- In today's video, I head out with my two favourite lenses.
When it comes to all genres of photography most people have a favourite focal length they use more than others. The lenses I take out in today's video are always my go-to lenses for the street.

Superb walk around marvellous shots.
Thank you 😊👍
What a great video. I really love it.
Good to hear, thanks 😊👍
Sad news regards the job mate.
I always love your street photography style, so I was glad to see this video pop up today.
Thank you 😊
Pleased you enjoyed the video👍
Quite a bonus Brian. Two vlogs in a fortnight. You always know in advance the type of shot you want and you get it.Your street photography is as good as anything out there.Looking forward to your next video.
Always a pleasure to hear.
Thanks Jim 😊👍
Sorry to hear you lost your job. Thanks for this video. Street Photography has always left me out in the cold, I never really have gotten it. You do a great job breaking it down and bringing me some perspective. Keep up the great photography.
Thats to hear Ken 😊👍
Street photography is a small niche, but glad I could help give you some perspective around street photography.
Thanks 😊
Great shots. Wishing you the best.
Thank you 😊👍
Really sorry you have lost your job. Wish to get back on track quick with a much better one! Have a great time at home in the UK.
Thank you 😊 👍
A 14mm Lens and a 35mm Lens is a great combo for street/urban and for landscape/nature photography.
There always in my bag 😊👍
@@BriBarnhamPhotography I also have the Sony 14mm 1.8 GM which is a great Lens, but if a manual focus 14mm with the same image quality turns up and it is more compact, I will prefer a more compact Lens, that is also why I have the Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 35mm 2.0 Aspherical and not the Sony 35mm 1.4 GM Lens.
Hoping the new job comes quick and it's a better fit for you
Thank you 😊👍
Nice! Another interesting one Brian...very informative! Sorry to hear about your job.....bus drivers needed I see!! I'll maybe catch up with you in UK...
Thanks Janice 😊👍
Just masterful, Bri! As a fellow street photographer it was really interesting to hear you talk through the pre-visualization of your shots and to see how you let the light guide you. You could really say there is no accident or luck in these great shots - it’s all skill and your eye guiding you. My process is completely different. While I do sometimes pick a spot with good light and pre-visualize an interesting composition, I tend instead to be more spontaneous and chaotic. I look for human subjects just as much as I look for light, and there is more chance involved and plenty of throwaway shots. I look forward to trying your more deliberate approach when we hopefully go shooting together in Vancouver sometime. It’s Jon Grall btw, nevermind the username 🤣
Very kind of you, thanks Jon😊👍
Always good to see how others go about their own photography, loved your images from your recent trip, bravo😊👏 Look forward to getting together in the future sometime.
I think latitude definitely makes a difference here. Vancouver's winter light (or to a lesser extent Minnesota where I am) has a vastly different light from the sun from December to, say July. Someone in Florida or Southern California will see a less striking difference (although there always will be some difference with the shadows)
Good point 👍
Your videos are always interesting Brian, with some great photography
I've moved over to street recently becoming a bit bored with landscapes
Wishing you all the best for the future 📷👍
That’s great, it is nice to be able to switch from time to time.
Glad you enjoyed the video 👍😊
I am so sorry you lost your job. I once experienced the same thing just before Christmas. It is a shitty way to end the year. I hope you wil find a new job soon, maybe even a better one:). Enjoy your stay with your family in England :).
Thank you 🙏 😊
Came back to this one after I watched your 85mm video Bri. I haven’t tried street at all do you think The Grumps would ever accompany you doing Street? I really like how descriptive you are when it comes to your street photography and how you discuss the light especially when it’s reflected light onto opposite buildings etc. Finally great choice of music really matched the city feel. I have to say you’re a natural teacher, you seem so confident in front of camera especially with so many people about? Sorry to hear you’ve lost your job but glad to know you’ve got better things to do than work pal! Enjoy Blighty and Xmas.
Cheers Carl 😊👍
Not sure Grumpton could be talked into doing street photography lol, I have already tried 🤣
Pleased you enjoyed the video👍
Have a wonderful time with family and hopefully the jobs scene will open up in the new year.
I love your perspective on street photography
Very kind of you to say thank you 😊 👍
Brilliant work as always. The 14gm & 35gm are two of my favorite lenses. I often go out with just those two. I think the 14mm often gets overlooked because of the zooms in this range, but it really is outstanding. Enjoy the holidays and everything else will fall into place.
There two brilliant lenses 👍😊
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Too bad with the work scene. Might have to look in other parts for work as there is opportunity out there. Good luck! Have fun back home!!
Cheers for that Rob 😊👍
Sorry to hear about the job, Brian, and great that you’ll be home for Christmas. I have been wanting to ask this for ages and I will understand if you’d rather not answer but where is home? I’ve been trying to place your accent and failing.
Thanks Bill 😊👍
I’m originally from Carlisle in the Northwest of the UK.
@@BriBarnhamPhotography Chester-le-Street in County Durham for me. I did wonder about that side of the Pennines for you.
What I can’t get my head round with the Carlisle accent is that seems to have more in common with the north-eastern accent (I hesitate to use the term Geordie - that’s one for the pedants) than the Cumbrian as heard around the Lakes.
@@billwinward9324 Well I guess Carlisle isn’t far from Newcastle lol 😂
Great pictures. I also like your music. Sorry about your work, you will get a new one.
Much appreciated thank you 😊
