Our team just had an Ask an Expert Airtable support session and interface forms does support dynamic filtering and user added "Other" options to the list for future selection. It is set up a bit different than illustrated here, and we are now using it successfully. Game changer for our use case.
Do you have more information about what fields are available? I can't seem to determine why some fields are available for filtering and others aren't, and my experience is not matching the airtable documentation.
Exciting. But gotta have it for interfaces and forms so that’s got to be coming soon I hope. I don’t know if you also experienced it but I have lost the ability to select records and drop downs from interfaces forms. We put in a ticket on it and they said they were rolling out a fix this week but still not working as of today.
in which video that teach me how to categorize patients who come in regristration table, then in service field can choose A, B, or D. Next, automaticaly link them to other tables A, B and D based on service field in registration table??
Great to know, thanks for the update. Just subscribed, but as a friendly feedback, this video could have been a 30-second short. I do hope to see much shorter videos in the future!
If you set up the filter on the base, but not on the form, what will happen if someone violates the rule when doing entry on a form. In other words, if someone selects England as the country on the form but Paris as the city for a submission, what happens?
I went to my other base on my team plan and it has the Dynamic filtering, and yes if you set it up at the base level it is inherited on forms (both new and old). You therefore don't have to repeat the set up on the form itself.
Being that no one works in the back end anymore what would be the point in having a dynamic filter in airtable that is functional on the front end....... asking for a friend....
I'm just curious. The Airtable documentation has a section under "Limitations" for "Dynamic Filters in Forms". But it doesn't say it's not available in forms. Do you think setting up dynamic filtering in the base will automatically pass it through to the form? I was trying to test it, but it's not available in my Enterprise account yet.
Thanks! I'm still hoping it's just not completely rolled out yet because the documentation does say "Filters can be applied anywhere in bases and interfaces where linked records can be selected."

That is what we called tutorials! thanks for informing on "countries" and "country"
Man, I got this pop up this afternoon and it’s now 23:00. I just made sure to watch the video because we were waiting for years on this 🎉

Amazing! So glad you got the results you needed!!!

Great news!!

Awesome! How do you automatically populate the filtered linked options?
You can build automations to tackle this for you - the exact process for you would largely depend on your process and requirements

I dont have that Dynamic Filtering((( I have a Team plan.... Anyway thank you so much Gareth!
Ditto ;-/
@@HeatherHale 21.03.2024 something happened and it has worked already
But when is it going to work on mobile?
Great news🎉
The forms thing is disappointing, hopefully its coming. Does seem to be available on the Interfaces though with record details.
Does this work with softr?
Unfortunately not. I believe that's what we're all waiting on really. It only filters the options in Airtable's GUI, but not in the API
@@cabinetsplusanddesign didn’t softer recently release something similar that does the same or am I hallucinating functions?
Only works in Airtable. Softr would need to make this feature on their tool
@@jameslangley2196 Yes, global data permissions in softr can help with better records filtering.

😅😅😅 As going to ask the same. Also for a friend

I believe the documentation does state that forms are not supported

It looks to me like the setup at the base level is inherited by the forms. @@jodybruce9
Not available on my paid plan
What plan is that? It works on my teams plan, which is the lowest paid plan Airtable currently offers
Yes, I don't see it either
It didn't work on mine either, but I set up a new base and then had the functionality.
The option slowly started appearing base after base for me. I'm guessing it takes some time to be rolled out fully.
@@jodybruce9 I did the same but nothing happened
OMG my only concern is finally resolved.
Such a great new feature!
Blah… my Snoopy response when I hear it doesn’t work with forms.
We still have Fillout forms to solve that problem! Although I agree it's unfortunate that it's not a native option
I want to stress here that FillOut has already included this in their forms no?
