Comment on 2:26 the defense was the reason that they won the conference last year. For the front half of the season it was holding it down til the offense clicked
Just from first glance no. They’ll do good, but Florida state and Louisville will probably give them fits. Otherwise I think they’ll be fine and look to basically be a top contender in the next season or so
SMU will go from anywhere at 5-7 to 8-4 record wise this upcoming season. No way in hell do they go 10-2. In three games against P5/4 competition they were crushed last season. They should open 2-0 but if lose to Nevada, then 6-6 or 7-5 is the best case scenario definitely. But they should win first two games before having 3 home games which are all games could and should lose most likely. Going 1-2 in the first set of home games stretch against better, more established teams with expectations would be better than 0-3 in those games. But I could see them lose all three. The next three games are all road games starting with Louisville which will be a loss for SMUG definitely. They have to split or win both games at Stanford and Duke if hope to finish with 7 wins at least; must win both games if are 2-4 through first 6 games. The remaining schedule is not too daunting but the final game of the season as a home game against Cal will determine which school finishes 8-4 and which school goes 7-5 in the first season of ACC football play. Where is this 10-2 crud you are predicting, I have no clue where you would see that?
From an SMU Fan: only in college football 25 with me at HC

One more for the money talk: SMU still making more money with the neutered payout than the whole AAC payout
They are well-positioned to compete

Really only feel like the non winnable games are FSU and Louisville.
Hell to the no
They may get to Charlotte but will not win
Huge loss in top 4 star QB to Bama -- I expect them to be a top 5 ACC team, and I'm being conservative.
