Kuala Lumpur is the massive capital city of Malaysia and home to over 8 million people. The city is full of iconic architecture, world class shopping centers, and incredible street food. But if you have a few extra days and want to get out of the city center, these are a few worthwhile day trips to significant religious sites. First is Batu Caves, the most important Hindu site outside of India, and I just so happened to be there during its largest celebration. Then not far from city center is Thean Hou temple, one of the largest Chinese temples in Southeast Asia. And lastly is the Pink Mosque, a magnificent, brightly colored dome an hour outside the city. It was a couple days full of surprise cultural experiences and awe inspiring sites, and here’s how it went…
