    Ireland is much smaller than the Uk and when ireland was under british rule english landlords had lands in ireland but they preferred to live in england where many of them built more palacial pads.The Butlers were a mixed irish and english family that stayed in ireland though they were important they only ruled a part of ireland a signficant part of ireland but just apart.Denmark would be similar in that its a small country about the same size ,but denmark has been a kingdom of its own for much longer ,whereas ireland has never been a unified kingdom for more than a few decades.
    Lastly Kilkenny is just a town really ,its called a city because of its historical significance and because cities were smaller in the middle ages

    Spent an incredible 47 days recovering in Ireland after a car accident back in 2013. I stayed at the Bridge View Bed & Breakfast which is on Johns Quay, right down the road from Matt the Millers (red pub on the corner at :35). Great video guys and glad you enjoyed your time there. Where are you guys originally from?
