I am Rohit. I have completed my Master's in Economics from the Indian Statistical Institute, Delhi. Currently, I am working as a Data Scientist. I completed my undergraduate degree in Economics from Delhi University. I was part of the COVID batch, so I did not experience much of the traditional college life during that period.
One thing I would like to convey to students is that Economics is a promising career. Students from Delhi University often secure good placement packages right after their undergraduate studies. After completing a Master's in Economics from the Indian Statistical Institute, the average placement package is around 18 LPA.
Economics graduates have a wide range of job opportunities, including roles such as Data Scientist, Model Risk Manager in big banks, Product Manager, Consultant, Quantitative Modeler, Quantitative Analyst, Data Analyst, positions in the Indian Economic Service, well-paying jobs at the Reserve Bank of India, and roles in think tanks, among many others.
