That was absolutely amazing my friend. One of my favourite songs of all time. Had the original single of At Seventeen 50 years ago, and discovered this on the B side. Janis' live rendition on the OGWT is gut wrenching. Well done to you! I can't play guitar like this, but often sing this song acapela, with no lyric sheet. As you said, the song is very unusual in structure.

I first encountered this song when listening to Nina Simone cover it at the montreux festival in 1976, but I fell in love with the original by Janis Ian too. This is a great cover, and while I do like hearing covers by young people my age, I think it doesn't emotionally hit as hard as when someone who's lived a lot more of their life sings it. Great Work!

I think I heard the song way back then but it didn't strike much of a chord at that time. But when I heard it just before I made the video it kind of knocked me sideways. The lyrics coupled with the descending chord sequence made me determined to learn it. I went in and was knocked out good and proper, however, when they got their instruments inside me, they found it too complicated and risky to proceed with Saturday staffing, so they didn’t. I’m now experiencing all the post op effects without the benefits☹️ I should have taken my Uke into the hospital, then they’d be sorry! 🤪🤪
