Excellent video! This is the most balanced review I've watched to date.
I understand what 'early access' means and the price is negligible. Personally, Im not paying to test and provide bug reports. I have no issue with those that do.
In my opinion the current video game business model combined with the consumers that support it props up a broken system.
They have had 10 years - a decade - to develop this game and Im shocked at the lack of functionality in this 'early release.'
I know that AC and ACC had difficult releases but this appears to be a cash grab at best; if not, then the only conclusion to be drawn is that management learned nothing from the two previous releases.
Those that claim the price is so low vis a vis the content are deflecting: it has nothing to do with the actual price - its about deciding how one wants to spend their free time.
Those that claim that one should purchase this to 'help' with game development are exactly the type of consumer video game companies want: is there any other type of transaction between companies and consumers where the consumer is expected to 'help' with the development of a product - ? Again, they have had 10 years to develop this game.
Im on ACC every day and I will probably purchase EVO when the full game is released.
@@JPKelly-xr7tr I can hear the frustration in your tone here JP and in an ideal world games would be released In a fully functioning state like back in the old days.
But we all game on very different pc’s and consoles with different components and peripherals.
For the developers to test all these combinations it’s near impossible.
I agree the game should have more content and functionality but imagine this for a moment.
There was no early access to help the devs. They just launch the game in September 2025 with as many bugs and flaws as they think they could iron out alone.
Then when it lands there’s further issues…
Imagine if in September for all those who haven’t bought into the early access release, get a game that works straight out of the box with hundreds of issues already solved.
ACC was terrible at launch and spent years getting to where it is now on console but I believe it should never have been available for Xbox one or PS4. The older consoles never did it justice and it must have been a monumental frustration trying to figure out what to compromise to deliver the game even at 30 FPS.
I’m all for early access if it helps deliver a game at launch that functions better.
I think people need to understand we are being given a discount on the game now to help develop it for those who will pay the full price.
For me it’s worth every penny of the purchase. I’m just looking forward to playing it on a pc where I’m not making so many sacrifices to get it to run above 60FPS.
Hopefully before the full game release I’ll have a quality gaming pc.
@@JPKelly-xr7tr if I may offer some hope. The game production times aren’t laziness the way games are made to date it’s using polygons and rendering is what causes lag etc this makes everything worse when it’s already deliberate in pretty much you have to code in every patch of grass in squares every piece or section of streets tarmac. But recently all this has changed. Whether you have seen ppl upset with Unreal Engine or nothing yet. You will soon. It’s revolutionary new technology completely outdated everything on the old way of making games. But it’s going to take time to trickle into engines as Unreal is a Plug in that you can use way more functionality than ever before (like maps the entire earth every street and alley and perfect photo resolution graphics 3x bigger than the real earth is now 1:1 scale and it still don’t lag) like it used to has real world lighting effects and you don’t have to do every building street and lamp light no more you code in the buildings the items the textures and you go make me a city this shape and size and it does it for you in seconds what used to take years 💯 so please 🙏 hang in there this tech is going to allow our GPU’s all more resources making them now worth a bit more than what we paid because the lag issue has all but been eradicated. It won’t be long mate

I'm very familiar with game development: contract QA Tester with Microprose for 10 years.
I take your point regarding graphics and processor functionality.
However, I was referring to basic UI / interface issues. Again, I have no issue with anyone purchasing this early access release; personally, I'm not going to spend my free time 'working' for any company to improve their product. especially when they have had a decade to work on it.
The fundamental issue here that transcends the state of technology and goes beyond this specific release is the current business model. As long as consumers support it the situation will not change.

Could someone with the control setup please? I see fanatec wheel and even sprint pedals at the top of the menu but can’t assign anything?
similar here , fanatec gtdd pro + mclaren wheel & v2 pedals - all recognised in game , but wont let me assign anything.
Logitech pedals anyone? Clutch a little sharp? or just not lifelike lol in settings click your wheel then clutch then settings on the right it comes up individual setting per pedal set deadzone to 1 (must be at least 1 when setting your clutch bite) Set Saturation X to 40% and Saturation Y 99% Curvature -7-17 for a smooth clutch and shift like a boss, Braking twitchy? Click the brake in your wheel setting leave all Saturations 100% Curvature +12 also you should add some speed sensitivity it helps with stabilising the car at high speeds usually 40 ish on Asseto 1 but here I got it at nearly 60 and dial it in that way backward hope this helps
BB works on a couple of cars it doesn't display decimals so a few clicks and it will change the whole number.

@@Stoner-yx8ij I’ve not seen anywhere you can adjust the brake balance. Is it something you need to assign a button for ? It’s definitely not an adjustment you can make in the car setup.

@@jaysysumakaRatMaster3 yes you have to set a bind then adjust in cockpit same with turning off TC and ABS as well as changing the cars performance mode (try changing modes in the gr86 and it drives like its on rails)
My wheel won't line up and the cars just go in circles. Any help ?

@@jaysysumakaRatMaster3 its worth noting that my tv is an lg 55inch 120hz gaming tv....i have the native resolution at 2160 x 1440...was genuinely surprised at how it looked
@bodinski100 yeah I have a 4k 32” 240hz gaming monitor. I’m not impressed with the 720p version so far. Gonna try 1600 x 900 see if that’s better. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy with running 1080p 👍🏼
What are you using to see fps and all that ?

The developers have a lot of work to do in terms of performance. It runs really bad at the moment.
Yep, couldn’t agree more. To jump from 90 FPS to 50 is a massive jump considering very little changes during the scene.
Oddly enough, though I’ve heard of the problems that other people are having, my experience is very different. My PC doesn’t even meet the minimum spec, as it had a 4th gen i7 (and an RTX 2070 and 32 Gb of RAM), and yet it runs well in an AI quick race in the rain. Ok, I’m only running 1080p, but I’m surprised.
@timmuston2687 surely your 2070 has better performance than my 3050. I think the key for people with budget gaming pc’s is running 1080p

@@colinslater2947 so what GPU are you running? The Ryzen 5 is similar to my i5.
But the i5 is slightly faster in multi-threaded tasks due to its hybrid architecture with 6 Performance cores and 4 Efficiency cores.
I've a 3050 laptop and I'm not even getting 20fps on low settings
Have you also tried changing the aspect ratio to 1080p and also the display settings on your desk top to 1080p?
I’m running very low in game settings and I don’t see much difference from low settings visually apart from better FPS by a few frames.
@jaysysumakaRatMaster3 yes, and the laptop 3050 has only 4gb vram. ACC and AMS 2 gives me 90+ fps on ultra settings but this game not even 20 even with dlss set to performance. Idk what's wrong. I even have 32GB of RAM. It you can help me fix it, you'll make my day
Even on 720p low with dlss to performance I'm not crossing 25 fps
Based on our performance differences it’s likely to be your 4gb of VRAM. But I’ve listed a few points below. Here are some possibilities to investigate:
1. VRAM Limitation on RTX 3050 (4GB)
• Issue: With only 4GB of VRAM, the RTX 3050 may struggle to handle the textures or assets required by the game, particularly if it’s a VRAM-intensive title. Running the game on ultra settings exacerbates this issue. When VRAM runs out, the system falls back on slower system RAM, causing severe FPS drops.
• Solution: Lower texture quality, shadows, and any settings labelled VRAM-dependent (like high-resolution textures). These settings directly affect VRAM usage.
2. Incorrect GPU Usage (Integrated GPU vs. Dedicated GPU)
• Issue: Some laptops with an integrated Intel GPU and a dedicated NVIDIA GPU may accidentally default to using the integrated GPU, leading to poor performance.
• Solution: Ensure the NVIDIA RTX 3050 is selected for the game.
• Go to NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings tab.
• Select the game and assign the High-performance NVIDIA processor.
3. DLSS or Upscaling Settings
• Issue: If DLSS or a similar upscaling feature is off, the game may be running at native resolution, which is harder on the GPU.
• Solution: Check if the game supports DLSS or FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution), and enable it for better FPS. Also, ensure the render resolution isn’t higher than 1080p.

5. Thermal Throttling
• Issue: If the laptop overheats, the CPU or GPU may throttle performance to lower temperatures, causing FPS drops.
• Solution:
• Monitor GPU and CPU temperatures using a tool like MSI Afterburner or HWMonitor.
• Ensure the laptop’s fans are clean and operating effectively.
• Play in a cooler environment or use a cooling pad.
6. Game-Specific Optimisation Issues
• Issue: The game might not be well-optimised for certain hardware or drivers.
• Solution: Check for game patches and updates. Some titles release updates to address performance issues for specific hardware.
7. Excessive RAM Allocation
• Issue: If the system allocates too much RAM for background processes or page files, this could bottleneck the GPU.
• Solution:
• Check Task Manager for memory usage during gameplay.
• Adjust virtual memory/page file size: Set it to 1.5x the RAM size
I would personally try setting the preset graphics to very low and like me, run the game in 1080p.

I've got a dozen 5 5600x , Nvidia 3060 . Apart from very slow initial download, I'm more than happy with the performance and content and price. Pleasantly surprised how good it is. Early access. Say no more.
Yeah I guess the 3060 tops my 3050 giving you a little more performance 👍🏼
