You are correct, Billy. His father left AJ and his mom when he was little. He never kept in touch with AJ. But his dad followed his career and since AJ became famous his dad wanted to reconnect. There is a lot of hurt and pain when a parent goes MIA and wans to come back around (for suspicious reasons). AJ's album "Have It All" is an excellent record. You should give it a listen, in its entirety, it's awesome!

So this will be my third comment because I didn't watch the end of the video after explaining how we know he's talking about his father so how does this song relate to me you act. My father went to prison for killing a man, so he missed a lot of me and my sister's life. I believe you went two more times and at this time my mother had already gone to divorce while he was in prison and she had a boyfriend when he got out. They got back together years later, we stay together as a family, he found somebody that put more of them all he was looking for so he moved out and lived with her. That was an on and off again relationship, apparently he asked my mother to me to Florida with him "which seems to be a lot of details missing from my point of view" but she declined. I got a Florida after graduating high school, living with my aunt. He comes to visit me one time didn't see him again after that. He want me to come stay or visit with him and his home but I wasn't there for him I was there with my aunt
I’m choking up. My dad left when I was 2. Moved away without telling me and my mom. I had to find him on Facebook when I was 18. He raised another woman’s children for 19 years and I was left in the dust.
