  • Ilya Kelmanovich, who was born in 1930 and was living in Kamenets-Podolsk during the war years, testifies how in August 1941 he and his family, along with other Jews of Kamenets-Podolsk, were taken from the ghetto to a field near the munitions depot on the northern outskirts of the city. Kelmanovich describes how, after a selection had been carried out during which the craftsmen were allowed to live longer, the rest, including members of his family, were taken in groups to be shot. Kelmanovich relates how he managed to escape the shooting.
