Hi, It's Muriel! I vet all the experiences and properties for my trips in Southeast Asia. This video provides a hotel tour and review of my stay at the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi and at the end I give my overall impression and things to keep in mind.
Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi is a historic luxury hotel located in the Old Quarters of Hanoi, Vietnam. Established in 1901, the original, Heritage Wing, is known for its French colonial architecture, elegant interiors, and a rich history that includes hosting numerous celebrities, politicians, and writers. A new wing, Opera Wing, was built in 1996 with its neo classical design.
The hotel’s Heritage Wing was recently renovated in 2023 and now, the hotel has a total of 358 rooms and suites. It features several dining options, a spa, a swimming pool, and a well-preserved wartime bunker that only in-house guests can tour. The Metropole combines traditional Vietnamese hospitality with modern amenities, offering a unique blend of old-world charm and contemporary comfort. It is also a nice base for exploring the Old town and Hoan Kiem Lake which are walking distance from the property.
Did you know that the Vietnamese Egg Coffee was created in this hotel in 1940?

Hi! We will be staying there next week for 4 nights and we will be staying in the opera wing. Do they give hotel tours and room viewing for their guests?

Hi, I am not aware of room viewing tours, but they do have an exclusive historical tour for guests led by a historian about the underground bunker. Please book with the concierge at either wing as there is limited capacity. Enjoy your stay!
