#nightwish #noise #reaction #musicreactions
Noise is about social media and the virtual life of people not enjoying real life, the noise is all you get from it. That is why the verse of "The Earth has a real voice, go out and get in". The last shot is basically showing people all trapped in virtual lives not looking around to the beauty of the real where they actually live while craving attention from strangers or having their lives dictated by unknowns in the social media. Basically: The real world vs the virtual world
Yeah but if reactor doesn't understand the song and the message.... well.. empty look at the end....
The end of the video says it all.
Unplug and have a look around at the beautiful world that is passing you by.
Nightwish doesn't make actual music videos often. When they do, it's always something to think of. Great reaction as always. Keep em' coming Rachel.
It's about never trusting what you see and hear on social media. The tree hugger who also bathes in oil. The Mother showing what an idyllic life she leads yet filming her child when she is crying etc etc. Always verify what you learn on social media before believing. For instance, recently a Utah mother and social media influencer, giving advice on parenting, was jailed for 4 years for starving and abusing her children.
You pretty much nailed it on the meaning of the song and video. One other thing that I take away from it that not many others have ever mentioned is how the last bit of the video shows the differences people put out to the public as opposed to what they are like when no one else is around and everything we put ourselves through to put on an everything is perfect and great, when in reality nothing is as it seems behind closed doors
Too busy being fed "noise" to see the real beauty that surrounds... Womb to the tomb
Beautiful song 😊
Thoumas' part of the song is making fun of the environmental activists that are also doing performative acts of trying to "save nature", while still engaging in all the destructive actions when it is convenient for them. (Like say politicians and super wealthy flying around in private jets while lecturing people about carbon emissions) Each member is poking fun at a specific aspect of modern society that relates to them that they try to avoid the pitfalls of themselves. Like Floor is very private about her children, but her character is flaunting them on social media.
And they was against nuclear power even if people told them that energy from fosil fuel is much worse.
You can see how Thoumas flip the nuclear from red to green.
Yes, each one of the band members is personifying an aspect of how fake social media is. Floor the mommy influencer who makes it look like she and her child are happy all the time when in actuality the child has no interest in it and would prefer their parent to just be a parent. Marko the pill popper who looks fantastic on social media but is strung out and miserable in real life. Tuomas the performative environmentalist who is actually damaging the earth more than the average person behind closed doors. You get the point. It's not only about social media, it's also about how unauthentic people are on social media.
I love the fact that the Finnish Social Media Influencer in this video ( the blond lady) agreed to parody herself for this video.
The comment about selling things that people don't need - I refused to go into retail (for computer parts) because I couldn't tell people that certain parts did a better job for half the price. As an instructor at uni for CompSci, schools want a unified book for curriculum. I refused to have students buy ANY book since most didn't come close to meeting the basic needs. I then recommended supplemental materials, made PPT presentations, videos, and even recommended short booklets that applied. To me, after paying high tuition, a school should offer free materials to learn the coursework. If the student doesn't use it, that's on them. Offering it in multiple formats allows the student to find what fits their needs best.
Not Floor bathing in oil. It was Tuomas, who was also presenting in his online personality as a true-hugger.
I believe she was reacting to Floor's vocals right before they showed Tuomas in the tub.
That's part of the beauty of Nightwish, their lyrics make you THINK
Tuomas doesn't write average songs, there's always sprinkles serious, darker topics that need to be addressed
It's not so complicated. Spending your life in a virtual reality, while the real beauty is in front of you.
True, but it's not just about real world vs virtual, it's also a message about the ridiculousness of what is in the virtual, from the virtue signalling "tree huggers" to getting "cancelled" for having a different opinion etc.
There's nothing wrong with a bit of "virtual existence" as long as you don't let the stupidity of others inside your own real character.
I love how mad Floor sounds, especially live!
🤗🍒🤘🏻😘 well done again as always
I think this oil reference is about How most of things running with oil, but also this bathing in oil is just kind of hard truth that many soaps and shampoos, facial creams and make ups are in fact made of oil. Technically, most of the people are bathing in oil water, every day.
U know. Smart and emphatic
It's about a beauty of life,nature, love..eaven of You❤😊
I still say the very brief image of Floor with a mega phone directed at a child is terrifying. Can you imagine Floor directing that power AT someone ?
Thanks
okay HOW COOL is this!!!!!!!
Video crudo, real y lamentablemente la situación mundial es crítica a nivel social y mental.
Enjoyed the reaction. Song is about peoples addiction to social media and the false images people put up on socail meda in order to get approval or validation. Each of the characters shows one face on social media and acts differently in private. Others have pointed out hte dichotomy of each charachter. Emppu's phone turning red and then everyone around him attacking him is symbolizing the group think of social media. He has accessed information or expressed an opinion that the social media has deemed unacceptable and then he is attcked or canceled for having radical ideas. Tuomas is big on people thinking for themselves and using critical thinking skills so I am sure he detests the group think so many in society exhibit. Watched a reaction of this video by a director of movies and videos and she pointed out that if you look at the wall coverings (like above the mirror) it has a repeating pattern of hexagons just like the cell walls inside a bee hive, i.e. a hive mind. Another detail to drive home the exhortation to think for yourself and not be a drone in the hive mind. The blond model is actually a Finnish instagram model and influencer so super cool to see her in a video that criticizes what she does.
Here is Tuomas's thoughts on noise from an interview.
"Noise is a reminder. It's some food for thought. I see it more as an optimistic video than pessimistic. Especially the last 10 seconds of the video, when you see the beautiful forest and the landscape, it should fill you with hope the real world is still out there.⠀
⠀
This video is not a criticism about technology or cell phones. Me, all the bandmembers, we love technology. We wouldn't ever have done this record without technology. We love our cell phones, the Internet and all that, but it's a criticism for the addiction that these things cause in human beings. 'Addiction' is the word.⠀
⠀
It's such a shame that we have all these wonderful tools that we can for the good, to spread true information and to be connected to the world. I love the idea of social media, I like Twitter, that everybody in the world suddenly has a voice; we have a voice. We can immediately get out there. It's just a matter of what you put out there. And that's what the video is all about."⠀
how I read it is that it's about social media addiction and influencer culture .
Now that we are on this topic, the next video would be quite appropriate MUSE - COMPLIANCE.
Anyone else get 21st Century Blood {The Warning) vibes from this?
The light going red on Empu is a genius way of portraying cancel culture.
Smart vídeo.
Wait, why did I think this was going to be a reaction to "Perfume of the Timeless? I'm not complaining, though. 👏 Emppu was the guy who discovered "an inconvient truth" online and had to be silenced.
"COUNTLESS LIES!"
Red is beeing different. U get beaten. Sick
It was a great portrayal of cancel culture. He texted something the mob didn't like, so he got stabbed, while other took selfies of that crime.
I don’t believe it’s an homage to tree protesters. I think it’s making fun of the fact that theyre taking pictures of themselves with nature rather than actually doing something helpful for nature.
The phrase is "virtue signaling".
The phrase "Touch grass" summed up in 6 minutes or less...
That's what you get when people see only social media, ................. they don't even see the clou of a video, that shows what social media does whit them!!!!???
It's simple: it's a parody of any/all people who allow themselves to get caught up in the noise. It's also a little laughingly criticizing people who don't like it when someone breaks from the crowd.
It was a metaphorical portrayal of cancel culture. The mob didn't like what Empu was texting, so he was stabbed.
@@wikingagresor So you're trying to cancel, cancel culture? Every decade has a thing someone doesn't want to see/accept. Back in the 60s it was the south that didn't want to see a white man kiss a black woman. Almost got Star Trek cancelled. You can please all the people none of the time.
Hi Rachel, greetings from UK
The answer was 2 😁
Good reaction . a reactor named Mrs. Realistic had best analysis of this song very recently if interested.
It’d be interesting to see a cattle decapitation reaction

React To the video Gabriel Henrique - Stand up, please
the manpower pills have nothing to do with literally man in power, more like take this (steroids for instance) and you'll be a real man/woman. ( And then in the years afterwards dealing with depression, and a whole plethora of issues. )
Just like the other bottle of "Fat Away" for the many questionable diet industry/pill promotions online.
@@ecbftl yep. All the same , disasters in different packages
You are perfect!
That's Floor's daughter Freja with her in the video.
That little girl was an actress. It wasn't Freja , she was only 3 when the video came out.
@@chriso6719 Floor confirmed it herself.
@@TheMM1215 I don't know where you got that from. That girl is too old to be her daughter at that time, and Floor is very protective of her kids, she doesn't let pictures or videos of them out into the public.
no, not Freya, Floor and Hans are very protective of Freya and Lucy's privacy, and never show their faces.
Ray..super hot chick..js❤
