect you'll get only the series they show!

That's a lot of blind boxes!! I think the Monsters Toys was my fav out of the 5 you unboxed. I've only bought 2 lucky bags before; the first was ok but the 2nd had 2 items missing :( Think I'll stick to buying what I want in the future. Maybe you'll get super lucky and find a secret one when you unbox them all!?
Hahah maybe Holly! That sucks about the missing items, that would scar me from buying more. I need to put a post it note on my desk "just buy what I want" lol
I actually was pretty lucky on lucky bags, I got the oversized figure that I was hoping for when I bought the bag. However the rest of the boxes weren’t ones that I collect. So I decided to stop while I’m ahead. I usually either buy full cases if I like the majority of the figures or else I buy on the secondary market just the figures I want. I always do a cost analysis to see which is cheaper, but I honestly never sell the figures I don’t like out of a full set.
Great advice Laura, a cost analysis breakdown is really smart to do. I definitely like AND dislike the suprise element of blind boxes so I do like going in blind overall. Usually if I can see 8-9 figures outta 12 I'm really excited for I'll go for a full case but I've never broken it down beyond that. And I get you, buying a full case to sell what you don't like sounds like way to much effort for me 😅
I just ordered the Pop Mart Exciting Lucky Bag. I've seen a few different series recently and I like them all so I think I'll be happy with whatever I get.

Gosh, I love those Pucky Horoscope figures. I really want one! I just got a lucky bag from Popmart and ended up getting a big Mint Molly Car! I'm not fond of Molly figures, but there's a secret version... Do you think I should open it and risk it not being in mint condition anymore to see if it's another color? AAA! Choices! LOL
Mmmm I have a large Duckoo figure that I got too and I'm tempted to open to see if I like, if not sell it. I think it'd probably resell higher unopened.
