It doesn't matter what version I use of these builds i keep losing essence very fast with or without great feast aspect and I have everything with the correct stats so what's the deal?
Great video. Just have a question, I noticed that with the Budget Version, there are no ranks on Blight. So, we don't need Blight on the budget version? Also, do I replace Dark Dance aspect on ring with Starlight aspect to mitigate essence depletion? Thanks in advance!
What I love about blood surge is the fact that there's no 1 specific build. They're all similar, of course, but the fact that it's not locked into 1 specific build is nice.
Skulm - thank you for finally posting this version. It is so much fun. If you drop the 11 points on the Blood Begets Blood board and replace it with more crit from the Flesh Eater board you might like it. I run this variant of the paragon board with the MAX DPS Giga build.
Very nice!Tried this out and is very fun.I made one change however to the paragon board by dropping cult leader and scourge altogether and replaced it with wither to get more life and 20% more damage to shadow over time affected enemies
Thanks to you and Chris as I flip between parts of both of your builds of this over the last few weeks. I’m pretty much settling on the lazy version but not taking bone storm because I got crit chance GA rolls tripled in my starless and current focus and don’t want to roll them off. I maxed drain vitality and transfusion instead and took the blood mist cooldown. Will see how it goes!
I switched to another Blood Surge build, but it wasn't working out that good. Just now tried the budget version here, I don't have Mortacrux, but Cruors Embrace... and the difference is night and day. Awesome! Many thanks for this!

Good stuff. I am gonna share this in the D4 forums. My Blood Surge Necro can do T8 too, and it's based on Lucion's Crown and Banished amulet (which is based from another content creator. I forgot his name, but I had it in my bookmarks). Too bad a lot of players are dismissing Blood Surge because it's not the same as LS Sorc. I am glad they aren't the same otherwise game is gonna get boring fast.
I didn't follow your build or anyone else paragon-wise (everyone have similar gearing/skill tree anyways), tried out using great feast and now I'm doing upwards of 320m dmg for my lazy crit grandpapa version lmao thanks for the tips. Great vid!
While I’m leveling and getting gear, I’ve been running this with Temerity with this build. Always have barrier, always fortified. Takes a bit to kill bosses, but I haven’t died in DAYS! Just got Curor’s and going to keep on grinding!!!
Great stuff. Just levelled with minions and managed to get the two uniques to drop. I saved all my paragons in preparation to switch to this build. I worked out the board myself but it’s very similar to yours except I have gravekeeper in starter. Not sure if I will benefit from corpses though. I don’t have morticrux so could try sacrificial on weapon. I have the talisman so I could pair that with lucions when it drops to see how that combo compares.
Using doombringer, banished lord, starless sky, without starlight aspect (fix essence with 2 ga on essence per second). Most of the time it's overpower crit on 200-2500kk damage. Sometimes I saw 370-420kk damage in tier 8.
On your planners for lazy and budget build, you put a shield for the offhand but it cannot take an offensive aspect. At 12:45 , you show a focus on the offhand. 😁
Crown is still bugged as far as I know, at least it wasn’t working with my Bash Barb. Banished Lord’s Talisman is better suited to Bone Spirit builds, I use it on my Bone Spirit necro and it helps decimate tormented bosses with multi-billion overpower crits
I love overpower. AoE overpower is just *chef's kiss*. This build is what I like. I've started going to the Goblin Inc. version at first (which is a great build), but then this budget version of yours is just a perfect stepping stone into the more powerful versions that I HAD to go for this one. My final build will probably be somewhere in between yours and Goblin's (and probably worse lol), but I'm sure having a ton of fun already! Thanks a lot! Now, some questions: do you think foregoing the unique overpower pendant and the sacrificial aspect is worth it? Can't we try to squeeze them both in there somehow? And do you use blight on the budget version? It's showing on the planner as a equipped skill, but it's not in the skill tree... One last thing: in the video, when you show the gear you're using the for lazy version, you're actually using the Rathma's Chosen aspect on your ring... shouldn't it be the Starlight Aspect? That's actually the one you mentioned hehe Oh, and why no Embalmer aspect? Thank you!
Hi, I‘m still on the Budget Version and it runs pretty smoothly. The only thing that doesn‘t work is the Essence Management without the Banished Lord‘s Talisman. I‘d love to use Great Feast on the amulet, but I always dry out. Even with 7 Essence per second on the boots and 9 Ranks of Hewed Flesh. Have I missed anything? Thanks 4 the great builds and your most entertaining ways.

Did a little combining of your builds. But luckily today I got everything except grandfather or doom bringer. It's been a grind or torment bosses. I'm noticing poison bro ain't dropping mythic. I have much better luck with ice guy

Thank you for the kind words. Crown of Lucion is not my idea and I tried it before. It has its place but I don't want to comment further about another content creator's idea. Banished vs Great Feast for me is a clear choice. I take Great Feast 24/7 over banished especially if we play Starless. I might try out banished and great feast on somewhere else, but I did not see a satisfying or surpirising result that may replace one of my meta versions right now.

@Skulm I think I found an error in your Andy's version I'm running it's not at armor cap. I replaced the essence per second on boots with a armor roll to get there. I'm finding the essence per second isn't really needed once I start fighting I just cast hemorrhage a few times to kick start everything or if I happen to run out
I'm running your budget version due to bad luck with mythics. There are dry spells where (a) I run out of essence or (b) I have plenty of essence but am not doing a lot of damage to the boss at all. The Butcher in NM98-100 clears my clock -- I can only get it down to 90% or so before I am out of essence and healing potions. Now my build does differ from yours slightly. I have luck hit to freeze and immobilize on my helm and pants instead of barrier gen tempers. I have lucky hit to freeze on boots instead of increased curse duration. I haven't found the recommended amulet so am running banished lord's talisman. I don't have attack speed on my rings. And I switched from Dark Dance to Starlight aspect to see if that would help my essence issues. Current attack speed bonus is 10.4%. I'll try to get my attack speed up. Is the lack of tides of blood/coalesced blood and ~20% more attack speed actually that important? ---------------------------- I spent a few hours running tormented bosses and using the loot to rebuild my char precisely to the specified requirements. It does play better. The increased attack speed and barrier generation does make it stronger. So my apologies. Haven't met the Butcher yet -- we'll see.
Just wanted to update. I have been running the lazy version and have it almost MIN/Maxed and its been alot of fun. Wish I could get the drop on a better Cruors but I am thankful I got a decent drop early in the season.
How are you getting Blight on your skill bar without the Banished Lord's Talisman? It's not in the skill tree and there's no + to core skills on any of the gear. Was it left over? I'm actually running the BLT now as an experiment to see how it compares to the recommended amulet and Deathspeaker's Pendant. As it turns out, generally I don't have the essence necessary to cast Blight anyway. Both BLT and Deathspeaker's seem to work as a substitute for the recommended amulet.
thank you alot with blight fix for bosses ! Just perfect ! I have a good tip you can use umbral aspect on ring instead of minion aspect on ring then you have essence without essence per second on gear etc because you crowd control with curse, blight and mist. It's just an easy tip for everybody =) Thanks for boss fix and all builds for blood surge...love from Sweden

Hey Skulm. Can I suggest utilizing Butchers Cleaver with the Blood Surge build. Using it with 100% Crit chance has almost everything feared nonstop and bosses quickly CC’ed. I don’t have The Grandfather or other mythic uniques besides the ring of starless skies. Would be curious to see what you could do with it. I use great feast, cursed aura, cruors embrace, crown of Lucion, butchers cleaver, starless skies, blood moon breaches, embalmer, and banished lords talisman.
Interesting suggestion did not test it. Bosses are super hard to stagger after 3-4 staggers therefore I feel like it will lose value in longer fights. Mortacrux in budget version just keeps performing even in longer fights due to hewed flesh passive constantly creating corpses.
@@Skulm I haven’t been able to test it at high levels but that makes sense. I didn’t consider the bosses becoming immune to cc over repeated use, I forgot about that.
Nice vid, I've been experimenting with similar builds since I've also thought embalmer with blood begets blood node was not worth the payoff. Ive been thinking we're not getting enough Int and swapped all my armor rubies with topaz and it increased my kill speed a lot with still no deaths. It made me wonder if an int roll wherever we can get it would be worth it but haven't got to testing yet
There's an issue on the flesh-eater board for the max damage build. You have the +7 dex selected and the glyph trail isn't connected. Assuming the +7 needs to be removed and fill in the slot that connects the board.

Been asked that million times but it's all good my amulet suggestion is 10 times better than BLT because BLT 60x only applies when you crit during overpowers whereas great feast 68x is permanently up as long as you have essence.

I’m running the lazy version but I don’t have tyraels might so I’m running the budget version chest. I’m not getting the bone splinters to shoot out when I’m using blood surge. Any ideas why?
on your lazy version in the planner it says to use blood surge nova size and blood attack speed on shield, but all i can use on shield is defensive and utlity tempers.
Banished on giga max dps does not work well you need lucion to improve resource cost so banished procs back to back. My build delivers super fast kill without those.
For the lazy version : wouldn't it be beneficial to get chance to freeze on boots instead of curse, chance to stun on amulet instead of ressource generation, and giving up the 10% from scourge to get control ? Seems you would get better damage on trashes, 10% less on boss but bigger burst on stagger ? edit : lack of knowledge. Control rune doesn't works like the sorc control aspect, so 20% on stagger vs 10% always is a bad trade. I though it would be 20%xeach type of control on stagger.
Have u tried deathspeakers with crown of lucion in the budget build? Still sacrificing minions to get bonuses but get novas on mortacrux skeles. Dont need starlight bc deathspeakers generates a lot of essence. Not the highest dps but kinda cool
Hey thanks for chiming in, we don't use starlight in the budget build because mortacrux creates corpses and we consume all with cruor gloves this triggers Grim Harvest we always stay near max essence. Deathspeaker is big dps loss I recommend great feast on neck.
@@NINTHW0ND3R I think %Intelligence is underrated. Every 8 intelligence point is 1% dmg increase so a budget amulet would be %intelligence max life and tides/coalesced passive. Worst case banished lord. Hope this helps!
Skulm, how do you farm for final gear? I just started few days ago and just finished campaign, but I don't have any of the pieces such as starlight, doombringer, etc., and I'm not sure how to farm for those items. I'm only lvl 60 atm.
@@duskshadow25 you can farm hordes 24/7 and trade some excess stygian stones for some torment boss mats. Open the 60 aether chest for GA items. This way you’re always farmig ga items and mats.
I'm running the Lazy version pretty much exactly except for doombringer cause I don't have it. It's awesome, but I'm pretty squishy even at tier 7. I'm running extra defense in my paragon like territorial and undaunted. Anything else I can be doing to improve my survivability until I eventually get doombringer?

How your get so high speed? I follow exactly the same build that you. And I'm not having the same result. I never die. But I take 20 minutes to kill bosses in the lvl 8.
most of the guides recommend Curse Size as temper on some gear. But it doesnt seem to effect the size of the curse aura. only from "hand-casting" it. whats the reason for thoose temperings?

Hello. You have mistake in builder for Poison Nova in planner your put resistance gems, but in video you have skulls at jewerly slots. And even with skulls i not understand how you get 9366 armor? (I have 6905). I like Posion Nova but i die a lot and i think my problem in Armor.

I have a question, as I’m super newby at Necro Why do most builds call for Decrepify over Iron Maiden? As I’m looking at these it seems in my 1 brain cell mind that Iron Maiden is better 🤷♂️
@@Polish_Sausage__ decrepify reduces the monster’s damage output. This is even more valuable than overall damage reduction. Also decrepify has 2 very good upgrades. Abhorrent Decrepify makes every lucky hit even tick of damage reduce your cooldowns whereas Horrid Decrepify instantly kills elites and mobs if they are below 10% hp. Iron maiden is great for leveling and early game because with its upgrade it makes you gain essence and monsters just kill themselves with Iron Maiden reflect damage in the early game. However it starts to fall short during endgame, and this is where Decrepify starts to shine. Hope this helps.

One last thing: in the video, when you show the gear you're using the for lazy version, you're actually using the Rathma's Chosen aspect on your ring... shouldn't it be the Starlight Aspect? That's actually the one you mentioned hehe

Hi, I‘m still on the Budget Version and it runs pretty smoothly. The only thing that doesn‘t work is the Essence Management without the Banished Lord‘s Talisman. I‘d love to use Great Feast on the amulet, but I always dry out. Even with 7 Essence per second on the boots and 9 Ranks of Hewed Flesh. Have I missed anything? Thanks 4 the great builds and your most entertaining ways.

Thank you for the kind words. Crown of Lucion is not my idea and I tried it before. It has its place but I don't want to comment further about another content creator's idea. Banished vs Great Feast for me is a clear choice. I take Great Feast 24/7 over banished especially if we play Starless. I might try out banished and great feast on somewhere else, but I did not see a satisfying or surpirising result that may replace one of my meta versions right now.

@Skulm I think I found an error in your Andy's version I'm running it's not at armor cap. I replaced the essence per second on boots with a armor roll to get there. I'm finding the essence per second isn't really needed once I start fighting I just cast hemorrhage a few times to kick start everything or if I happen to run out

I'm running your budget version due to bad luck with mythics. There are dry spells where (a) I run out of essence or (b) I have plenty of essence but am not doing a lot of damage to the boss at all.
The Butcher in NM98-100 clears my clock -- I can only get it down to 90% or so before I am out of essence and healing potions.
Now my build does differ from yours slightly. I have luck hit to freeze and immobilize on my helm and pants instead of barrier gen tempers. I have lucky hit to freeze on boots instead of increased curse duration. I haven't found the recommended amulet so am running banished lord's talisman. I don't have attack speed on my rings. And I switched from Dark Dance to Starlight aspect to see if that would help my essence issues.
Current attack speed bonus is 10.4%.
I'll try to get my attack speed up. Is the lack of tides of blood/coalesced blood and ~20% more attack speed actually that important?

I spent a few hours running tormented bosses and using the loot to rebuild my char precisely to the specified requirements. It does play better. The increased attack speed and barrier generation does make it stronger. So my apologies.
Haven't met the Butcher yet -- we'll see.

Just wanted to update. I have been running the lazy version and have it almost MIN/Maxed and its been alot of fun. Wish I could get the drop on a better Cruors but I am thankful I got a decent drop early in the season.

How are you getting Blight on your skill bar without the Banished Lord's Talisman? It's not in the skill tree and there's no + to core skills on any of the gear. Was it left over?
I'm actually running the BLT now as an experiment to see how it compares to the recommended amulet and Deathspeaker's Pendant.
As it turns out, generally I don't have the essence necessary to cast Blight anyway. Both BLT and Deathspeaker's seem to work as a substitute for the recommended amulet.
For the lazy version what attk speed do you need to use sacrificial instead of rathma chosen?

thank you alot with blight fix for bosses ! Just perfect ! I have a good tip you can use umbral aspect on ring instead of minion aspect on ring then you have essence without essence per second on gear etc because you crowd control with curse, blight and mist. It's just an easy tip for everybody =)

Hey Skulm. Can I suggest utilizing Butchers Cleaver with the Blood Surge build. Using it with 100% Crit chance has almost everything feared nonstop and bosses quickly CC’ed. I don’t have The Grandfather or other mythic uniques besides the ring of starless skies. Would be curious to see what you could do with it. I use great feast, cursed aura, cruors embrace, crown of Lucion, butchers cleaver, starless skies, blood moon breaches, embalmer, and banished lords talisman.
Interesting suggestion did not test it. Bosses are super hard to stagger after 3-4 staggers therefore I feel like it will lose value in longer fights. Mortacrux in budget version just keeps performing even in longer fights due to hewed flesh passive constantly creating corpses.
@@Skulm I haven’t been able to test it at high levels but that makes sense. I didn’t consider the bosses becoming immune to cc over repeated use, I forgot about that.

Nice vid, I've been experimenting with similar builds since I've also thought embalmer with blood begets blood node was not worth the payoff. Ive been thinking we're not getting enough Int and swapped all my armor rubies with topaz and it increased my kill speed a lot with still no deaths. It made me wonder if an int roll wherever we can get it would be worth it but haven't got to testing yet
remember that your overpower damage is based on your combined life and fortitude aomunt.

There's an issue on the flesh-eater board for the max damage build. You have the +7 dex selected and the glyph trail isn't connected. Assuming the +7 needs to be removed and fill in the slot that connects the board.

Been asked that million times but it's all good my amulet suggestion is 10 times better than BLT because BLT 60x only applies when you crit during overpowers whereas great feast 68x is permanently up as long as you have essence.

I’m running the lazy version but I don’t have tyraels might so I’m running the budget version chest. I’m not getting the bone splinters to shoot out when I’m using blood surge. Any ideas why?
on your lazy version in the planner it says to use blood surge nova size and blood attack speed on shield, but all i can use on shield is defensive and utlity tempers.

Banished on giga max dps does not work well you need lucion to improve resource cost so banished procs back to back. My build delivers super fast kill without those.
just a small correction - 100% is not 100x - 100% is 2x and so on for other times you used % :)

For the lazy version : wouldn't it be beneficial to get chance to freeze on boots instead of curse, chance to stun on amulet instead of ressource generation, and giving up the 10% from scourge to get control ? Seems you would get better damage on trashes, 10% less on boss but bigger burst on stagger ?
edit : lack of knowledge. Control rune doesn't works like the sorc control aspect, so 20% on stagger vs 10% always is a bad trade. I though it would be 20%xeach type of control on stagger.
Have u tried deathspeakers with crown of lucion in the budget build? Still sacrificing minions to get bonuses but get novas on mortacrux skeles. Dont need starlight bc deathspeakers generates a lot of essence. Not the highest dps but kinda cool
Hey thanks for chiming in, we don't use starlight in the budget build because mortacrux creates corpses and we consume all with cruor gloves this triggers Grim Harvest we always stay near max essence. Deathspeaker is big dps loss I recommend great feast on neck.
Agree on dps just meant deathspeakers is cheap compared to a tides of blood/coalesced blood amulet… more budget friendly. Anyway thx for the video
@@NINTHW0ND3R I think %Intelligence is underrated. Every 8 intelligence point is 1% dmg increase so a budget amulet would be %intelligence max life and tides/coalesced passive. Worst case banished lord. Hope this helps!

Skulm, how do you farm for final gear? I just started few days ago and just finished campaign, but I don't have any of the pieces such as starlight, doombringer, etc., and I'm not sure how to farm for those items. I'm only lvl 60 atm.
@@duskshadow25 you can farm hordes 24/7 and trade some excess stygian stones for some torment boss mats. Open the 60 aether chest for GA items. This way you’re always farmig ga items and mats.
I'm running the Lazy version pretty much exactly except for doombringer cause I don't have it. It's awesome, but I'm pretty squishy even at tier 7. I'm running extra defense in my paragon like territorial and undaunted. Anything else I can be doing to improve my survivability until I eventually get doombringer?

most of the guides recommend Curse Size as temper on some gear. But it doesnt seem to effect the size of the curse aura. only from "hand-casting" it. whats the reason for thoose temperings?

Hello. You have mistake in builder for Poison Nova in planner your put resistance gems, but in video you have skulls at jewerly slots. And even with skulls i not understand how you get 9366 armor? (I have 6905). I like Posion Nova but i die a lot and i think my problem in Armor.

As I’m looking at these it seems in my 1 brain cell mind that Iron Maiden is better 🤷♂️
@@Polish_Sausage__ decrepify reduces the monster’s damage output. This is even more valuable than overall damage reduction. Also decrepify has 2 very good upgrades. Abhorrent Decrepify makes every lucky hit even tick of damage reduce your cooldowns whereas Horrid Decrepify instantly kills elites and mobs if they are below 10% hp.
Iron maiden is great for leveling and early game because with its upgrade it makes you gain essence and monsters just kill themselves with Iron Maiden reflect damage in the early game. However it starts to fall short during endgame, and this is where Decrepify starts to shine. Hope this helps.
