- His Holiness the Dalai Lama joins religious leaders from diverse traditions for an inter-faith prayer for world peace at the Grossmünster Church in Zurich, Switzerland on October 15 2016. His Holiness speaks in English with a German translation available. Many of the participants speak in both English and German.

I AM very pleased with communion, prayer and messages of peace, love and compassion that took place here. Bless you brother Dalai Lama. "We should all be children of GOD." The year 1975 when you said that you started your pilgrimage to Jerusalem and likewise you mention that Christians began pilgrimage to India as well, I was born that year.
Such a great world leader you are.... you have stepped such a great step for the unity of all human beings...

Nice to see the religious leaders of various different religions reminding all of their followers of the message of peace, forgiveness, compassion, and love. Yes there are differences in religions, but those that believe in God, should respect people who have different beliefs, and unite in our wish for peace and happiness. As his holiness states, the problem is that people feel there is an "us" and a "them".
I pray everyday for peace. life is too short

Thank You Dalai Lama for your messages from the heart. You are truly a gift to this world. You mentioned at 1:03:33 that you began the practice of acceptance and acknowledgement of other religions when you started your pilgrimage to Jerusalem in 1975. You mention Christians also started their pilgrimage to India where different religions met, also around 1975 or shortly after. 1975 was also the year I was born :)

It is only through UNITY peace could be fully realized. By transcending our religious and cultural differences the way of heaven. As a matter of fact, no religion,, no race and culture build an ideal world yet, for us human beings to settle. A lesson to study and be aware that every religion does not hold the absolute truth. But maybe a portion of truth. A story has been uttered through the ages of a king and the seven blind men. The King told them what an elephant looked like. They had different report and description. In my opinion, that is where our religions stand. Even though religious interfaith harmony could not be an ultimate weapon for peace but a temporary relief of violence and other conflicting struggle in life. It might be a strong ground for the Messiah would cone. In addition, particularly it is not religion could bring peace in our midst. It is only through the Messiah. By uniting with him an everlasting peace would come.
i like buddhism but i dislike many other belief systems-i cant understand why i should like them

Its common to see that when monks recite prayers or scriptures, HHDL is reciting mentally and physical biproduct is that slow rocking 🙏🏼
Is there a translation to the chanting?
The guy dressed like a Solomonic table has a typical sermon intro. I believe it is narrated by the main sunni narrators in different parts and of course Qur'an.
It's best if you ask a geshe (a tibetan buddhist scholar)
