In the living area of my house in particular there was quite a bit of natural light. Other rooms there was only 1 window but because they were relatively small it was enough light. Kitchen area is a bit gloomy but the dining area had a bigger window so not too bad.
To my understanding it depends on what housing you choose. Some you do get to keep the difference some you do not. Housing will inform you of what houses allow that.
