- Inuyasha is an iconic anime with plenty of famous characters. But what about the short-lived characters? Specifically, the villains. We covered the the anime-only filler villains in the past, but what about the villains that were also short-lived in the manga, along with the anime? In this video, we’ll be looking at our favorite one-off villains from Inuyasha. The only rules are they have to be canon to the manga and they have to only last a few chapters/episodes. Judgment Meter joins me for this one.

Yura's true form is a comb hidden in a red skull, which makes her being based on a Tsukonogami, an object that comes to life after 100 years have passed thus becoming a yokai. While her ability to manipulate hair is based on Harionago a.k.a Harionna, a yokai with the appearance of a woman with long hair tipped with barbs, she can manipulate her hair to snare men.
*If* only Yura's body wasn't a fake made of hair or evil, she would've been the perfect wife material. Too bad she died early. She had a really good design and her dub voice was so good as well.

@@sissysovereign1294 How about as a reformed person who journeyed with the crew, and used her hair magic to their benefit? Like gathering intel, making fake hair dummies to confuse enemies, use a fake hair dummy of herself to seduce and fool opponents, or even shield them even.
Tsubaki's "If you ever fall in love with someone, you will die a horrible death." Curse did work. Kikiyo fell in love with Inuyasha, and she was downright slaughtered by Naraku in a way to make her whole heartedly believe Inuyasha had betrayed her.
It didn’t noticed before that it was Tsubaki’s curse that was the catalyst that started the entire main plot!
The joke was on Tsubaki though, since Kikyo still got her wish in the end despite suffering a painful fate. She may not have gotten to live a civilian life and bag Inuyasha as a husband back in her time, but she still got to live the life she wanted after being reborn as Kagome.
The Thunder Brothers, Yura of the Hair, Mistress Centipede, Tokajin, and the Ancient Noh Mask are my own top 5, so glad to see they made it on your list. Inuyasha has a lot of memorable characters, which is good, because otherwise the long length of the series could be a problem.
Good list, honorable mentions: Painter create monster (Miroku's introduction episodes), Two headed harpy leader (Koga's episodes), Bat Demon (the episodes Inuyasha learns barrier cutting), Giant Oni head (episodes of old exorcist teams up with Inuyasha and team), Mujina (that demon disuised as himself a girl and framed Shippo), Toshu (Dragon scaled Tessaiga episodes), Shishinki (original user of Meidou Zangetsuha).
my honorable mention is Goshinki, Naraku's 3rd incarnation. He could read minds and his fangs were strong enough to break the Tetsaiga, leading to the first appearance of Inuyasha's Full-demon berserker form. Sesshomaru even used his fangs to make his own sword that he used for most of the series
@@redlord8438 Yes, he was truely impactful villian but I associate him with Naraku like Kagura and Kanna and later iterations like Hakudoshi and Moryomaru. Especially Hakudoshi was a cunning brat, I put one of the most despicable villians in the series.
It was a shame both Hot Stuff and Yura got killed. They had such striking designs. But Hot Stuff really got done dirty of the two because she was made to look so insignificant even in her arc. She also had a humiliating death given Naraku simply stripped away the power he loaned her and that she relied on when he betrayed her in the end.
Yura i didnt know had such a big fanbase unless being on twitter. from girls alot of the time.
Hot Stuff? ...Oh, Princess Abi! Yeah, both Abi and Yura are the most attractive demons on this list. Too bad Yura's body wasn't her actual being, she and Abi would've made fore great wife material *if* they weren't evil.

actually in the original japanese, Yura says she’s an Oni, and she performed Tamautsushi(魂移し) which transferred her soul to the comb so she couldn’t be killed. the comb wasn’t really her true form or anything.
Really?! Wonder why they changed it around in the localization, especially since she's one of the sexiest demons we see.

It's funny to think that there were more villains-of-the-week after Naraku and his goon squad overtook the bad guy quotient. But they ARE there.
If Judgement Meter was trapped in the feudal era, she would just turn it into a massive dating sim. A lot of villains would be confused, because she would be trying to get them presents to up the relationship level

@@JudgmentMeter I don't have script, but do have an idea. A dating sim for a guy with the (villainous) women, Kagura, Yura, Princess Abi, Mistress Centipede without the jewel or revealing her huge fangs (?), and Tsubaki *minus* her hag or ogre form, both dark and silver hair version.

Glad to hear it! We always try to find a midway point in discussing these character for both longtime fans and people new to the series so we make the characters sound interesting without assuming everyone knows what we're talking about, but still giving something new for people who know the characters already.

Funny that mistress centipede seems to be the demon that just doesn't know when to die because she came back or at least a form of her came back in yashahime
If we ever cover Yashahime villains, we'd probably put her on that list just for the sake of her being a callback
The one we see in Yashahime is the granddaughter of Mistress Centipede from the original actually.
I apologize for a previous Inuyasha post. I thnik I will always love this series. :) It's one of the few I still rewatch from time to time and inspite of some issues I think it's fun for what it is.
I've been completely obsessed with Yura ever since I first watched this show back when it premiered. Too bad it was only two episodes. Super sexy and super dangerous. 😱🥴

Inuyasha is one of the best old anime's and it has some memorable villains. Also shadow hearts covenant has noh mask as an enemy.
Tsubaki wass a beeotch that you love to hate. was sad to see her go, but she was a strong nemesis.
I could have sworn she was in the series longer than I thought when we went back to watch it, but it was only 4 or 5 episodes, showing how much she made an impact in such a short period of time!

When I was a kid, I was so freaked out by the Mask of No. Especially how it was shown in the manga with actual bodies of those it took over, instead of that mud like substance in the anime.
Also : the Thunder bros, they were interesting. I remember how in the anime, Manten wished for the 2 of them to be reincarnated and hopefully being reborn as brothers... I genuinely wished that would have happened. Like, reincarnated into good guys in the future! But yeah for the most part, they kinda had it coming!
Ya know. I feel Abi could've been a great character, if given the chance. But, that's probably just me.
Kagome: I really don't want to know what she could do with that long-ass tongue.

That actually became an inside joke on the channel. Viewers, besides her and me, noticed she sounded like Kagome, so we started using Kagome icons during the videos whenever she spoke as part of that joke and the gag stuck (and eventually had other anime character icons she sounded like), so I'm glad others new to her are noticing without knowing her history of being a Kagome imposter!

Yura just came in at the wrong time. They were going through one-off villains left and right. If she come in mid series, she probably would have gotten the Tsubaki treatment where she's around for an extra episode or 2. It's hard to say since it you're not directly related to the main heroes or villains, you don't get to be around that long. Even Tsubaki only got 5 episodes, 2 of which were no even based on the manga.

I think fillers should only be slice of life episodes. Let us see how they be acting when they aren't hunting demons and stuff a little more in depth.
naroku...... that villian that you just look at and ask politely...."CAN YOU FUCKING DIE!!!" and he responds with "No cause i have more plot power than the heroes" man i hated any episode that he was a part of just cause he was OPed in a 10 year old how many powers can we give him sort of way.
Just noticed something during the Tsubaki segment. Tsubaki's eye and make-up color switches when she gets cursed. No really, look back at where they are debating if she looked better with black or grey hair. When she had black hair, she had purple eyes and green eye shadow. When she has grey hair, her eyes are green and her eye shadow is purple! That is kinda weird but also cool in a way.
Didn't notice all that, but she's a really cool character, so it makes sense that she had all that detail put into her!

Yura, ryukotsei, and abi deserved to be long time villians throughout the series. All were extremely interesting and had so much going for them. Despise how abi went out.

Manga Tokejin was different. He was not influenced by the tree. He devoured villagers and was using magic to cultivate the peaches that would create the elixir of immortality. This arc was heavily censored because of the cannibalism. Originally was set before they met Sango, and that's why sango was needed to have a filler to explain her absence when they figured out how to adapt the manga arc and censor it.
8:30 in the manga version, the fruit on the tree were human heads. It literally gave me nightmares as a kid.

"Not many battle axes in Inuyasha " yet main character ends up with Kagome.
I remember Yura because hers was the last episodes of Inuyasha that I watched, the show aired on my country during the evening but after this episode aired they moved it to 11 pm because it was "not for little children" I went to sleep relatively early at the time so I couldn't really watch it and then it quietly disappeared, probably because no one was watching it anymore, and I never really went back to watch the rest of the show even tho I liked it well enough
To this day I still think some mom saw her kid watching this episode, thought Yura's outfit was too much and called the network to have it canceled.

Never saw her in the anime proper, but saw her in the manga. That said, Princess Abi is among the most attractive demons, *if* she wasn't evil, she would've made for a great wife material.

Yura, now there's hot babe of a demon, not just in looks, but her (dub) voice is among the best. She's the best demon girl of the series, even if she was a one off villain. Too bad her body was just an disguise/illusion, just imagine if the body we saw was her actual body.

I think the Firewheels are based on a really powerful Chinese folklore creature that even went toe to toe with the Monkeyking and was considered one of the strongest beings ever....untill his defeat by sayed Monkey King but....I can't even remember the name so I have no idea if my recolection of things is true

As for the rest i remember somewhat liking the thunder brothers and i loved Yura when she first appeared in the anime and the manga. I don't remember much of the rest sadly.
Yura of the demon hair powers resemble another anime villain in one piece doflamingo with his string power being able to control people
Goshinki? He was the reason inuyasha became a full demon and introduced that whole plot to series, plus he was the most evil thing on the show
The monster i remember the most was the crow demon from around the first episode that stole the complete gem.
Bruh the demon fish lady with the village full of women was one of the coolest episodes in my opinion
One of the biggest problems with the show was the censorship, the run ons, and the fact Naruto was the focus villain EVERYTIME, when some of these villains should’ve played bigger roles.
