@Kidd the test is a multiple choice question in a computer. It is 50 question in order to pass is 40 if you get wrong more then 10 the computer automatically fail you. Good luck

In California for my CDL class b with passenger and air brakes endorsements, I had to take 4 tests; Gen knowledge, passenger, air brakes and commercial. I passed the first 3 but not the commercial test. I having trouble with that one. They paid for it the first time now...I need to pay for it and retake all 4 again. You get 3 chances for each.
With California, it's three strikes and you're out, and when you're out in California, you have to re-take all of the written tests. This commercial test is something required in California. Isnt CDL just a driver's test? Now Im confused. WIll we take two seperate exams? or is it just one and motherfuckers just want to use fancy terms to piss people off
Actually, you're partially correct. Once you pass the "written" exams, the examiners will give you a piece of paper called a CLP or Commercial Learner Permit. After two weeks, they will permit you to come back to them and then they give you three skills tests. Once you pass them, then they'll give you another piece of paper called a CDL or Commercial Driver's License.
Whether you pass or not, you're there for you and the improvement of your life and circumstances. Good luck. I hope you pass, but if you don't, it's not the end of the world. You'll do better the next time around. God bless.

Each person is different. It depends what you want to do with your CDL. There are "written" exams and skills tests. There may be a few that are on the exam but no guarantees, and what was on my exam may not be on your exam and vice versa. However, from my sources, I can tell you that the questions on the exam are taken from the CDL manual, so if you study the manual, you should do fine. Study Sections 1, 2, and 3. Barry Branton yes I’ve seen your videos. Tested again and I failed again. The ones I keep messing up are ones not showing up on the book or in your videos. I see them as scenario questions. But they really throw me off. One question that really had me say wtf was. If the posted speed for trucks is slower what should you do. A. Drive same speed as other trucks and buses. B. Drive slower. C. Slower for turns. I selected A. Turns out it was C.

@Kidd the test is a multiple choice question in a computer. It is 50 question in order to pass is 40 if you get wrong more then 10 the computer automatically fail you. Good luck

In California for my CDL class b with passenger and air brakes endorsements, I had to take 4 tests; Gen knowledge, passenger, air brakes and commercial. I passed the first 3 but not the commercial test. I having trouble with that one. They paid for it the first time now...I need to pay for it and retake all 4 again. You get 3 chances for each.
With California, it's three strikes and you're out, and when you're out in California, you have to re-take all of the written tests. This commercial test is something required in California. Isnt CDL just a driver's test? Now Im confused. WIll we take two seperate exams? or is it just one and motherfuckers just want to use fancy terms to piss people off
Actually, you're partially correct. Once you pass the "written" exams, the examiners will give you a piece of paper called a CLP or Commercial Learner Permit. After two weeks, they will permit you to come back to them and then they give you three skills tests. Once you pass them, then they'll give you another piece of paper called a CDL or Commercial Driver's License.

How many tests do you take to get your permit ?
Each person is different. It depends what you want to do with your CDL. There are "written" exams and skills tests. For example, as a school bus driver, I took the GK exam, the School Bus Endorsement Exam, and the Passenger Endorsement Exam. Most of this information is explained in Section 1 of your CDL manual.

For CDL General Knowledge Exam, you should study Sections 1, 2, and 3 of your state's CDL manual. However, Section 2 is the most important. See th-cam.com/video/qcCKkDjPGBs/w-d-xo.html
There may be a few that are on the exam but no guarantees, and what was on my exam may not be on your exam and vice versa. However, from my sources, I can tell you that the questions on the exam are taken from the CDL manual, so if you study the manual, you should do fine. Study Sections 1, 2, and 3. Barry Branton yes I’ve seen your videos. Tested again and I failed again. The ones I keep messing up are ones not showing up on the book or in your videos. I see them as scenario questions. But they really throw me off. One question that really had me say wtf was. If the posted speed for trucks is slower what should you do. A. Drive same speed as other trucks and buses. B. Drive slower. C. Slower for turns. I selected A. Turns out it was C.
