Hancocks i thought it was going to be the cider that comes from near me in devon. It was on the way to the dentist and whwn i went as a kid my mum used to get me a small sweet cider from there as a treat. These wre the best videos
Absolutely amazing video mate sorry been very busy and it took 3 nights to watch this video. I love the the architecture more then anything with the drunk commentary 🤟😝👌
Once again I must say, as an American, I am quite envious of the pubs there in the UK. The fact that you could use buses and a train to travel from town to town and visit so many nice little pubs is amazing. You all need to realize what you have there.
I got to spend a month in England & Scotland. The pubs there are amazing and I met wonderful folks. We just don’t have these beautiful old places like that here in the States. Late 1700s is the oldest I can think of in my town.
I was in the railway in Bridgend last month and had a pint while waiting for the train it was under 3 quid , my misses had a pint of Bow £2:80 it's pretty reasonable in there
It's a lovely spot is Cowbridge. If you catch a bus to Porthcawl it's worth getting off and making a pit-stop. Some proper pubs untouched by the major chains and very much supported by local patrons. Great selection of beers on tap. Warm welcome you've had there dude which demonstrates the friendliness of the people of Cowbridge. Many a character to have a chat with for sure. NB: Tegestology, derived from the Latin word 'teges' meaning 'mat', is a hobby that has been around almost as long as beer mats themselves. Definitely 'conspicuous' ;)..Doorways were short because back in the day people were short due to lack of nutrition. Now people are just as short but very fat lol. Excellent pub travelogue dude. hope it gets the views it desrves. da iawn.
I live in Cowbridge you drove past my apartment. It has a lush Indian restaurant called The Shampan and great Chinese restaurant called The Riverview . The Duke of wellington is my fave pub as they have a large hall upstairs and have some great bands play there also huge hall downstairs which you,ve shown. It’s a great place also for watching the 6 nations and the food is great ❤ my kids like it in there as they let them play their old piano. I’m originally from Barry so know your town well. Cowbridge is amazing at Christmas and has great food and drinks festivals. Llantwit town is great also. It has the best butchers I would say in the Vale of Glamorgan. Great vlog Simon 10/10
1:51 “What’s a good example of the most successful people in Cardiff, you know - people who can afford to live in Cowbridge?” “The manager of CostCo?” 😂
Chris! I'm so happy to see him again. Just gutted he was driving so you couldn't do the awkward hand shake 😂 great to see you. I only paused it two minutes in so back to watching.
My old stomping ground in Cowbridge. The Masons Arms used to be the pub you started off in around 15-16 years old. The police used to pop in every now and then, but you tended to get the impression they preferred everyone being in there than in the parks/fields.
I went & stayed in Cowbridge, at the Bear Hotel apartments, for a friends wedding at Bryngarw House. Yes it is rather posh/upmarket and rather pricey but we had a wonderful time... super friendly people 👍🍻
FYI Mozzas have a had another drop recently, picked up a new Salt NEIPA called DRIP and a NM Impy Stout called ‘BERTHA’ x Get Baked. Both worth a review I’d say. There were a couple of others IPA’s and Stouts from Kirkstall, NM and another brewery I think.
You should put up a account where we can donate money so you can take your car and sleep at a hotel to get to "hard" to get places and continue doing these videos! :)
The Tudor needs to make up what it wants to be called, it's been The Globe, The Tudor Tavern, The Globe again and now the Tudor Tavern again!!! You missed The Boverton Castl,e a 10 minute walk down the road. My parents ran it through the 80's and 90's...
Nice vid, but you ended up half pissed and mistook a phone box for a postbox which housed a defibrillator which you couldn't even say, lol. Lucky you didn't need it! Cheers Boom!
Exactly. If you're gonna go record a video visiting multiple pubs and drinking in those pubs you don't wanna be getting half cut downing train beers and a bottle in a bottle shop. The shop comment also doesn't reflect well on the pubs he's apparently trying to promote. Pubs are trying their best and he well knows they have more costs involved.
Be more careful what you say about Cowbridge. You decorated my house a few years ago. You did a good job and I may call you back? By the way you still missed two pubs. also buses run every 30 mins to Cardiff/Bridgend, no need to go to Llantwit.
Many years ago I frequented Llantwit Major, remember the chip shop with a picture of Pope John Paul on the wall, always wondered why, and the fantastic India restaurant and take away, but the pubs, well there were ok but as being an English Man when you walked in the locals stopped talking and looked at us before continuing there conversations in Welsh after swapping from English. Not I place I fondly liked to be honest.
I just have Caerphilly to do now in South Wales in terms of pubs and I am too thinking of leaving Wales, its the 20 miles per hour speed limit that was the last straw for me. I fancy Oxford to be honest
You have a brilliant job my friend What are you doing now I love to do it when I retire and travel around the country and just live a bit love your pub revue awesome! ..…ᘛ⁐̤ᕐᐷ
@7:14 Well, I didn't expect that. Looks like Paris' Louvre (without the pyramid lol) but in Wales. 😉😂From the Netherlands, Iechyd da Simon🍺🍻🍺
I love This type of videos. The best vids on This channel. The reason Why Im subbed.
If you head this way again one day be sure to drop into the Plough & Harrow in Monknash. It's a beautiful historic pub well worth a visit.
Out on the road and on the ale.
Nice.

A great, great video!
The Vale of Glamorgan is rich pickings for stuff like this. St Hillary, Aberthaw, Penarth .. 🍻
These tour videos are the best. Please keep making them. Cheers🍻

I gotta get across the pond and visit these towns. Pubs everywhere. Wonderful.
Was in the VOG yesterday. The meals are great. Not too expensive.
I was in the railway in Bridgend last month and had a pint while waiting for the train it was under 3 quid , my misses had a pint of Bow £2:80 it's pretty reasonable in there
Love these "guides" so much history and interesting places!

Simon, these are very cool vids. Imageine, when we wuld do it in Estonia. Hanging around, different good bars. Some biers ;)
Great video Simon. I've been wanting to stay in Cowbridge for a while but Llantwit impressed me more.
Did you get to see the enormous immigrant camp ?
you missed the best pub, Town Hall Square!
Great vid 👍
Love the out and abouts mate
You cant beat having a swig on the train....i love it...
The only way to travel
Chris! I'm so happy to see him again. Just gutted he was driving so you couldn't do the awkward hand shake 😂 great to see you. I only paused it two minutes in so back to watching.
Great crawl, looks a good spot.. ill have to visit sometime!
I am surprised you didn't visit the Town Hall Square Pub Cowbridge. A bit of a quirky pub with great ale. Owned by the Coach Brewing Co.
I missed it :-(
I had no idea it was legal to drink alcohol in a beer shop
I stayed in Llantwit Major a few years back, and thought the selection of pubs were great
Yes! The return of Tim from the office!
Chris should return for a 'Beer snacks in 2024' special!
Miss Hancocks HB, used to be a decent and cheap pint in my student days. Haven't seen it anywhere for years.
Vlog Pontypridd Si. Got the Bunch of Grapes, llanover arms, Otley Brewpub, Bragdy brewery on the Treforest estate etc. Direct train from Barry.
My first job when I was 16 was collecting glasses in the Bear Hotel
This was brilliant!
My old stomping ground in Cowbridge. The Masons Arms used to be the pub you started off in around 15-16 years old. The police used to pop in every now and then, but you tended to get the impression they preferred everyone being in there than in the parks/fields.
And then progress to the Horse and Groom
I went & stayed in Cowbridge, at the Bear Hotel apartments, for a friends wedding at Bryngarw House. Yes it is rather posh/upmarket and rather pricey but we had a wonderful time... super friendly people 👍🍻
yeah real high rollers those costco managers

Hi, is the Royal Oak still in Cowbridge, or has it been demolished?
Not sure to be honest.
Would love to see you do Pont-y-Clun and Talbot Green. 🍺🍺
We’ve got the Pipeworks bar which only serves craft beers
Good stuff
50:49 those old steps look like steps to make mounting a horse easier, which probably wasn't an easy thing to do after a few pints.
when she said Staropramen you didn't reply "Strap on", which surprised me! 🙂
You should put up a account where we can donate money so you can take your car and sleep at a hotel to get to "hard" to get places and continue doing these videos! :)
I need a bigger TV
The Duke in Cowbridge has now got Hawkstone on tap. You must have just been too early.
Hey man, you're in my neck of the woods. Enjoy.
I wish I was paying 5 pound a pint
Love how manic he is when he’s out
The Tudor needs to make up what it wants to be called, it's been The Globe, The Tudor Tavern, The Globe again and now the Tudor Tavern again!!! You missed The Boverton Castl,e a 10 minute walk down the road. My parents ran it through the 80's and 90's...
I'm surprised you didn't wear the Aldi white daps you said were more comfortable than those your wearing. I guess... clicks and lies hey!
Yep after all these Years of knowing you Simon it is finally the honour to bestow on you the Title of ALKI LMAO LOL that was hilarious
Asking the old lady if they do draught beer
I can absolutely never go from ales to lager.
It's Chris!
Madri is very prevalent in your area. I find it a very disappointing, tasteless lager. Can’t work out why it is so popular.
Augustiner Dunkel? All downhill from there 😉🍻
This is a historical moment. ( clockwise)
Automatic door in Wales whatever next !
Can't believe those Romans didn't build a train station
Steep inclines either side of the town, ease-west,, too steep for trains. Line did run north-south, but mainly freight.
Non-stop traffic
The Bear must have been an old jail or court perhaps?
Nice vid, but you ended up half pissed and mistook a phone box for a postbox which housed a defibrillator which you couldn't even say, lol. Lucky you didn't need it! Cheers Boom!

I think Hankocks HB is owned and brewed by Glamorgan Brewing. Llantrisant.
It's brewed by Molson Coors these days.
Be more careful what you say about Cowbridge. You decorated my house a few years ago. You did a good job and I may call you back?
By the way you still missed two pubs. also buses run every 30 mins to Cardiff/Bridgend, no need to go to Llantwit.
The Great British Pub Crawl guy does this kind of video much better for anyone interested
he's good, I'll watch both but prefer Simon, thanks 😊
Still calling Chris real ale 140? He’s not uploaded a video for 10 years 🤔
Do you ever drink wines and spirits?
'very popular with older people ',there it is,Simon, you are offical an old fart 😂😅
Damn you beat me to it
Half cut and he hasn’t even got there yet 😂

If the people of Llantwit Major spoke Welsh, you must have been there in about 1800 mate.
@@garethjones2298 It certainly felt like the 1800s😂
😂😂
Bayside lager is vile
