I've spent my entire conscience life as a Florida State Seminole fan. Growing up just west of Tallahassee I spent a many cold days hunting or working around the farm listening to Gene Deckerhoff play-by-play on the radio. I'm 53 years young now, and I can honestly say I've been a fan for at least 50 of those years. In those 50 years or so, I've watched miracles happen, fumblerooskies, triple reverses, high flying catches, fast break offense, suffocating defenses, high-stepping, wide-rights, wide-lefts and Houdini-like plays by special players. But never, have I witnessed anything like this. It's simply, inexcusable, so disrespectful to the traditions of what college football has meant to me for all these years. Never would I have thought we would be disrespected like this, overlooked like this, pushed aside like this and then mocked because we dare be upset at this insanity. Many of the greatest moments in college football history can be attributed to instances of my Seminoles doing the impossible. To take their ability away to prove themselves on the field in search for a 4th National Title, is unacceptable. I'm guessing, many of these talking heads at EsecPN figured that my Seminoles would likely lose the ACC Championship game once they found out we were going with a true freshman, but they never took in account that this team is "Built For This", as coach Norvell would say. That defensive performance in Charlotte was no fluke, it was the most dominating defensive game I've seen this year from anyone. Discredit Louisville all you want, but they entered the game with a 6-year senior at the helm, averaging over 400 plus yards a game, averaging 33 points a game and the Seminoles held them to 188 total yards and 6 points. History of football will teach you that DEFENSE wins Championships, Saban himself has built his legacy on dominating defenses. So did Bobby Bowden so telling anyone with half a football brain that you can't win a national title with a backup QB or a QB that is not the focus of an offense, look at Alabama's line of QB's when Saban was first winning titles. Not all of them were the best player on his teams, they simply distributed the ball to the plethora of playmakers. What the Seminoles have this year at the moment is nothing more and nothing less than what has been used to win titles before. Love this tribute Mr. Harris, what a fine way to show how this team overcame, persevered and cemented themselves in college football history both as an undefeated champion and the team was sadly not allowed to prove themselves for a possible 4th National Title. One thing I've always loved has become tainted and a true disappointment for what amateur sports should be about. The whole mess has gotten too big for it's own britches is what my grandfather would have proclaimed. I would agree.
There's the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, and now there is this. It is really painful and unfair. Don't let the committee's decision take away from the absolute blast that this season was. Thank you for the kind words.
Goodbye College Football, I will never forget the memories of the classic games I have watched, not only from MY Seminoles but from the rest of the league. This year was special and bittersweet at the same time. After suffering through years of mediocre football games, my beloved Seminoles have finally put together a team that could compete at the highest level once again. Lots of players had returned to make a run at a National Title and to say the very least I was SUPERHYPED for this season. From the beginning they showed they belonged by beating LSU soundly and from there they answered every bell that rang. Making plays when plays needed to be made. Was it always pretty? Not always, but it rarely ever is. College football is great because you never know how teams will respond. Just Keep Winning! Unbeaten, Undefeated & Unconquered always gets the shot. Sadly, that's no longer true. It's all about the Benjamine's now. Who turns on the TV's, who pays the bills and who creates the best story line. It no longer matters what happens on the field. 13 people in a room decide who plays not the teams on the field. Yesterday I watched the orange bowl, with the sound off because I couldn't stand listening to the commentators sound off on how great the Bulldogs looked against FSU's JV team. I wanted to see what the players were gonna look like who were coming up in the program. Then it dawned on me, maybe none of these players will finish their careers as Seminoles. Recruiting doesn't matter. We lost Marvin Jones Jr to Georgia a couple years ago. Now he is a Seminole. DJU was a Clemson Tiger that I rooted against that same amount of time ago and now he might be a Seminole after being a Beaver? WTF? I loved and rooted for these kids because they wanted to be on my team, and I would root for them once they got to the pros no matter where they went. But they don't care about the team or the school either. So, the players don't matter. Basically, the sport I grew to love, is unrecognizable from what I knew as a younger man. The day my wife's water broke for my 1st child was during the FSU/florida game in 04', When she told me, my response was. "But the games not over yet" She recalls that by the time I brought the car around the game was already on the radio. Ohh the memories, how I will cherish them. This team, how I will cherish these memories of this season. The comebacks the breaking of bad streaks and the class the team and the coaches carried themselves with. Bobby would be proud. That being said, none of it matters anymore. The games, the recruiting and the players don't matter anymore. Ohh, I'll watch the big games when they come on and I will want to see Norvell do great things at FSU, but I will be a casual observer. I'll be able to name the top players on the team but gone are the days when I couldn't wait to get Phil Steel's magazine and would know all of the top players in the country, not just the conference. Naming off the 3 deep and calling every player by name when they made a play in a game even if they were only in for 2 or 3 plays. I tried to watch games after the decision, and I couldn't do it. College football is broken and my give a damn along with it. I hope the cash makes you happy. Players you are employees now, which means the sport no longer cares for your wellbeing. The powers that be will get rid of your ability to opt out because it will affect their bottom line. The 12-team playoff is just the beginning of Major College Football. You may be getting yours now but all of those behind you will pay dearly for this. Good Luck

I feel so bad for the players and coaching staff. Even without their star player they should still be given a chance. Most people in Doak this year are fsu fans but the rest are noles and watched this team through rock bottom when Doak was empty and you could see kids racing around the stadium this shit hurts those noles

It was a bad call on the committees part, but it's not all bad for FSU. Now...we are gonna train replacements to fill spots all spring, come into next season top 10, with a complete team....of veterans and 2024 commits. The part that should scare everybody....FSU is gonna be the most pissed off team in college football, and out for blood and a National title that was stolen from them. If Norvell has shown anything, it's that he has put the fighting spirit back into FSU and knows how to coach football. This is only the beginning.....FEAR THE SPEAR!
But what about those players who won’t be back next year, who fought to make this team undefeated? Unfair doesn’t even cover it. Corrupt sounds like the word we are looking for. A committee should not be making these decisions unless all teams are undefeated and a decision needs to be made. That was not the case. The one team that automatically should have had a spot was Florida State, they earned it on the field. The selection should of been between the other teams who would play against them. Huge failure in an already corrupt organization.

The whole country got to see exactly what their end game is, and the country don't like it one bit...to the point I think they screwed themselves. While FSU football goes on, and new people come and old ones leave, football is still our mission at the end of the day. When these committee members are all forced to step down, or fired or still there calling shots....FSU will still be playing football and creating stars on the field. We won the ACC Championship for the first time since 2014! That's a huge win for us as a football program in it's 4th year.

The first college football game i ever paid attention to as a kid was 93’ fsu vs notre dame. I was 14 years old. My best friend at the time (still keep in touch with him) was a raging irish fan and of course i wanted to see his team lose lol. Ever since that day ive been a noles fan, through all the great and shiitty seasons, coach bowden passing away and then this years amazing team having the rug pulled out from under them, is as heart breaking as it gets. If memory serves, notre dame won that game and both teams finished the season with one loss. Florida State was awarded the national championship even though they lost head to head to ND. They’ve been fucking up rankings since long before the playoff era. I think fsu should be ranked #3 above Texas personally, I remember talking to my dad about it the day before the rankings dropped and he said he thought they were gonna put bama in instead of fsu. I said they would love to if they could but there’s no way they can leave out an undefeated power 5 conference champ. No fucking way.

That was an awesome video!!!!!!! I've been a Fsu football fan since the early 90's and it's truly f*cked up what the selection committee did by leaving them out after a perfect season. Those kids played their hearts out though all the challenges and adversity they faced all season long.
Regardless of anyone's thoughts about the team, those boys and coaches worked their butts off and finished with an undefeated season, proving their hard work was worth something. I think Taylor Swift said, "haters gonna hate". Ignore them. This is a beautiful tribute!

The fact a team can go undefeated through all adversity, then not go to the playoffs against 2 teams that are not undefeated shows the corruption of this institution. They get free labor from the players, who many of which never recover from injuries sustained. A handful of people are getting massively wealthy off these children. When a team goes undefeated they are number one. Florida State IS NUMBER ONE, BECAUSE of all their injuries and they STILL went undefeated, they deserved to be first pick. It never should have even been a question. They should have been talking about picking between the other teams that had lost games. It’s bad for the institution as a whole and I pray it wakes everyone up to the complete and utter corruption surrounding college football. It’s wrong and this is gonna change something permanently. I hope it becomes a rallying cry to pay them, because apparently ITS A BUSINESS, not a game.
I’m a bama fan and MAN am I excited to be in the playoffs. But at the same time everyone on this FSU team are true warriors. I feel like the #4 spot could’ve been given to either team and I’m not quite sure why it was given to bama, but it was. I only watched a few of the FSU games this year but I could tell that this team was something else. Bama was undeserving. They barely squeaked by the majority of their opponents - USF, AUBURN, ATM, etc. They beat LSU by 10 pts, lost to TX @ home by 10, & only avoided OT with UGA because a fg hit the upright! Even though im an SEC fan, I hope Mich blows BAMA out. I can't imagine how overjoyed this would make all those college football fans who despise & reject the unethical & immoral decision made by the CFP committee to rob FSU of an opportunity to complete their season
I am so proud of what this team has accomplished. They have nothing to hang their head down about. They did everything right. The committee choice isn’t a bad reflection on this team. It shines a bad light on the biased and corrupt committee. I have loved this program since ‘88 and I love them even more today. I’ll be a Nole even in death❤💛
I am disgusted that more ACC coaches and ADs haven’t spoken out against this travesty. The committee spit in the faces of every ACC coach, player and fan, and they need to be made aware of that. The ACC should consider disciplinary measures against NC State’s AD, Boo the Clown Corrigan.

I went to two games this year one being the LSU game and the other begin the Miami game. We got to win the ACC championship and to me that is the end of our season. The orange bowl means nothing after the corruption that has been shown. We could beat Georgia by 100 points and all we did was win a bowl game and didn't win the national championship.

If Georgia beats FSU them it will support the Disney/ESPN/CFP selection for the playoff. 3. Does the $3 BILLION SEC TV deal has anything to do the decision to let the 1 LOSS Alabama into the playoff?

I have a hard time calling this season a success. It’s so painful to look back at any games or highlights from this year. I might even call it the worst college football season ever due to what happened.
Here's something to highly consider that is in fact absolutely legitimate. Even though we have playoffs. The Colley Matrix and the rule itself still definitely exists for times like this. That said & despite the playoff rankings, FSU is still currently #4 in both FPI & AP and just jumped to #3 in Coaches poll. LSU & UGA are both elite SEC teams that are common opponents of FSU & Alabama. Since FSU already beat LSU by a wider margin than Bama did, if Alabama Wins out for the National Championship and FSU beats UGA by 4 points or more which is still very possible, then that could in fact shoot FSU to #1 in all 3 AP, Coaches, & FPI, while Alabama only has #1 in the playoffs. If that happens, the case is wide open and would in fact be valid for FSU to be granted by the NCAA to lay claim to the 2023 National Title even without participating in playoffs due to that Colley Matrix rule and they're definitely don't count key inactives against teams either since its the old school method. In short all Bama has to do is Win the Title & all FSU has to do is win by 4 or more against UGA for both teams to potentially & rightfully share the title. You put this thought anywhere near a PO'd FSU team & this might just wake up a sleeping giant truth be told. Also if this is successful, then FSU has a valid credible case to not only bolt, but potentially sue their way out of the ACC and make them pay the contract buyout for FSU while they also perhaps pursue further legal action against the CFP. Someone pass along please!
One of the best FSU teams in school history and they don’t have a chance to play for a national title in the field. To hell with the arguments they would get blown out. Oregon was supposed to beat Washington by 10. Lost. Georgia was supposed to beat Bama by 7. Lost. To not let an undefeated team earn a shot for a national championship on the field is an absolute joke. I’m not exaggerating when I say the committees decision has changed the course of college football. They could have done the honorable thing and put FSU and Texas in. But they chose to create a narrative that doesn’t have to do much with how FSU had finished the season. They killed a conference doing this. They just told the whole college football world that the ACC is a G5 conference now. Look for major fall out from this. I thought the Washington win over Oregon who was favored by 10 proved the point that no one can predict what these top teams are capable of. I thought it would be a wake up call to all the talking heads and committee members. They just did what they wanted to do anyway. Complete disrespect to ACC. FSU crushed LSU and their defense shut down the Heisman trophy winner. Miami crushed Texas A&M. Clemson has been a dominant team, even BLEW OUT Alabama in a national championship. I'm really not sure why the ACC gets such disrespect. The only answer is media coverage. SEC sells more tickets, gets more views. Such a sad reality that we are witnessing.

That defensive performance in Charlotte was no fluke, it was the most dominating defensive game I've seen this year from anyone. Discredit Louisville all you want, but they entered the game with a 6-year senior at the helm, averaging over 400 plus yards a game, averaging 33 points a game and the Seminoles held them to 188 total yards and 6 points. History of football will teach you that DEFENSE wins Championships, Saban himself has built his legacy on dominating defenses. So did Bobby Bowden so telling anyone with half a football brain that you can't win a national title with a backup QB or a QB that is not the focus of an offense, look at Alabama's line of QB's when Saban was first winning titles. Not all of them were the best player on his teams, they simply distributed the ball to the plethora of playmakers. What the Seminoles have this year at the moment is nothing more and nothing less than what has been used to win titles before. Love this tribute Mr. Harris, what a fine way to show how this team overcame, persevered and cemented themselves in college football history both as an undefeated champion and the team was sadly not allowed to prove themselves for a possible 4th National Title. One thing I've always loved has become tainted and a true disappointment for what amateur sports should be about. The whole mess has gotten too big for it's own britches is what my grandfather would have proclaimed. I would agree.
There's the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat, and now there is this. It is really painful and unfair.
Don't let the committee's decision take away from the absolute blast that this season was. Thank you for the kind words.

Goodbye College Football, I will never forget the memories of the classic games I have watched, not only from MY Seminoles but from the rest of the league. This year was special and bittersweet at the same time. After suffering through years of mediocre football games, my beloved Seminoles have finally put together a team that could compete at the highest level once again. Lots of players had returned to make a run at a National Title and to say the very least I was SUPERHYPED for this season. From the beginning they showed they belonged by beating LSU soundly and from there they answered every bell that rang. Making plays when plays needed to be made. Was it always pretty? Not always, but it rarely ever is. College football is great because you never know how teams will respond. Just Keep Winning! Unbeaten, Undefeated & Unconquered always gets the shot. Sadly, that's no longer true. It's all about the Benjamine's now. Who turns on the TV's, who pays the bills and who creates the best story line. It no longer matters what happens on the field. 13 people in a room decide who plays not the teams on the field. Yesterday I watched the orange bowl, with the sound off because I couldn't stand listening to the commentators sound off on how great the Bulldogs looked against FSU's JV team. I wanted to see what the players were gonna look like who were coming up in the program. Then it dawned on me, maybe none of these players will finish their careers as Seminoles. Recruiting doesn't matter. We lost Marvin Jones Jr to Georgia a couple years ago. Now he is a Seminole. DJU was a Clemson Tiger that I rooted against that same amount of time ago and now he might be a Seminole after being a Beaver? WTF? I loved and rooted for these kids because they wanted to be on my team, and I would root for them once they got to the pros no matter where they went. But they don't care about the team or the school either. So, the players don't matter. Basically, the sport I grew to love, is unrecognizable from what I knew as a younger man. The day my wife's water broke for my 1st child was during the FSU/florida game in 04', When she told me, my response was. "But the games not over yet" She recalls that by the time I brought the car around the game was already on the radio. Ohh the memories, how I will cherish them. This team, how I will cherish these memories of this season. The comebacks the breaking of bad streaks and the class the team and the coaches carried themselves with. Bobby would be proud. That being said, none of it matters anymore. The games, the recruiting and the players don't matter anymore. Ohh, I'll watch the big games when they come on and I will want to see Norvell do great things at FSU, but I will be a casual observer. I'll be able to name the top players on the team but gone are the days when I couldn't wait to get Phil Steel's magazine and would know all of the top players in the country, not just the conference. Naming off the 3 deep and calling every player by name when they made a play in a game even if they were only in for 2 or 3 plays. I tried to watch games after the decision, and I couldn't do it. College football is broken and my give a damn along with it. I hope the cash makes you happy. Players you are employees now, which means the sport no longer cares for your wellbeing. The powers that be will get rid of your ability to opt out because it will affect their bottom line. The 12-team playoff is just the beginning of Major College Football. You may be getting yours now but all of those behind you will pay dearly for this. Good Luck

I feel so bad for the players and coaching staff. Even without their star player they should still be given a chance. I don't care if Alabama beat Georgia, FSU went undefeated and won their conference, even without their star player. They deserve a chance for all the hard work that they put in this season.

It was a bad call on the committees part, but it's not all bad for FSU. Now...we are gonna train replacements to fill spots all spring, come into next season top 10, with a complete team....of veterans and 2024 commits. The part that should scare everybody....FSU is gonna be the most pissed off team in college football, and out for blood and a National title that was stolen from them. If Norvell has shown anything, it's that he has put the fighting spirit back into FSU and knows how to coach football. This is only the beginning.....FEAR THE SPEAR!

But what about those players who won’t be back next year, who fought to make this team undefeated? Unfair doesn’t even cover it. Corrupt sounds like the word we are looking for. A committee should not be making these decisions unless all teams are undefeated and a decision needs to be made. That was not the case. The one team that automatically should have had a spot was Florida State, they earned it on the field. The selection should of been between the other teams who would play against them. Huge failure in an already corrupt organization.

The whole country got to see exactly what their end game is, and the country don't like it one bit...to the point I think they screwed themselves. While FSU football goes on, and new people come and old ones leave, football is still our mission at the end of the day. When these committee members are all forced to step down, or fired or still there calling shots....FSU will still be playing football and creating stars on the field. We won the ACC Championship for the first time since 2014! That's a huge win for us as a football program in it's 4th year.
FSU is here to stay. We will make them regret this forever. ESPN won't be able to mention the playoffs without the Garnet and Gold for decades.

The first college football game i ever paid attention to as a kid was 93’ fsu vs notre dame. I was 14 years old. My best friend at the time (still keep in touch with him) was a raging irish fan and of course i wanted to see his team lose lol. Ever since that day ive been a noles fan, through all the great and shiitty seasons, coach bowden passing away and then this years amazing team having the rug pulled out from under them, is as heart breaking as it gets. If memory serves, notre dame won that game and both teams finished the season with one loss. Florida State was awarded the national championship even though they lost head to head to ND. They’ve been fucking up rankings since long before the playoff era. I think fsu should be ranked #3 above Texas personally, I remember talking to my dad about it the day before the rankings dropped and he said he thought they were gonna put bama in instead of fsu. I said they would love to if they could but there’s no way they can leave out an undefeated power 5 conference champ. No fucking way.

The fact a team can go undefeated through all adversity, then not go to the playoffs against 2 teams that are not undefeated shows the corruption of this institution. They get free labor from the players, who many of which never recover from injuries sustained. A handful of people are getting massively wealthy off these children. Now they are taking away the fundamental of the game which is WINNING.

When a team goes undefeated they are number one. Florida State IS NUMBER ONE, BECAUSE of all their injuries and they STILL went undefeated, they deserved to be first pick. It never should have even been a question. They should have been talking about picking between the other teams that had lost games. Bama was undeserving. They barely squeaked by the majority of their opponents - USF, AUBURN, ATM, etc. They beat LSU by 10 pts, lost to TX @ home by 10, & only avoided OT with UGA because a fg hit the upright! Even though im an SEC fan, I hope Mich blows BAMA out. I can't imagine how overjoyed this would make all those college football fans who despise & reject the unethical & immoral decision made by the CFP committee to rob FSU of an opportunity to complete their season

I'm an ole miss grad & an lsu fan. I'm appalled & angry @ FSU being usurped in the CFP. It saddens me that these well -deserved, gifted, talented men were denied the opportunity to play for a title. Was it a snub by the likes of an ACC CFP committee chair who is jealous his own college (NC State) doesn't have the ability to rise this high? Is it Disney-owned ESPN who's pissed @ the politics of the state of FLORIDA? Was the committee paid off by the SEC & Alabama to ensure a spot? Who knows? One thing is certain, the ethics & integrity of the NCAA just became publicly compromised....... I, personally, have lost all interest in college football 's remaining season......😤😠

I went to two games this year one being the LSU game and the other begin the Miami game. We got to win the ACC championship and to me that is the end of our season. Here's something to highly consider that is in fact absolutely legitimate. Even though we have playoffs. The Colley Matrix and the rule itself still definitely exists for times like this. That said & despite the playoff rankings, FSU is still currently #4 in both FPI & AP and just jumped to #3 in Coaches poll. LSU & UGA are both elite SEC teams that are common opponents of FSU & Alabama. Since FSU already beat LSU by a wider margin than Bama did, if Alabama Wins out for the National Championship and FSU beats UGA by 4 points or more which is still very possible, then that could in fact shoot FSU to #1 in all 3 AP, Coaches, & FPI, while Alabama only has #1 in the playoffs. If that happens, the case is wide open and would in fact be valid for FSU to be granted by the NCAA to lay claim to the 2023 National Title even without participating in playoffs due to that Colley Matrix rule and they're definitely don't count key inactives against teams either since its the old school method. In short all Bama has to do is Win the Title & all FSU has to do is win by 4 or more against UGA for both teams to potentially & rightfully share the title. You put this thought anywhere near a PO'd FSU team & this might just wake up a sleeping giant truth be told. Also if this is successful, then FSU has a valid credible case to not only bolt, but potentially sue their way out of the ACC and make them pay the contract buyout for FSU while they also perhaps pursue further legal action against the CFP. Someone pass along please!

One of the best FSU teams in school history and they don’t have a chance to play for a national title in the field.
To hell with the arguments they would get blown out. Oregon was supposed to beat Washington by 10. Lost. Georgia was supposed to beat Bama by 7. Lost.
To not let an undefeated team earn a shot for a national championship on the field is an absolute joke. I’m not exaggerating when I say the committees decision has changed the course of college football.
They could have done the honorable thing and put FSU and Texas in. But they chose to create a narrative that doesn’t have to do much with how FSU had finished the season.
They killed a conference doing this. They just told the whole college football world that the ACC is a G5 conference now. Look for major fall out from this.

I thought the Washington win over Oregon who was favored by 10 proved the point that no one can predict what these top teams are capable of. I thought it would be a wake up call to all the talking heads and committee members. They just did what they wanted to do anyway.
Complete disrespect to ACC. FSU crushed LSU and their defense shut down the Heisman trophy winner. Miami crushed Texas A&M. Clemson has been a dominant team, even BLEW OUT Alabama in a national championship. I'm really not sure why the ACC gets such disrespect. The only answer is media coverage. SEC sells more tickets, gets more views. Such a sad reality that we are witnessing.
