HEY! Thanks as always. I just started running this on Saturday for my friends. First time I've run *in person* since the world started burning down -- so having watched this series thus far I've felt way better prepared.

I've watched this video a dozen times.
This last time was the first time I noticed the mickey mouse christmas bag for the fishy smelly off cuts to give to the miconids. It literally made me LOL imagining the players handing that very bag and telling the aggressive angry fungus people "Happy Christmas! Enjoy our unwanted fish guts!

how about when Mek and Min came to dig up dragon bones a few days ago, they caused a rock slide in the back of the cave. This now prevents the gas from escaping. Because the dragon bones were somehow connected to the elemental realm of fire, the crystal/egg was there anyway, the Myconids just weren't bothered by it.
I am soon going to run this starter set as my first dnd, and as DM! After many years of not playing any RPGs… I am reading this started set rn, thanks for these videos, It will definitely help, wish me good luck

Great Video, i plan to let the fume Drakes repeat "Sharruth vhir" witch translates to "Sharruth below" in draconic to tease up a "Sharruths Tomb" miniadventure after the group (hopefully) defeats sparkrender
That's a good idea! I tend to mostly ignore the Sharruth influence on DOSI because it's not directly relevant to the players' goals

Hey, I’m about to run my first campaign and noticed that Phandalin has a rumor about a lighthouse that is luring ships to their demise. I’m going to make that into a hook to get to stormwreck isle, and merge LMoP, DoIP and Dragonwreck isle into an Uber noob campaign. Thought you might like the idea , feel free to steal

Thanks, this is super helpful! So, how DO the tides affect the octopus encounter? I'm thinking...the octopus can't drag them down as far at low tide? Anything else? I'm guessing I'll want to do something that rewards the players for choosing one tide over the other...
My thinking was the tides would determine whether the octopus is encountered at all.

What DC do you recommend for the social skill challenge?
I'd keep it low, like DC10
Can someone explain me what a DC 13 CON save is? Is it that the players must roll a D20 and have a higher result than 13 + any con bonus? to pass?
Correct! D20 + CON Bonus, trying to beat a 13.
My players almost got killed by that octopus and you suggest making it even stronger?😂 Not for first timers my man
I ran this for two groups who both did well against the buffed octopus. One was a party of three.
I personally teally like the octopus having 4 or 5 smaller slam attacks and 1 grapple slam. It could use any attack as a bonus attack or reaction to make it feel alive.
We are doing Stormwreck Isle Campaign right now and the 3 other players in my team are a Bard, Wizard and Cleric. I'm a tanky half elf, princess, kleptomaniac Rogue. We managed to take down the octopus really fast. I also am really good at damage dealing and magic missiles are so good for wizards. Poor Octopus never stood a chance. We were all level 2 by the way.
