Sara and I loved your journey. Thank you for sharing it with us. We've both been there on the flat situation. I've got you beat there, sort of. On a sixteen mile section I had 5 flats here locally. Kept fixing and fixing and finally noticed my rim-liner was torn and the spokes were puncturing the tube, rear tire, OF COURSE. Finally fixed it with strips of Gorilla tape.. We can't wait for your next one. Love ya ladies.
I absolutely love this ride. Wondering Out Yonder pointed out all the great parts of your wrap up ending. I for one will be waiting anxiously for your next adventure. Congratulations on another bucket list completion.
What a cool adventure. I hate that the temperature was so bad and hard to deal with. I loved your stealth camping in plain sight. Cant wait to see whats next.
You two are incredible. Right, there's the romance of the planning, then there's the actual pursuit. The two are not always anywhere near to being the same.
Congratulations on another epic trip! Can't believe you got three flats in the very last stretch. I always like to watch you complete your adventures but it's also sad...till the next one. Mary Poppins just published a new blog on her Sierra cross country hike so I look forward to following that. She's an incredible athlete!
Congrats on another awesome adventure!....and yes, it's funny how aging is...our brain and body sometimes don't always match up; brain says, "this will be so cool and I'm ready too go"...body says, "wait, what?"
My sister did the luxury version where they rode the bikes, but had a van to carry luggage to the next hotel. This year just seems to be hot all over except in my corner of the PNW which is having a very pleasant summer. I have a theory that summer got turbo charged by the volcano in Tonga in January, but I could be wrong. I will revisit my theory next summer. I use little sticky patches called Skabs to fix tubes, but I still carry tubes, but not a lot. The little patches take up less space and might save some money, but requires finding the puncture instead of just changing the tube. Thanks for taking us along on the adventure.
Twenty years ago I vacationed on PEI and brought a bike so I could train - cross season was right around the corner. Covered the entire island. Practically no cars, no pissed-off drivers, friendliest, most welcoming people on earth - and I've traveled some. The converted rail lines are nice but you see more of the island by way of the roads. One of my favorite vacations ever, anywhere.
Really enjoyed your adventure! We arrived on PEI a few weeks after you and absolutely loved the island, the scenery and the people. Well done...I love cycling , but could not do it day, after day. What were your favourite parts of the island? What parts would you skip? We stayed in Victoria, lovely town, if some what isolated.
Well done ladies! I know I couldn't do what you 2 just did! You even road right by my house...you could have stopped in for a water refill. Many bikers have done that over the years.
So happy that you enjoyed our PEI. Loved watching your adventures on the island and had a good experience meeting the locals. Here's hoping we can keep our rural feel with fields of corns, potatoes etc. Thanks so much for sharing, looking forward to your next adventure :)
Loved your trip around PEI. As a person who lives on the Island (Charlottetown) it was neat to see the Island through visitors' eyes. A job well done. So pleased that you enjoyed are little piece of heaven.
Loved, loved this adventure and how you keep it real. I enjoy the inspirational messages at the end of your videos so much! Now rest and then decide what’s next!
Hey girls, its me! Just watched "the big finish", great trip, thanks, best part is the last part where you all are somewhere inside re-couping, thank you for the video, look forward for the next one!
This video brought back so many memories of cycle touring through the Pyrenees (Spain, 1986) in a July heat wave. Getting up in the dark and cycling at first light because biking past noon was just too hot, dealing with multiple successive flat tires (patches would not stick due to heat and humidity, wrong size tube that popped the tire off), setting up our tent in the ditch by the highway because the cops pulled us over and told us it was getting too dark to bike, only to wake up in the morning to discover we had set up our tent in a patch of stinging nettle! Still some of my best memories! Thanks for continuing to share your adventures - can't wait to see what you will be up to next!
You two are truly amazingly, strong women! Loved Annette's comment that "women of a certain age are invisible and you're just taking advantage of it," when you were stealth camping out in the open! You two are anything but invisible to all of us. Keep on keepin' on!
All I can say is YOU ARE AMAZING!!! I’m only a tad bit older than you and I just no longer have the strength And balance to do what I wish I could still do! But, you inspire me to fix that!! And I will…. I am going to get to that place where I can DO WHAT I WANT TO DO!! Thank you for your inspiration!!
It's the law in PEI that motorists have to share the road. They have to give a bicycle 1 meter of space. It is part of the motor vehicle act and is called "Ellen's law" in New Brunswick where it was first implemented. We have it in Ontario too. It's a fairly new rule. About 5 years now.
OMG. I was so excited to see you were in Sackville NB for your wrap up. I lived there for 4 years while attending Mt. Allison Univ. It wasn’t very big in the 60’s when I was there but it was a cute little town. Enjoyed your bike tour of PEI. The island was always known for its red soil and fantastic potatoes and Anne of Green Gables. It is a beautiful place. If you’re still in NB when you read this try and get over to Fundy National Park and the Bay of Fundy. Amazingly beautiful.
awesome as always! PEI is great! I took my daughter up there camping. horse back and jet ski..she was 8yrs old .. would have rather seen the island your way. love you guys!
If it’s already hot, the liquid can only cool down when it gets to your stomach so actually better for you than a cold drink that will only warm up inside you
All the wildflowers! So pretty. I love the way you do things, prepared but taking things as they come. Trying to live my life more that way myself, but I’ll probably never be as adventurous as you two ladies. Can’t wait to see where you are off to next. 😎
Lol - "We're old and we can do what we want" - love that! And that's how it should be! WAWO Style thru and thru! Nothing like reminiscing about the AT (via a stinky shirt lol) - the humidity has just been terrible all over lately! Love the gas station dinner !! You ladies can make any situation work! That morning rain had to be such a welcome heat deterrent! Oh no - the tire! Awesome though that at least it waited until you were almost done! And then things come in three.......ugh! Can't wait to see what you ladies are going to do next! Keep making memories & adventure on! ~Karen & Shannon WOY
Bravo on repairing the flat tire on the side of the road! You girls rock! Have really enjoyed following your adventures on thru hiking and biking. Keep on keeping on!
Amazing Wandering Women... who make lemonade out of what life throws you lemons.. 3 flats in 30 minutes? So glad to be along with you as I heal... thanks for your positive messages... can't wait to see where you roll on to your next adventure.. Stay safe!
Congratulations ladies. You girls are amazing 👏 and such inspiration to all of us watching. Can hardly wait to see what your next adventure will. Happy trails.
Congrats ladies! What a trip! Some lovely country trails, lakes and quaint cemeteries. What a hot day when you stopped at the gas station to get in the shade! You looked absolutely exhausted. I enjoyed the talk at the end of this video, just telling us how you felt about everything. It was a joy to join you on this adventure. We have a trail here in Wisconsin called the Elroy-Sparta Bike Trail. It's a 32 mile rail-to-trail which goes thru beautiful Amish countryside, with 3 tunnels and quaint little country towns every 10 miles where you can stop to eat. People come from all over the world to bike this trail. I've biked it 3 times. Just love it. There's camping on either end of the trail and a campground about midway, right on the trail called Tunnel Trail Campground with showers, little store. This is all countryside from beginning to end. Very pretty. I'm excited for your next adventure! Take care.
Y’all are amazing, incredible and plan crazy to do that in the sun and heat 🥵 I admire your determination to finish whatever you start. You are too very strong women. Enjoy life, get out and do more. Thank you so much for sharing that journey with us.👍🏻❤️🤩🤗

Not a fan of heat, humidity and bugs. It was warm and humid on our hike this morning. I’m ready for Fall. Love the fields of yellow (canola or?). Love Ellery 💕 . Seeing lots of PCT hikers here now. Have you noticed the mornings are darker later now?
Thank you for this wonderful exploration of my home province! I live in Saint John, New Brunswick but have the great fortune of having grown up on the Island and now I own my family home outside of Souris. It has been such a pleasure following you on your adventures.
Thank you! You two are an inspiration. The positivity, smiles, energy (sometimes just authentic truths with low energy), and adventures are heartwarming. I stumbled upon your channel a couple of months ago, such a blessing to see such wonderful content on this channel.
I love you ladies! You make me laugh. “Ladies of a certain age are invisible, and we are taking advantage of it.” You ladies are awesome and such an inspiration! You keep moving forward in life with challenges, goals and adventure, no matter your age.
This is the video I was waiting for :) My Grandmother was from Elmira and took the train out of that station many times in the early 1900's. East Point has my heart. I live in Pennsylvania now and miss my island, loved following along on this journey with you. Wishing you safe travels on your way back home.
As always, thanks so much for taking us along with you on your adventures! One thing I enjoy is following along using Google Maps. As you go from town to town, I zoom in on those towns, use Street View, and see the actual businesses you're passing as you walk or bike along. Thanks again! Remember, the Arizona Trail is still here!
Great adventure! Even with those flats at the end. It certainly looked very hot but you two always turn a lemon into lemonade. What adventure is happening next? Blessings and safe adventures.
Well done ladies! It was super hot and I was a little concerned knowing how narrow the roads are here, nice to know you've safely arrived back to your vehicle. You have accurately described the trail. Thoroughly enjoyed, happy trails.
I have followed you since PCT , I had planned walking this, I canceled due to the same thing you said, service to an fro was just to $$$. Perhaps I have to Familiarize Myself to a bike and do the same thing as you did the summer. So nice to see you again since last year. ❤️
Flat tires seem to become a serial problem. I rode over 2000 miles on a set of tires then they started to go flat almost every time I rode. Solution new tires, I think they breakdown and start to loose their integrity. Even the best tires don’t seem to last much past 2000 miles. Put some new shoes on your horse and ride don’t forget the socks (tubes) they breakdown too. Having a seem split or valve stem crack can make a good roll go bad. Happy Pedaling.
Another great adventure!!! Thank you for sharing! QUESTION: Now that you've done the previous bike ride and this one, are you still liking the longer biking tour thing vs hiking long trails like you used too? Just wondering what your thoughts are going forward. Continued blessings 🙌

I love that I found you guys as I’m from PEI and there is no way I could do that ride. Glad that you finished Monday as Tuesday morning we had a bad downpour of rain, sorry about the heat as PEI isn’t normally this hot. I can’t wait to see your next adventure.

@@brian4179 @Brian Glad to hear it. I've been to PEI twice but it was years ago. I know many states or provinces depend on tourists. Kristy may show mostly the clips without vehicles. They were on the rail trail a lot of the time, too.

@@brian4179 @Brian Glad to hear it. I've been to PEI twice but it was years ago. I know many states or provinces depend on tourists. Kristy may show mostly the clips without vehicles. They were on the rail trail a lot of the time, too.
I thought women of all ages are invisible or am I just being too cynical 😉
