I absolutely love how Japan embraces the solo dining experience! It seems odd to go to a K/JBBQ place alone or any restaurant for that matter but with places like this, Ichiran, or Ikinari, it seems perfectly normal to just enjoy a nice meal and drink by yourself. Ultimate self-care/love
So true. I once sat in a café on a nice sunny sunday afternoon and because there were so many people on the streets the café was full. A couple asked if it is okay to sit at my table and so we talked to each other. But the woman was bewildered because I was on my own (as a woman). No, she would never do that! :D But hey it was just a spontanous trip and I was a single. But I didn't want to sit at home alone. I never had a problem going out alone but a lot of people are really bewildered If I do, especially as a woman. In Germany. Were woman can do that if they want. Oh boy ... society.
I LOVE resturants where you can do everything on your own, and don't have to talk to people ❤. This makes me (who is an introvert and a loner) very VERY happy 😁😁😁😁🤗. This needs to be a common thing, worldwide.
It would be even nicer if it's a soundproof room so I can slurp and burp all I want. Also, the food needs to be brought by robots or some conveyor system. No interaction with pesky humans please. 😆😋🤗
I really enjoy how you present the experience. Most TH-cam content seems to feel the need to fill the air with useless prattle. I like the simple text and being able to hear the ambient noise of the space. It feels much more personal.
What an interesting idea for a restaurant. I really like how the table has a perfect cut out for the tray to fit in instead of just putting the tray on top of the table!
Your friendship with Satoshi is amazing. Most people would feel uncomfortable when there is too much silence, but it seems like you guys are able to hang out without even saying anything to each other. A relationship where you guys can feel comfortable in silence is very rare, respect!!!

Ahhhh only if that was anywhere near true in Japan rip. They have a lot of social norms people have to follow or else they will think you are weird and outwardly try to outcast you.
Gotta love the 70s/80s rock in the background. The food looks good too! When I lived in Japan "strawberry shortcake" was a completely different concept than what I grew up with in the USA. Here, we literally use "shortcake" sponge (usually it's just the bottom half of a biscuit) for the bottom layer (about a half inch thick), pile in a bunch of chopped and sugared strawberries, and then top it with whipped cream (fresh or from a can) and the other half of the biscuit and add more strawberries and cream on top. In Japan, it's an entire cake - which to me is not "shortcake" but just a "strawberry cake." lol...
I love yakiniku when I visit Japan (love all the food actually!), but my absolute favorite is fresh ramen after a night of beer, before going back to the hotel. Can't wait to visit Japan again...hopefully soon.
I love solo dining. I wish I had done it more often, as I have a kid now and that makes it harder, but it’s still possible. It’s just nice to just eat and have time to yourself.
Thank you for posting this. I hope that this place still exists when I will finally be able to return to Japan without a quarantine. Whenever that will be.
Love the concept of an individual grilling station. The meats looked delicious...... As for dessert, I usually choose something chocolate..... I love dense desserts like fudge, peanut butter pie with a thick layer of fudge or ganache, ice cream, and chocolate chip cookies. Sometimes I want something fresh and fruity, like a key lime pie or chocolate dipped strawberries. Yummy.
The food you ate today in this video, they all looked delicious, but my favorite of them all is the Strawberry Short Cake. That cake looked so good, I wanted to be there with you and eat some myself. I love deserts, I can't choose a favorite because I love them all. Actually I love all food in general. I'm a girl that I will try something at least once, if I don't like it, at least I can say that I've tried it once. Lol. Great video. ❤❤❤
