    This is one of my absolute favorite fabrics. I made a pair of genie/harem style pants with double gauze and they are currently my absolute favorite. I love them so much I'm currently sewing up another in a different shade. The natural billowy nature of that style lends well to the sag that can happen when double gauze relaxes. Thank you for these lovely pattern suggestions and the tip about the zip! 😊 💜

    I've been planning on making a Ogden cami and skirt out of some lovely double gauze I got last year. It was nice to see the Ogden on the list, and I will have to check out the Twig and Tale skirt. Thank you!

    Perfect! I have a beautiful double gauze and wasn't sure of what to do with it. This answered my question.
    Now I have to get better at sewing before risquing it.

    Great video, so informative with some wonder pattern ideas. I have just received my ‘Think Pink Subscription Box’ from Andrea, beyondthepinkdoor which contained 2.5 meters of great quality double gauze with a leaf pattern. The fabric is white (which drains me) so I’m going to dye it. Thank you so much & will definitely subscribe, now I’ve found your channel. 😊

    Thanks for your information! And, BTW, it´s a pleasure to listen to you and to look at you"🤩 Any possible advice how to prevent the slant wrinkles on the kimono front part of sleeves? Ironed on reinforcement of the seam did not help, on the contrary...😱

    I loved this video!! Great collection of patterns, and your Pleiades dress is gorgeous. I'd really enjoy more videos like this, matching patterns to fabric types, as that's something I sometimes struggle with! Right now, I'd especially love a video on patterns that work really well with rayon challis, as I have a few large cuts in my stash that I'm not quite sure what to do with.

    Thanks alot for your videos! I want to work with gauze or double gauze fabric and create dresses like nomadicfriends site or etsy sacredwear, but i have no idea on how to get that free styled edges which are not hemmed.
    Best example of what i am talking about are ayasacred wears red dresses. It would be amazing to get an opinion from someone who worked with the fabric

    Hi! Very informative video! I am sewing a shirt with double gauze and need an advice. Would you suggest making double or single yoke on the back of the shirt? I like the sandwiched yoke, but am afraid of ending up with bulky back. Thanks in advance! ❤

    When you made the lovely Pleades (probably spelled wrong) dress, did you make your actual measurement size or size down one size? I just manage to fit in the largest size and plan on letting my double gauze be krinkly, not press it flat, so I assume that it will stretch out a bit as I wear it. I just wondered if I should size down or not because of that. Also my waist is a couple of inches larger than the biggest size. Will that be ok in this pattern, or should I grade up a little bit? My other option was the Megan Nielsen Darling Ranges dress. I thought maybe the straight cut view. I've seen people make the gathered view in double gauze and it looks gorgeous, but I'm concerned in that one as well as the Pleades dress that the gathering will be too bulky on my waist. What do you think?

    QUESTION: I noticed there are 2 different types of double gauze- a crinkled one and a smooth one (like Nani iro or atelier brunette). But my question is, what are each of the types called? Surely I can’t refer to both types as just ‘double gauze’.

    Thanks, I'm a quilter and bag maker, but I have a lot of quilting cotton that I want to turn into clothes. How many quilts can I use. What type of clothes can I make with quilting cotton?

    • @JenniferKokoski
      @JenniferKokoski 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Quilting cotton makes lovely a-line skirts. It is a stiffer more structured fabric which holds it's shape better. You can cut the skirts as two panels : front & back trapezoids with a slight curve at the bottom. Tiered: 3-6 rectangular panels gathered in incremental widths (peasant skirt). A-line with ruffle (combines the two styles. If you want to use buttons or zip closures, you'll cut the waistband for your waist size and open to your hip size. If you prefer elastic or ties, cut the waistband to your hip size then gather with your closure.

      Yes give it a go. It's easy enough if you pick a simple pattern (few seams/details) for your first try and just take heed of the tips (which I go over in my other vlog that I mention 😉)
