Panganiban! It’s pronounced PA-NGA-NI-BAN. It takes a broad minded person to be cheerful. In some place in the Visayas, HUMAY is newly harvested unmilled rice. BUGAS is milled ready-to-cook rice. KANON is cooked rice. Great vlog!

😀 The watchtower near the church is actually used for the "Ton-ton" or "The Descent". Its a Catholic Holy Week ritual depicting the meeting of the risen Christ and Mother Mary along with child angels descending from the heavens 😊

I was in Catanduanes as a member of the Philippine Army Engineers that started and built the road from Bagamanoc to Pandan way back on 1967, stayed there for about 8 months before my re-assignment to main headquarters but enjoyed my time there with nice people especially girls.

Evokes a feeling of the simplicity of living, a calmness of the way of life there, and very contemplative. It really touches the soul.
Typhoons actually preserved the beauty of Catanduanes towns. The population remained small because the excess left town so there was no overflow of people that could have created informal settlements, the towns retained the original quadricula street grids that the Spaniards designed Philippine towns with so they look very organized & picture-perfect, no topsy-turvy congested informal settlements like in the bursting towns of the overly populated areas of the country. Blessing in disguise.

I’m from Quezon province. When we say maluto, it’s a packed lunch. For example, when I was growing up, I used to bring cooked white rice with Chicken or pork adobo wrapped in banana leaves with sliced tomatoes for my lunch in grade and high school. Beats the cafeteria food.
I think i have 7 subscribed in you tube, but I like to watched to u'r channel in every vlog, I like the adventure in every places you go with Jandy, it is have litle information about the places you visited and it's more fun, I think you Kulas is cool guy I can see in u'r face and Jandy also I like u'r partnership in road trip.

In USA they would have a vehicle in front of a tall truck with a fiberglass pole on front that would touch any wires the same height of the truck behind it. The pole will be very flexible and bend if it touches a wire. Then the truck behind the pole vehicle will stop if wires too low.
