I know it’s probably a challenge to handle copyright challenges, but it would help to have clips of each song as you’re talking about them
Yeah, in a perfect world I would include snippets of every song I discuss, or have it playing underneath the segment. Someday if I start making content on Nebula or Patreon or another platform like that, I'd love to start adding this stuff

I like to sing along to songs so i like ones with vocals and lyrics that i love
I also like some for just being straight up badass
I also came to be super in love with alter bridge after suffering a lot of loss and the meaning and empathy conveyed in the lyrics on certain songs were just amazing
thats why i loved godspeed, and my champion, watch over you so much (and blackbird, and wonderful life, i know it hurts, all ends well, and others)

@@count3rcultured I just don’t think it needed to be a single when it’s not a good representative of the album as a whole. Nothing else on the album has that kind of low energy.
Ghost of Days Gone By works just fine for me because there are more like that, with Fallout, Breathe Again, Life Must Go On, etc. But Blackbird, not so much. Before Tomorrow Comes works better as a representation of the more melodic moments. It’s why Achilles stays strong for me since Fortress is a more progressive album, and it’s a good flagship for everything there.
Exactly why I love it. There are parts of Before Tomorrow Comes & Blackbird that sort of have similar vibes. I've always been a huge fan of BTC and Brand New Start.
Also, I think the open tuning follows tracks like Broken Wings and In Loving Memory etc from the debut record.
I'm also a huge fan of Mark's desire for consistency - not necessarily still being Creed as there isn't that collaboration with Stapp anymore but Kennedy who seems more stable yet intellectually doubting and emotionally struggling as opposed to Stapp's vicious substance abuse alongside his faith and hope.
Dude, Myles “macho” voice is WAY better than his nasal squawky voice. Totally disagree on Find the Real. Definitely A tier.

I feel like ABIII and The Last Hero are completely overrated. The former was my least fav album until The Last Hero dropped. And I still don’t know a single song from that album by heart. I just don’t care for it. Does it mean it’s bad? Nope. Just not my choice.
Interesting, I've never heard someone feel that way about ABIII before! Always a good reminder that everything is subjective and people will have their likes and dislikes

I don't like saying everything is subjective. Nevertheless, I can understand how AB3 may be underwhelming to others. Yet it was my favorite and then Blackbird. I've been rather resistant to the last few and more partial to the first 3.
@@christianevans5471 I think a lot of factors come in to play when it comes to liking or not liking a piece of music. The first 2 albums where pinnacle moments in life for me. So I typically cling to those. Especially the overall sound and feel for them. I thought isolation was a killer first single and had hopes for the whole album. I just wasn’t feeling it after hearing the whole album. Walk the Sky, to me, is a solid combination of every album up to that point. In particular the first 2.

Holiday has the unenviable distinction of being the first (and only) Alter Bridge song I just flat out don't like. Just something about the guitar and general feel of the song turned me away from it.

i have a totally different ranking for ALL of these
godspeed for example was one of the ones that got me back into alter bridge, its deeply personal and emotional, and beautiful
i also put cry of achilles higher, addicted to pain isn't even favorited for me

Little late commenting, but have you heard the radio edit of Cry Of Achilles? That would drop it down to D tier as a single, although it's an S tier song otherwise.
Also, funny that you say Open Your Eyes has been played nonstop, when I saw one of the shows where they dropped it on the most recent tour.

A - Isolation, Addicted The Pain, Watch Over You and Ghost of Days Gone By.
B - Cry of Achilles, Before Tomorow Comes, Wouldn't You Rather, Silver Tongue and Rise Today.
C - Broken Wings and Native Son.
D - My Champion, Find the Real, Godspeed and Holiday.

What's the difference between a commercial single and promotional? Would commercial be the tracks on radio and with a music video, like this is war being promotional while holiday being commercial?
I'm not 100% sure myself, but I think commercial singles are ones selected by the publishers to be pushed heavily for radio and music charts to be standalone songs. They usually have bigger budgets for music videos as well, but not always. Promotional singles are specifically to promote an album, so they don't get much attention after their initial announcement
You missed out Cradle To The Grave and Pawns And Kings
Cradle To The Grave is a great song but shouldn't of been a single as they've never performed it live. That video which captured them at the 02 arena should of been Crows On A Wire.
Pawns And Kings is a fantastic song but again maybe to complex as a single.
