@TokiTheDude yea I knew that but I'm talking somthing that is basically an incubator. That you can put your eggs IN and they will incubate regardless of temp. The dimetrodon acts as an air conditioner same as the penguin does. Which will incubate eggs but you are forced to drop them on the ground.

How is this different than ASE? Do they still mate boost to increase egg rate and reduce the interval timers? Also, you can weight them down with stone and set to wander for extra boost and they will keep picking up eggs. Level up melee to increase range

I've had the Single Player corrupted save issue 3 times with this past season, and it's way too late in the year to do a fresh start on the official server as that was already locked in when I went to SP. Hopefully, with Ark getting out, Snail can throw some love in Atlas's direction and get a new fresh season started soon
I'm really glad they did this. I've been saying for a while that they need to eliminate lot of the technology/devices/mods people use to accomplish tasks that are just annoying. They also needed to make EVERY creature a necessity for something because they eliminated the tech. Get rid of air conditioners and fridges by making dimetrodons, kairuku, and otters better. Get rid of SCUBA by making the diplacaulus a O2 providing underwater jet pack. Give ALL the mammals an insulation buff. Make the mammoth an autonomous crop irrigator. The devs should be polling players to find out what the LEAST used creatures are and use that as a guide to make the creatures useful. Players should be forced into a much more primitive play style for longer, but the void of technology needs to be filled by powers creatures have. This is a step in the right direction.
not sure u can make every creature useful. and have to admit some tech like pokeball holders are nice. terminals. where u can have eggs laid, inside them, poop collected etc inside a machine. saves on having dinos out all the time so better server performance.... still though i got ark to play dinos not tech bs. i had over 1k hours in game before i used anything past long neck... and 1400+ before i got anything tech. by that time i was playing primal fear. tech was just kinda needed lol.
Never was a huge fan of all the tech in Ark, especially after Gen2. This is a good idea! Many of Ark's newer dinos had waay too much power creep, and were too OP, so I think they have to be careful with that. But these types of TLC for older dinos would be great to give them some much needed relevance without making them too OP. I also wish they hadn't given up on Primitive+. It really was a great game mode, but it died because of a lack of upkeep/support by WC.
@howard7997 Ya. The devs have not been great at understanding "counters" for effects/powers/creatures. They just kept giving every new creature more powers, HP, and attack. A bronto should be able to effectively counter a rex. Gigas should be susceptible to flyers or deinonychus or shoulder pets in large numbers or titanosaurs (which should be easier to tame and keep alive). I know people love them, but the Shadowmanes are garbage creatures. They're yutyranuses mixed with rock drakes mixed with some sort of sea creature plus they a chain attack, they're fast, and medium sized. No creature should be that "stacked." They need to balance the creatures, make them REALLY good at ONE thing, terrible at another, and ok at one or two more. No creature should be useless or lame, but they should have valuable niche uses that can't be filled by tech.

Sure, new super powerful dinos that can do everything sound great at first, but over the long haul, they can do more damage to the game than good imo. I get it's a difficult thing to balance, but ASA is a great opportunity for them to take a good, hard look at dinos and rebalance them. Hopefully, they will take advantage of that and keep doing things like what they have done with the oviraptors.
Teach I am a console player but you need to try raft moduler design. I think you can combine rafts together and have one super raft. If you want to test it before I have an opportunity I have no issue.
Are you saying you think rafts would be capable of snapping together and moving as one? Or are you thinking of just having multiple rafts with different purposes all floated together to make a base? Cuz I've tried the last part and it wasn't as great as it may seem. Especially when Leedsichthys exist.

Most ppl used them for egg buff but they weighed them down. Nobody used them for egg collection unless stealing wyvern eggs. I don't think there was auto harvest mode to pick what kind of egg and it doesn't look like it needs to be on wandering to collect the eggs which is good since weighing them down to keep them from wandering off would negate this ability.
Two questions Can Ovi pick up Non Tribe eggs ? PvP and PvE official And ldk if there are still wild eggs but will they pick up wild eggs as well.... if so? you know what l am thinking...
It’s very small from my tests. Maybe 2-3 foundations around it MAX. If you want them to auto collect for you what I’ve done is put one near each Dino breeding group. For example near 1 male rex and a few females then another near a group of argies ect.

Hi Teach...can you (or maybe you have already) do a little more testing and confirm that the Oviraptors won't pick up eggs once they're overburdened please. That question was asked on Reddit and the response was that they CAN still pick up eggs even when overweight, but you said they can't in this video. Thanks for all you do!
I don't know wtf is happening right now but my ovi was picking up 7-12 eggs overnight (stone inventory, left on roam). Recently i wake up and i might have one egg or none. If i drop an egg it picks it up, but i've seen eggs (in range) not getting picked up. I'm here because I curious if it's a bug or a patch...

Idk if this is bugged or not but I’m having issues probably oviraptors eating them. I left two yuty on breeding for around 9hrs overnight . They lay an egg once around every 5 min or so. When I logged and check the two oviraptors I have only had 3 fertilized eggs.. like they have meat in their inventory and there’s a trough with meat in them so idk why so many eggs are missing..
Also a real time saver when breeding multiple egg layers at once. Just one collection point, as opposed to however many females you got dropping eggs. You're welcome. ;)
Just to clarify; Omnivore, meaning they will eat either/or/both berries/veggies, meat. You can pack a nearby trough with either one, allowing more efficient use of a trough.

I don't making them overweight made them produce quicker. People do that so that the dinosaurs didn't wander too far from the dinosaur they are mating with. If either of the dinosaurs gets out a certain range of the other dinosaur they are mating with the mating gauge drops to zero and they have start mating again
If you're out of rendering range your Dinos won't lay eggs in single player. At least that's how it works when you're breeding them. They won't lay fertilized eggs until you get in rendering range so I imagine it works the same for unfertilized eggs as well.
I have a weighed down wandering ovirpator and he has picked up an egg (contrary to you saying they need weight). Not sure if there is a certain weight cap though. If I find out, I'll try to report back, unless someone else knows

done limited testing, low lvl oviraptor started with 2.5 foundation range, other oviraptor which was higher level had more so compared stats, food was much higher so pumped food on lower ovi, increased range to roughly 4.5 foundations, so there def was a range increase, problem being, we pumped food on higher oviraptor aswell,m it ended up with 2k more food then lower lvl one, but range still ended up lower then the lower level oviraptor, is very confusing to me and the friend that is testing with me
Is there a dino that has the ability to pick up poop? Like say the dung beetles? I so tired of have to pick up all the poop around my base I really hope that is an ability another dino has.
Doesn't seem too consequential. Egg collection was never the issue it's the temperature and time monitoring, yes? And once you have air cond stacks just time...
I think the new thing is the menu to choose what eggs you want the oviraptor to pick up. I'm not sure if that menu is new or not. You are right tho the oviraptor picking up eggs isn't new

They should give the phoenix the ability to incubate eggs. Make a desire to tame phoenix again would be cool.
Dimetrodon acts as a egg incubator in early game! Place egg on ground near it! Pump melee to increase thermal insulation.

Melee doesn’t increase range, that’s false info. Range is based on its level. Levels you put into it will increase range as well.

The same happens to dung beetle they auto pick poop and make fertilizer. They keep picking up poop even when encumbered (not sure if it a bug)

If you're out of rendering range your Dinos won't lay eggs in single player. At least that's how it works when you're breeding them. They won't lay fertilized eggs until you get in rendering range so I imagine it works the same for unfertilized eggs as well.

@@Corpsify98 weight doesn't matter. he'll pick up eggs until he's black boxed. Some of your yutis might be out of range of the pick up
