Thank you for posting I just bought a White 1908-1910 with all the accessories , bobbins , including the original manual but your videos are making it come to life !
Thank you for having this video, l learn thins that using an electric you don’t worry about. I have my white servicing and can’t wait to start using it, so I can use all the help you can offer thank you so much. I will be following you for any more videos ❤❤❤❤❤🎉
I look forward to sewing with my various White Rotary's this winter when I get back into indoors projects. Reminds me I have some grocery and other bags to re-use sock/sleeves to sew for my Mom sooner than later.
Thank you for sharing I just got 2 of the machines to restore and I don’t know anything about them. I’m new to your channel God bless you and your family keep up the good work.
I am so happy and thankful that I've discovered this channel! This video is very helpful. It's answered most of my questions but I was wondering if you could do a video on what happens if your belt is too loose, needing replaced; and what to do along with other trouble shooting issues. Thank you sooo much!
That's a great idea for a video and my belt actually due for an adjustment so I've been planning on making a video about it. I'll make it my next video project!
If the belt keeps slipping off I would first check if the belt is correctly threaded onto everything, if the belt goes past the hole in the covering for the bottom flywheel then put it in that hole, tightening the belt is fairly easy and may need to be done every few years, some used ones may have a leather working poke for it- just unhook the belt, trim it, poke it, and your done!
Thank you for this video! It was so helpful! I’m used on sewing towards me not away. I have a Singer 24-7 and it works away like a white. I will try to use a treadle with it and needed to figure out how to get it to work backwards. Thank you again!!
Help! Could you please show a picture of the cabinet and under the cabinet. I have a 1927 Etonia with a chain lift on the cabinet. I took it all apart to refurbish the machine and cabinet. I didn’t take pictures first as I saw so many machines on line. Stupid me. Very few with a chain lift and I don’t remember where all the pieces go. Can you help me?
You can find a free online version of the users manual here ismacs.net/white/manuals/white-rotary.pdf I got a cheap belt off Amazon but the seller I got mine from isn't there anymore. It wasn't anything fancy though. Mine is a 3/16" diameter leather belt that's about 6 feet long
If you happen to have one of these and find that you can’t really find out how to attach a buttonholer then you have to remove the attachment that you put the foot in, and attach it directly to the shank
I notice you have the guide on yours. I have this as well but it's not on the machine. Did you by chance have to get a washer or two to put under the screw? I cannot tighten the screw enough to get the guide to stay in position. Are you going to do any videos on the attachments that come with it? Thanks!
I did! I couldn't find a thick enough washer so I've got a few stacked between the screw and the guide. I definitely plan to do some videos about the attachments.
@@whitetreadlesewingmachine8221 thank you! I'll be following for sure! I just replaced my belt. Treadleing it is crazy.. I spin but it don't work like my spinning wheels! 🤣🤣
WHITE Directions BOOK 6 for my 1897 WHITE Vibrating Shuttle Treadle, Page 5 Says Pull The Flywheel TOWARDS You, listed in "THE TREADLE MOVEMENT" and "TO OPERATE THE MACHINE" My machine runs absolutely beautiful with the fly-wheel spinning towards me. It must be only the "Vibrating Shuttles" fly-wheel turns towards you, as mine is.
Interesting! I've always heard that White flywheels move away from you and Singer flywheels move towards you. They must have changed sometime between 1897 and 1913!
Yes! I have the same white as you. It’s different than the “rotary” version and our flywheel does spin towards us. Which confused the heck out of me when I started using it because I kept reading that whites spun away from us. 😆.
I have a White 1906-1913 and also have to move the wheel towards me....was confusing because i also heard to move it away with White. 🤷♀️@@whitetreadlesewingmachine8221
Indeed I do prefer the treadle. You have absolute control. :)

How much did you pay for it?

I’m so thankful for these videos! I have a lovely old machine but only recently got interested in actually using it. I hope we’ll see more from you! ❤

Very informative! For ANY treadle sewing machine!
Thank you so much. Your video is full of wonderful tips. I just got my first treadle machine.

very helpful tutorial. clear, easy to follow instruction.
These videos are great! It may be good to show how to backstich though (you slightly raise the foot and pull the fabric back)

I have a similar White VS3. However i have to move the wheel towards me to sew...why? Should I check for something set up wrong?
Thank you.
Thank you!
Thank you
We recently bought one of these machines but can't find a user manual anywhere!!! I need a belt, too.
