On Saturday we're picking up her new 19 Cherokee Limited with Technology package. 2 Jeeps.. I would NEVER have thought. Always Japanese or Korean. Screw practical, I wanted a top of the line Wrangler and my wife a Cherokee. Like so many people say, you only live once. So we think.
Ive had a 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk for 4+ years and absolutely LOVE the vehicle on and off road. I'm about to order the 2019 version with a turbo. Thanks for the review.
My mom has a 2017 Chrysler 200 S Awd with the same 9 speed transmission her dealership had updated the transmission and it’s better than when she bought it and she’s thinking about buying a Alfa Romeo Stelvio or Dodge Durango soon
@BannedPlayer The 2019 blows the doors off my old one! The engine is awesome and the transmission so much better. Suspension too, great. I'm so glad I got the newer vehicle because it's massive improvement.
Nice summary about the car, though the front and rear changes you criticised were highlights that prompted me to buy a 2019. Sold my 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk to buy a 2019 back in March, something I thought I'd never do in my life, sell a car after only a couple years. "You only live once," was my rationalization. Anyway, very pleased with my stock 2019 Cherokee Trailhawk Elite, no regrets. Handles great on unpaved roads in nearby national forests and amazing on sketchy unpaved roads around Death Valley NP, dry or muddy. Plus very comfortable rides on highways and freeways getting to those destinations.
I had a 2000 Ford Escort SE sedan with a 2.0 liter that holds 5 1/2 quarts of oil. It is a descent engine for a tiny car but to small for a suv or truck.
I like the new rear end much more than prev gen. BTW I owned a '14 TH...sold it bc the 9-speed was literally the worst A/T I ever experienced, along with having a steering wheel that was set like a school-bus with little adjustability. seriously.
Can you explain why all different engines have the same fuel consumption?. I had the 3.6 v6 pentastar grandcherokee... Now I have a 2.4 tigershark 2015 cherokee (4wd) and you tell the 2.0 turbo has 22 mpg... All the same... So whats the benefit of smaller engines?!
All the changes to the 2019 Cherokee are definite improvements even the cosmetic design changes. And if indeed Jeep has worked out all the bugs with the nine speed transmission, then this is a definite contender. But I won’t buy one till I’m fairly sure of that.
4:04 Well okay, that's what the sales video says, but what it also does is it attracts more heat into the engine bay, which is exactly what you'd want to prevent. I'd rather have a bit of glare off road than pulling in more heat into the engine bay anytime the sun shines. Good review otherwise.
MotorScotti I hardly think the decal on the hood is adding any significant heat to the engine bay. Mine runs cool as a cucumber whether its sunny or not. Sheesh, some people will think of any stupid thing to try to refute a youtube video.

Actually, you cant switch. They are always in on demand four wheel, with a FWD bias. In other words, if the car is driving normally, it will basically be FWD. If it senses a loss of traction, it will kick power to the rear. The Trailhawk also has 4x4 low, which is full time 4x4, and a rear diff locker that locks both rear wheels together.
This vehicle, and all of the Trailhawks, prove form over function is the main purchasing driver. Being in the PNW way more Subaru's running around dirty here. These sparkle in mall parking lots. 🤷♂️

Just got my 2020 turbo. For the modifying men in here, I put a piece of intake pipe and removed the factory airbox. The turbo sounds beautiful
Is the 2L turbo reliable ?
Love my 17 Trailhawk. The bumper with low license plate gives a nice step for my dog !
The 2022 Jeep Wrangler with the 2.0L Turbo is also very good now that the 2.0L turbo engine has been added to the lineup

#1 Issue I had: LAG... what seemed like a 2 second lag and it made things unpleasantly interesting at times

it has more torque and is lighter.... so better handling I also believe the turbo i4 has a wider torque band and show up with a much faster 0-60 speed

I had one... a 14 and the best part about it was the Locker and it's aggressive AWD... it impressed me and I'm generslly a wrangler guy.
