I liked the Robbie's Clones arc, where Robbie's clones rip Stingy apart, and Sportacus spends 10 episodes trying to find the Dragon Balls to get Stingy back.
In my most humble opinion, I believe that this Apple got the most character development and was one of the best characters in the whole anime, second only to one of the best villains ever, Robbie. The way the anime portrayed his personality completely captured his advanced intellect and his tragic backstory. Truly, a masterpiece.
The manga was actually the backstory of Robbie and expressed political and religious themes on how humans react on a world of both sides of laziness and fitness.
The manga has much less of an "arthouse" style than the anime. The story in the manga is much more literal, which can be appreciated by the fans who don't have the time to analyze the metric ton of content that is shown in the anime.
Cory in the House came close, but no anime has been able to top this one in terms of art, characters, and the crisp, consistent animation. I just wish there was another season, but the manga has been on hiatus since forever :(

I gotta say Robbie’s arc is probably my favorite. He really is Number one. Who knew HE was the actual protagonist? Also the whole power up Stephanie got? It was so out of the blue, and yet executed perfectly. I love the character development that Stingy got! Both him and the mayor got screen time, which made me happy. I was so sad when Robbie killed Sporticus on episode seven. I cried a little. After manga chapter 69, it went on hiatus and I’m still waiting for it to come back.

Stephanie and Stingy arrive at Lazy Town and can only watch in shock awe as Robbie Rotten has finally the whole world into candies, then Stingy begins to choke Stephanie as he believes she has been an awful person, and because he had to kill his one true love, Ziggy, because he was secretly plotting with Robbie Rotten. Now they can only wait for death.
