Thank you for the kind words and it's been nice being able to talk to you about this! It's strange to see how far my art has gone without people knowing it's mine but that's just how things go. I always wondered who got the ball rolling on it being real so that was cool to see too! Great video and here's to many more ♥
Your spritework is incredible- I've been in love with that buryman sprite since I was a dumb kid, I don't even know why, it just felt so visceral and authentic. Right up there in creepypasta sprites with Godzilla NES imo. I really hope you get more recognition. As someone whos also made something that blew up way out of their hands, I can definitely relate to how that feels, haha
@@EbolaGranola Thanks! It's a weird feeling, imo. Like I don't REALLY care but at the same time there's BIG youtubers that don't know it's mine and don't credit it and it's like, damn, I'm just helping them without anything in return lmao It's not really about the popularity or anything-just damn im even credited on the wiki lmaoo
@@KamiSamaSensei Yeah I def get what you mean. Plus, like, when you tell people 'hey! i did that thing! :D', there's always that one guy who just DEMANDS proof and calls you a faker or attention seeker. It's all just kind of anxious to engage with.
@@EbolaGranola Oooof been there done that! I have tried in the past and have been met with angry replies, calling me an attention seeker and all that and it's like, bro I can send you my DeviantArt page RIGHT NOW what do you want lmaoo
It's becoming increasingly common for me to find pages that are "excluded" from Wayback Machine. We _are_ losing a lot, but instead of burning in one flashy display, our own Great Library is slowly rotting a little more each day
The original author possibly being a flash game developer is actually a really plausible idea and is a damn good observation. I always just assumed as a kid that the incompatible file types were chosen as some implication that Nintendo planned for the GameBoy to be more technically ambitious than it ended up being. Of course, I didn't realize .swf was only a thing for flash games.
That fucking thing visited me as a sleep paralysis demon after watching this video so that’s earned you a like and subscription in my book. Glad to know who the sprite artist is too so I know who to thank for my nightmares.
It's nice to know where the "old" version of the buried alive comes from, especially since I prefer it to the one in Hypno's Lullaby. Also, it's odd, TH-cam said there was 20 minutes at first, but it's 18 minutes on the dot here. Must have been seeing things.
I always loved how all the classic Lavender Town-centric Creepypastas were part of one big mythos. It always made me imagine a much darker bizarro version of the original Pokemon games, especially when taking into account other popular theories/headcanon at the time like Gary’s Raticate and the Pokemon war.
When I originally read Lavender Town Syndrome, LTS/ghost/white hand/buryman were all together as one work, so it was weird recently looking them up and seeing them as separate pages on the creepypasta wiki. I feel like I remember them being on one page on the wiki at some point, but it may have been somewhere else.
I wonder if the originql author could show up some day, and hopefully verify so Its always a joy to see how the authors of popular creepypastas react to their stories becoming sybobimous with the genre, i remember seeing (assumedly) Red Most's Author do a quick QnA and that was amazing, if they are still alive, hope they are doing good and know how much his story affected the Pokepasta community
Midnight, you think someone mistaking Buried Alive being a real sprite was bad? I’ve seen someone, in the year of 2023, thinks Lavender Town Syndrome was a real incident.. and they were a full grown adult
buried alive has sprites made by a fan its bad when people say that buried alive was a real scrapped event because the artist doesnt get credit for their work
Very nice to see someone actually acknowledge the nonsense filetypes and stuff the Gameboy couldn't possibly do - I remember a lot of youtubers I watched back in like 2014-2015 didn't and that really, really annoyed me. The idea of the original writer being a Flash dev who wasn't super experienced with programming (since even outside of filetypes, they make the weird error of calling "functions" as "protocols") makes sense, especially since the pasta was pre-2010 and Flash probably would've been one of the most accessible programming tools for a kid/teen back then.
Obviously Buried Alive is fake, but it would’ve been awesome if it was real. Just another level of depth. I wouldn’t doubt that Gamefreak had an idea for something like this, but not to this extreme.
Krick do you know the "if you see her turn off the game" creepypasta? thought you might like it, from what you said in the classic creepypasta videos this story is right up your alley, theres a great reading of that story by a channel called Lone Ghost, its unlisted but the playlist is avaliable in his channel.
I'd somehow never heard of this one, gave it a read based on your comment. God damn that was a good story, wow - would've kept me up for ages if I'd seen it as a kid. Thanks for recommending it!
hahahahahahahah oh my god that ending…!! my first thought was, this is too on-point to be VFX, who the hell did krick recruit to make this, thezzazzglitch?!!? turns out that while the SAV was made by cello2wc it was built upon the source code from another creepypasta-like SAV… which was made by thezzazzglitch. #vindicated

This made me think of Takeshi Shudo and how dark his original vision for the Pokemon franchise was.

Love you're videos krick! very excited to see this one in my notifs. Buried alive is one of the only creepypastas that really scared me as a kid.
I’m sick as hell and literally all I’ve been doing is rewatching kricks videos. Happy to see a new upload

The issue of credit and authors lost to time seems to be a really big problem with old creepypastas. A shame really.
can he hit the griddy tho?
*BURIEDALIVE used The Griddy! it was super effective!*
''finally,fresh meat,omnomnomnom!'' LOL
I love Buried Alive. Though it’s funny, I called it “Fresh meat” for a long long time
