For people wondering why her theme is called OverTrip, it has the British meaning of the word which means walking on stealth manner. It also fits her MI6 secret agent status (a Delta Red nod) as well as her cat vibe. (remember, Cammy love cats and stretches just like one :P)

Man i haven't really been a Cammy player since SSF2, but man SF6 is making me think of possibly picking her back up after all these years. They have done an amazing job with her all the way around.

One thing I love is that this really sounds tragic, but also determined. Tragic because she’s a character who was created to serve, and even after rebelling only lives to serve a different master. Even if it’s for a better cause, she can’t just move on.

The synth and digital sounding aspect of her theme really nails how expertly professional she is in her line of work as a secret agent
I really like the melody of this one. It's really pretty, grateful in a sense but with a more techno sound Overtop which I think fits for her story thematically.

Everything about Cammy is perfect, she has always been my favorite character and now she is just making it happen. I'm really looking forward to playing Cammy in SF6 and I REALLY hope she has more of a role in the game's story.

How this composer cuts out the fast notes at certain times is genius. Round 3 has that loud synth which is cut in and out to make rhythm. The ABSENCE of stuff sometimes is the most impressive. "Where did she go?"
The love that Cammy gets in Street fighter as a whole is crazy... She's been around for the longest right behind the original SF2 characters and she's still the hypest character reveal and design despite putting more clothes on her..... And her new song is a pure banger!

I swear these Devs put so much into their games for the majority of the players like you to not have the ability to actually critically and deeply think about how each element creates a character. This theme is perfect for Cammy currently. It’s dark, sensual, yet high octane (like her character)… it trills low typically mimicking her fast and light walking animation, then it SPIKES UP reminiscent of someone getting within range and throwing out either a Cannon Spike or a Spiral Arrow. Her theme is fast, sharp, with spikes of high energy mimicking her fighting style. But when the music isn’t spiking the low beats are meant to embody how otherwise lowkey, chill, and behind the scenes Cammy is due to her lifestyle, and previous life as a literal Assassin.
This right here might just be my favorite character OST in SF6!!! 🔥🔥 ALL HAIL OUR QUEEN CAMMY!! 👸

I’ll be honest, I don’t like ANY of these new themes, because none of them are as catchy or as memorable as their original SFII themes. These just sound like generic Club songs.
I’d argue that Capcom hasn’t produced a good OST for their fighting games since Alpha 3, maybe CvS2 at most.
Sf4's ost goes pretty hard. SfV has some bangers in it too. Captain America's theme in Marvel 3 is also pretty godlike.

Overpass Stage -Tokyo- from sf4 is an absolute banger
While Dudley's, Sagat's, Makoto's, and Dan's themes of Sf4 are remixes I think they take those tracks in an interesting direction that work very well (I'm especially fond of Sagat's)
Cruise Ship Stern Stage from sf4 has a lot of energy to it that I like, as does Snowy Rail Yard Stage
I honestly just think that sf4 has just some really good stage themes
Hakan's theme is fun and Poison's theme has no business going as hard as it does.
Moving on to sfv, I think Oro's sfv theme is honestly a little better than his 3s theme. It has so much more atmosphere imo, tho both are good don't get me wrong.
And Gill's theme is genuinely majestic.
@@ugh7390 It’s not irrelevant, it’s judging beat for beat, how catchy or memorable it is, etc. etc. Are these new themes better or worse than the themes that came before? That’s the question.
The old themes are just superior in every way. The kind of songs that get stuck in your head or catch yourself humming. That’s the kind of music I’m talking about. The old composers had that kind of talent, whatever passes for music in these new games ain’t it. Not even close.
Out of those tracks you’ve listed they’re not nearly as well composed or as memorable. Even remixes come off as lacking in a way-mixing in elements and flourishes that just doesn’t fit, and come off as lazy and uninspired. Like it’s afraid to make something that stands out.
Each of those older songs fit the character they represent, while each of these newer songs fit no one and sound more like generic Club Beats than an anthem to those characters. You hear those old songs you immediately know who’s theme it is.
To this day, “Rising Dragon” from Street Fighter EX is still Ryu’s best theme, same goes for “Guardian of Light” for Ken, and “Spinning Bird” for Chun-li.
As for Cammy’s theme, this new track doesn’t hold a candle to her original SuperSF2 theme. None the tracks on SF6 does. If there’s an option to use the old OSTs on SF6, you better believe I’m switching over to that.
@ThunderGod Cid no that's not the question, because that wasn't your argument. You weren't saying that the old osts were just better, but they haven't produced a good ost since cvs2. Which I heavily disagree with, since sf4/umvc3 has a lot of good tracks on it. And while SFV has mostly just remixes and some admittedly pretty bad tracks (Juri's theme and Ed's theme), it still has some tracks that in imo make it pretty worth it in the end.
In the subject of remixes tho, I kind of see where you're coming from but I cant help but disagree for the most part. I think with the subject of sf4, considering that the remixes are often done to suit the aesthetic of 4. It helps give a pretty consistent and intentional vibe. It ties everything together is what I'm getting at. I also think that they're able to represent the character's in question a bit more. As I said Sagat's theme is genuinely really good, and I'm listening to that rendition over his 2 theme any day easily.

Man, the SF6 OST really devided the fandom.
Part of it is the format of the OST, I think. They're designed to be dynamic and change according the the round or state of the characters during match. Which, is just a completely different listening experience than listening to song with a direct start and end point.
But it is what it is. I think it's good within the context of how it's supposed to work.
@@demidevilqueen I see, it's like Killer Instinct's OST, then. It was made the same way, the music responds differently even when both characters are idle. In that sense, I feel like SF6's soundtrack tries to be subtle and don't distract the player from the game (I know some composers in the industry make them with this in mind), while KI's have more presence, maybe because it was made to be listened to as songs apart from the game. This one has a different approach.

Guile's new theme is a tragedy. This one at least has character and dynamics, though I feel that all of the new themes are melodically weak.

I'm not am SF6 ost hater but this one actually is pretty mid.
Guile and Cammy both had catchy beats in their classic theme. Now they both have military agent vibe. It’s fitting for these characters, but man their classics are such bangers that I can’t help but to feel like the new ones are downgrade.
But other than that I really enjoy the themes.
This is like audio ambrosia. It’s like a slap from Zeus himself. I want to bump this riding around Metro City at 2am while munching on honey roasted cashews. I thought my boy Jimmy Blanka had a sweet ass track. I thought my my man Jamie was killing the airwaves. But this Cammy track is on another level like Capcom had the composer/s in a laboratory carefully concocting this shit in a cauldron, precisely adding the necessary ingredients so that the music would penetrate every orifice of anyone’s speakers fortunate enough to play it, but then when the composer/s left the room to go take a piss some Capcom employee snuck in and dropped some Chemical X into the formula so that the track would be born with the hot fire gene and could truly dick down the speakers on some ultra-shag type shit and that’s how this wonderful composition was created.
anyway this song is good and Capcom should be proud of what they’ve accomplished.

Damn this is the coolest Cammy has ever looked, and her theme slaps too.
All of us Cammy mains know how that feeling when we're at the final round. It's so unbelievably hype and motivating in-game.
I'll keep saying it, that whole trailer along with this song if ANYBODY is old enough or ever played it. This character's aesthetic just has The Bouncer all over it.
