This is so incredibly well explained. I really appreciate finding a good teacher on TH-cam. The right person can be so much more helpful than a classroom course with a teacher whose style doesn't quite match your learning style.

Wow, thank you! I appreciate the kind words! This series was originally supposed to just be the hood of the car but ended up going a bit deeper. The Ferrari 308 was more of a planned out car modeling series fyi.

Forgot to mention, i do this professionally for Autodesk Sadhu, so if you want to take any courses there are dozens of them for free academy.autodesk.com/explore-and-learn Just search for Fusion 360. In those courses I don't really get to cover Forms other than for Generative Design, but just another resource.

I know creating cars is a long process, you have a perfect teaching skill. I personally want to see the whole process so I can replicate it myself.

Thanks Ian! I did the entire body model in the Ferrari 308 series. The WRX had some challenges I wasn't expecting to encounter and Forms really just wasn't the best tool for the job. Hopefully the 308 series is a better fit.

Great series, thank you. I'm following along and when I get to around 11:20, inserting an edge, as I move the slider to the right the new edge moves until it touches the existing edge and, although the numbers in the control box go negative, the new edge 'bounces' off the existing and moves back towards the left. Can you tell me if I'm doing something wrong, or might this just be a glitch. I've restarted Fusion, but with the same result. Thanks a million for any help you can offer.

Hey Trevor, its a glitch sadly. It used to show the preview on the other side once the numbers go negative. I don't know why it no longer does. Sometimes if you redo the tool it will display correctly. If you aren't inserting them visually and you know about where you want it (like 0.5), you can just go by the numbers.

Thanks for the reply. I'm a bit of an idiot, as I kept on cancelling out of the operation when the preview didn't behave as it should. As you say, if I use the numbers it works. Much appreciated, thank you.

@@23TrevorE No worries. It is frustrating because it used to work and then it doesn't.... FYI the ferrari 308 series is a little better fit for learning forms. The wrx has some big challenges and roadblocks along the way but still valuable!

12:47 Why back smooth this object alt+1?

Its a good habit to just double check smooth/box display as you model. Box display should be the main driver for the overall shape, but once you get into details you will need to switch back and forth. Fusion has made some slight updates to the "make uniform" and "repair body" commands since this video was filmed FYI.
