From personal experience; This is an absolute masterpiece! It works better than one could imagine, and the capacity to handle uniformly raked hay is truly impressive. The simplicity of the design is truly impressive.
Ran 1 last week in Idaho, baled over 37,000 bales with 1 never missed a bead and brother in law said he's probably close to over 125,000 through it still never missed a bead, unbelievable. Love it.
Where I work, we took a similar baler and scaled the pickup and entire baling chamber down to work for pine straw. I spent many hours inside of it welding. Not fun to work on, but they’re incredible machines
Phillip Saunders I agree 100%. My grandpa was a farmer. I really enjoyed visiting ! The problem is family farms is they can't feed everyone, today. That requires a corporation, as much as I hate to say that. It would be great if government would enact laws enabling the family farm, not only survive but also flourish, to compete with the corporate farms on a local level. The local community would have to diligently support the farmers. Meaning allow local government to zone , without a fight, the land appropriately. The local people would have to willing to accept the sights, sounds, and smells of a farm.
One of the toughest jobs i ever did to this day. Bob self said you had to be at lest 12 years old to help picking up and storing the bales. I earned 20 dollars a day and he let the five of us kids to share a bottle of beer. God damn it those where the days
I'm surprised they still make these anymore they have definitely become a niche farming tool. Please tell me the lowering of the pickup spring teeth is not hand crank. I hope that is the setting of the initial height!
Excellent work guys! This is pure gold in it's purest form .9999! The way this work of art came full circle at the end was a plethora of cinematic genius! The ups the downs... Just, an amazing piece! Keep up the excellent work and absolutely can not wait until the next adventure!
This is for dry forage. Usually grass or alfalfa. The procedure is, first the forage is cut and laid out in a windrow to dry in the sun. The forage is then baled when it is dry.
Sort your market first, only useful if small bales are what your custom base wants. Big balers are much much faster and you can cover ground up to 10 times faster. Then transport is more efficient, but you can bundle these with something like the Bale Bandit, that bundles 21 small bales into one big 4x4x8 bale or 3X4x8 feet bale (1.2x1.2x2.4m or 1.2x0.9x2.4m). You're wasting your time with a small bale baler, unless that is what the customer wants.
Every time a flake is put up into the bale chamber there is a bunch of hay dust that blows up and settles in the knotter mechanism. The fan blows down on the knotters to keep that dust moving out the back rather than settling on the knotter. It prolongs their life and helps them work better with fewer missed ties. The baler will run fine for a long time without the knotter fan as long as the operator blows them out periodically.
Hello! A dealer near you would be happy to help with a quote. You can find your nearest dealer using our dealer locator here: www.masseyferguson.us/find-a-dealer.html. Have a great day!
It is worth noting that the knotting system is exactly the same as appeared on the first binders in the late 1880s. No one has manage to improve on it. If you watch one working you cannot make out how it works because it operates at such a high speed. Even watching a slowed down video it is difficult to grasp it. Imagine what sort of mind the Victorian inventor must have had !
Powerful, comfortable, and reliable tractors can withstand the pressure of aggressive work without any problems.
