Matt Pfahlert speach on Social Enterprise

Matt Pfahlert is the CEO of ACRE (Australian Centre for Rural Enterprise). Matt is personally and professionally committed to supporting rural communities to develop capacity and capabilities from within using existing assets and new knowledge to build thriving communities.
In order to achieve far greater impact as an organisation, ACRE is now working to tackle the systemic barriers that prevent rural communities from thriving.
Matts Fellowship focused on two areas of skills enhancement that will support this; How to accelerate our Social enterprise ecosystem through learning from others and Community Asset ownership and Development Trusts that support rural and regional communities
Matt has spent most of his career on approaches that are grass roots and bottom up but acknowledges that to achieve greater impact he
needs to look at the entire ecosystem whilst advocating for a top-down approach at the same time. “I believe this is the only way to get things happening more quickly in rural Australia.”
