That offcamber slab at 5:30 is nightmare fuel. Only part of the trail I hike a biked. The rest of it is mega gnar too, took a nice digger on one of the crux moves. Epic trail!
Well, I guess I’ll have to check this one out. Taking the gopro affect, I still think Thunder Mnt has a few trails as hard if not harder. The only times I went to Burke was during NembaFest. Maybe next year’s KT tour, I’ll check this trail out for myself.
Holy crap that's a serious trail. Great riding. Wonder how it would have looked if you did a split screen video with Ryan's view on the left half of the screen and Jimmy's on the right or Ryan on the top half and Jimmy on the bottom half, to get a wider view. Still a great video.
Thanks man! Appreciate the feedback. It is a very serious trail. -20% grade in some spots. I went back and forth on the side by side vs switching back and forth. Neither worked perfectly, but it was still a fun experiment.
So i guess GoPro effect is in full swing? I wanted to go ride that trail when i was up in that area last year, but the company i was with only wanted flow trails 🤮. Definitely seems chunky, but also seems like it actually rolls out very well and not that bad. Anything you would compare it too at places like Platty or Creek?
Worst GoPro effect I’ve ever seen! It’s -20% grade in some spots and is literally one of the hardest and rawest trials in New England. I was puckered for half of the trail. Haha. Might compare it to “Schist” at thunder?
@@MTBTravelReview haha cool, I'll look forward to one day getting back up into that area and having a go at it. I rode Thunder back in 2016 and did ride that trail, vaguely remember it, i definitely believe you are a stronger than I so will take your description and experience as truth on difficulty lol
@@Guineson it’s worth a visit and manageable. We rode blind at decent speed. Haha. Just take it easy and you’ll have a blast. It’s more of an experience than a trail. So cool
The answer is no. Upper J-bar isn't even the hardest trail at burke. Freeride trail is. I am not saying that Upper-Jbar isn't hard (it is), all I am saying is that is not the hardest.
Upper J-Bar is awesome. Definitely in my top 5 for favorite trails!
Agreed! It’s one of a kind.

Haha lots of sketchy sections in there for sure! Def as epic as it gets in the Northeast! 🤘🏼🔥
Upper jbar is super gnarly! Some of those rocky turns and off cambers are just unfair. I can’t even imagine putting on a race pace
Amen to that man! -20% grade for most if it. Video does 0 justice.
I used to ski this trail when I was younger. Good memories!
One of my favorite trails without a doubt, gives you that backcountry vibe too
So raw and wild man! It’s an experience from top to bottom
That's crazy dry. I don't think I've been on upper J Bar when it's been that dry.
Yea, it was bone dry in the middle of a dry spell. Hopefully next time it’ll be more deadly. 😁
Hell yeah, looking rowdy!!
Only way to ride! 🤘🏼
Good stuffs bro! Sick trails! 🤙🔝
Thanks man!

Agreed, the back of shack, wine tree, and cliff claven all seem more difficult although appear shorter.
Went up there a couple weeks ago, not sure if it changed much but it was awesome!
Right! It’s a rad trail for sure.
Is that also part of Rude Awakening? We rode that in October and it was moist and slick. So much fun!!!!
Rude awakening starts in the same area, but different trail. Both amazing
dang, I can't wait till the boarders open back up!
Hopefully by the spring! 🤞🏼
So sick. Did you ride Rude Awakening??
Cheers man. I actually haven’t ridden that, yet, but it’s on the list!

@@MTBTravelReview Glad you tried the side by side comparison. Huge respect...-20% is steeeeeeeep !

A little sketchy 4:07! Yea, just a little!
Haha def some puckering going on! GoPro effect is very real.
