I believe they were indicating that Rosemary could get herself in a dangerous situation if that's so I don't believe Lee will allow her to continue sleuthing. I've always thought that the umbrella was going to show up, and Lucas was going to remember. Since the writing team made a point of saying that it was never recovered. People thought that it was Henry's son Christopher, the writing team cleared that up, and some thought it was Jeanette, which I don't think it is, and some thought it was Madeline. I really don't believe it was Madeline because she already warned them about Governor Balfour. However that being said I believe it's possible it could be a shocker when we find out who it is. In that case I think it's possible it could be Madeline but to me that's far-fetched but if the writers are looking for a shock and awe element to the ending of this mystery it's possible.
When Amos Dixon was in the saloon, he had a sidekick with him. Could it be possible that Lucas was saying, 'What are you doing here' to Amos & his sidekick got to close to Lucas trying to protect Amos which resulted in the struggle & shooting of Lucas? Remember, Dixon had connections & could have been released from prison early again.
No need to push for going more deeply into the situation between Elizabeth and Higgins. What little Elizabeth shares would have been appropriate for her to share in this time period.
I think you may have misunderstood our intention. We weren’t pushing for her to share more. And you’re right, it would NOT have been appropriate for her to share more. We only meant that we’re not going to find out anymore, and that’s okay because it’s a family show. We didn’t WANT her to say more, just mentioning the fact.
Firstly, I love the Karate Kid movies (Ralph Macchio versions only)! Secondly, this is not the first time I've heard people say Nathan was petty in episode 5. I think that's not fair because from the time the engagement was broken off right up to episode 5, Elizabeth still had been spending some time with Lucas (rushing to his side when he was in hospital, working with him to plan the Easter hunt and now stroking his arm in public) and had not verbalised specifically to Nathan how she was feeling about him. Yes, she was dropping hints but they weren't clear enough; why wouldn't Nathan be reminded of S8 when he thought Elizabeth was interested in him ("I know you feel the same way") but was eventually rejected by her? I think it's perfectly understandable he'd still feel a bit insecure and apprehensive, until Elizabeth and Lucas made it clear they were just friends. Like what Sarah said, Nathan has had bad luck with multiple women -- him treating Elizabeth coldly at the start of episode 5 is his defence mechanism based on bad memories kicking in. Thirdly, about Mei and Hickam - their relationship is coming along very nicely and the dinner was indeed gorgeous. Apart from the mystery of who shot Lucas, I think there's an additional mystery going on - who's gonna get married at the end of the season?? My money's on Mei and Hickam but the writers keep saying the season is full of surprises, so maybe Nathan and Elizabeth are the ones tying the knot. I know some say they haven't even gone on a proper date but Higgins, Tom Thornton and Ally's search for her dad are huge plotlines that will solidify Nathan and Elizabeth's relationship and push them towards deciding they're each other's endgame. There wouldn't be much point in dragging out a courtship in S12 and it's better to finally showcase Elizabeth as a married woman adjusting to a blended family. Finally, you weren't the only ones hoping for Gowen and Higgins to meet in episode 6. In general I think we've seen too little of Gowen so far this season, but judging from the synopses of upcoming episodes, he'll be working more closely with Lucas. Really looking forward to that. P.S. A tea ceremony is a major aspect of a traditional Chinese wedding; tea is served to the couple's elders.

I was only talking about that one circumstance. However, if you remember, I also said that he had every right to demand that question of Elizabeth. I do agree she went too far with a man she’s no longer engaged to. I just also meant that Nathan defaulted a little bit before moving forward to be openly communicative
