    I've traveled to Czech republic many times to Karlsbad and Marienbad. I've purchased many Bohemian Crystal there and love the beer, food, culture and scenery. This was a well made, educational video.

    I bought some crystal wine glass when I was in Slovenia. I loved them but now I appreciate how they where made. Thank you so much for this video.

    This is why every time I see glass work in consignment shops I die a little inside because they are all a work of art. I can't stop collecting beautiful pieces of glass to create my own curtain. It's lavish and I've been buying pieces throughout my life and I hope to pass it down to my brother's child since I don't have a child myself.

    Most amazing. The work involved with Crystal glass is much more then I had aforehand known. It is really quite mind blowing. Incredible pieces of handcrafted beauty. Was most assuredly worth watching.

    Thank you for the video of this amazing process. I'm going back to Prague this year, having been there once last year and loved it, and want to see more about the glass. I do agree with a comment below about the music that is sometimes intrusive. Didn't notice the "t"s at all!

    This video is perfectly good, no complaints. I love all things Czech. This narrator’s pronunciation of the letter “t” is simply bizarre, though. I’ve never heart anything like it! It’s absolutely nuts. I had to log in just to comment.

    You ever experiment on ways of removing bubbles? Loosening vacuum-effect, when pressing into molds? Maybe collander/wafer-molds? 🤷(for lampwork paperwieghts) or before drawing molten crystal out from furnace dose it with activated carbon?

    7:30-7:42 that's hyperbaric-chamber type stuff, on the global-level, environmental-psionics.
    Air bubbles bad,
    unless it's the desired "effect"..

    Very beautiful work, Bohemian glass is my favorite, but I always thought Bohemian glass was lead free, because of some other minerals they used to make it....

    • @valken666
      @valken666 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Let it sit with wine or citrus juice for a few years. Lead leaches less and less as used. Never let anything you will consume in it for more than a few hours, and you should be fine.

    • @DecisionPlay
      @DecisionPlay 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Well it is and it is not. The traditional way to make the crystal glass use lead to make it. Its suited better for decorative purposes because using lead in the process of making the glass allows for more precise cuts later when finishing the look. You can still use it for food and drinks just dont let it in it for a long time. The more modern method is lead free and thus is suited better for your "every day usage" as plates, glasses etc. Both methods achieve about equal quality the only difference is the traditional way makes the more suitable for artistic usage.

    Anyone know if you can put lead crystal glasses in the freezer?

    • @spiritchannel
      @spiritchannel 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would avoid doing this, as extremes of temperature, either hot or cold, can cause crystal to shatter. When washing crystal, only hand-wash in warm (not hot) water, again avoiding extremes of temperature. Rinse in warm water, not cold. I once had a precious Waterford bowl break because I washed in hot water, and as it dried it cracked when a cold air draft hit it.

      Use lead crystal for serving, but not for storing edibles. It does leach small amounts of lead over time and if you regularly eat/drink food that has been sitting days in it, the lead exposure will eventually add up enough to matter.
