    I have wanted one of these. I can't talk myself past the price, but I love the looks of this pen! Thank you for reminding me about it. And thank you for reminding me about the ribs. I don't think I would like those. And good point about the Studio...though I don't like the grip on that one.

      It’s a pen most people don’t really think or talk about much!
      I like the studio a lot- especially the ones with matte grips instead of chrome.

    Hi, I like your reviews! Lamy is one of the few companies that make their own nibs in-house,. My experience echoes yours...I've never had a bad Lamy nib. There's an excellent youtube video that shows Lamy's production facility in operation, including the nib production. All very high-tech German, of course. You've probably seen it, since you've sold or still sell Lamy, but I mention it for others who might wish to view it.

    I totally agree with your statement from the design standpoint. I don't understand why the ribbed grip section must be so "protruding" and for lack of a better term "offensive" to the uncapped look of the pen. I find it slightly intrusive and while a ribbed grip section *could* work, but perhaps not protruding outwards as much. I also find the pen contradictory to the LAMY brand philosophy, which had always followed the Bauhaus design philosophy, because let's face it. The grip section doesn't really help with the function of the pen, nor does it contribute fluidly to the look of the rest of the pen (The barrel and cap). I'm basically just repeating what you said but felt the redundant urge to write about it.

    Olive I am confused now, should I buy Imporium or Dialog 3?

    • @oliveboypens
      @oliveboypens  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It depends! They both have benefits and downsides. The Dialog 3 has a cap that doesn’t seal 100% perfectly, so it’s a pen best suited for regular use so it doesn’t dry out. Other than that, I prefer it in every way over the Imporium- and it costs $150 less!

    for 600 dollars.....you could get 2 lamy 2000's and 2 Lamy Dialog 3's. You may find this Imporium on eBay for like 250.

    Are you sure it’s brass? I’ve spoke to a sales rep from Lamy and they stated that it was a black PVD coating on top of titanium

    • @oliveboypens
      @oliveboypens  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I can definitely vouch for the fact that it's PVD coated- but there isn't any official Lamy literature on what the actual body is made out of. As a Lamy sales rep myself, I haven't gotten a straight answer on what it is yet. Brass is just my best guess based on weight, feel, and color of the inside of the body.

      Olive Boy so the titanium version is just a titanium coating over brass? I’ve checked the weight on both of these models and both of them are 50 grams, keeping in mind that titanium is lighter(but stronger) than brass

    • @oliveboypens
      @oliveboypens  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@coldensheppard6221 Yes, it's a titanium coating on brass. I think the price would be more justified if it was solid titanium.

    The hideous looking grip section kills the deal for me. It’s almost reptilian in appearance. And frankly, the overall design and appearance of the pen don’t move me at all. I have held and used the Imporium before. Not the least surprised at how wonderful, smooth and fun the 14k nib is as a writer. The price is sort of crazy to my eyes. The ‘flagship’ designation both amuses and baffles me. Anyway, my dollars would go elsewhere. It already has. I recently bought my second Lamy 2000 with a B nib.

      @@pauzga5516you have probably threaded it. It’s a common problem with them. I’ve got two of them but I’m careful when capping it

      I can't understand Lamy on that: I believe all the models except the mid-range Aion and Ideos have plastic threads inside. Even the 2000's steel version🤔

    The design is a bit meh. I can't believe this is their most expensive pen.
    I can get it here at almost the same price as the Dialog CC but I think I'm going with the latter anyway.
