Best short I've seen in a long time. I nearly pissed myself laughing at the end when the Ton Up boy wakes up and the bird is off on his bike. Got to love the puddle of oil next to the Mercedes as he is looking out the window, that is spot on.
I bought my 1958 Norton Dominator 99 cafe racer in 1969 when I was 19 for £100. It was just like the bike in this film. I used to see it every night leaving the factory where I worked as an apprentice and I thought I just had to have that bike,it was the most awesome motorcycle I had ever seen.I sold my lambretta sx200 and bought the Norton. I was so chuffed with the bike, the noise, the speed and the way it looked I'm sure I would never have sold it although it nearly killed me.
The sounds and sights brought it all back hard. Nothing growls thru the gears more sweetly than a well tuned Norton! Luckily they are still a somewhat regular sight. At least in the good riding areas. That Benz and the bird both seemed expensive propositions, as the delightful film proved. Loved it!
The Rocker, Eddie Tudor-Pole, is an old Punk from a band call "Ten pole Tudor". And the Tudor part of his name? He's related to Henry VII, Henry VIII, Edward VI, Queen Mary and Elizabeth I!
Fastback 750 Commando ? Just like the one I had. Then 810 Dunstall conversion, Stellite tipped valves and Quaife 5 sp Box. 92 deg overlap, Re-profiled new cam then 105 Deg. 20 T front sprocket. Pistons, rings then blue print re-build. Boyer ign. Bloody all sorts. !!. Went OK.
Next to the BSA A65, the Norton Commando is the most beautiful motorcycle in the world! And the most beautiful car in the world is the Mercedes Pagoda! Both this so cool short film to see and especially to hear, it does not get better!
ok, I bought a 1961 Big Valve Super Rocket two years ago and fitted it with narrower mudguards, flatter handlebars and a duplex brake. Very cool bike with a great sound!!!I've been driving an SL for 25 years, albeit an R107 (380SL). Unfortunately, I can't afford a Pagoda.@@geoffreycarson2311
Thanks for putting this up! That was a real nice break. Then again, it reminds me that I do love those old corker helmets and that I sorely miss mine with its black and red concentric stripes. Someone stole it off my grubby old Norton N15CS back in the '90s. I suppose that if I spot it some day on the road, things may suddenly go rapidly and shockingly tragic for its wearer and bereaved family. But that's enough of that...Happy thoughts! Really, thanks again, or rather: cheers!
BRILIANT FILM ,1960 , S ? REMINDS ME OF THE TIME I frighten a man lighting road side lights on road works and he shouted at me ,so I rode up the line of lights he had just done ,and with my foot on my crash bards knocked them all over so he had to do them all again , sorry mate . rest in peace . Is that the Black wall tunnel or Dartford one ? I remember it well . Hats off to your DAD and you should be proud . The ACE OF SPADES AND THE 59 CLUB . Love the MERC .
@jasonlajoie i think the statement was one of loving jest. A honda simply runs all the time while the beloved Norton occasionally has....troubles...shall we say?
Unusual and enjoyable film, but for the time being implied, the Commando is a bit late, should have been a Dominator, A10, or pre unit Bonnie, something from the late 50's-early 60's. I'm a British bike nut, but it's a shame he chose a CX do be so disdainful towards. Probably THE best and most reliable plodder Japan ever produced and built to do exactly what the Commando was built for, a job they both performed admirably well, except the CX starts, even in the wet, believe me I've ran both!!
@@SpeedTriple59 yeah I guess a CX500 dispatch courier bike that passed 1,000,000 miles a decade ago is crap. But then again Brit Bikes sure know about toilets as they just plain gave up on innovation (adding an e-start to a 1979 T140, or even an 850 Commando that added 30lbs and didn't function reliably certainly doesn't count)
I did one better in traffic at a stop light. Instead of paying attention to my bike and the light changing I was ogling the pretty girl in the car beside me,I decided to wave Yeah..I used my left hand..the bike snapped forward and in a panic I grabbed the front brake lever, the bike nose-dived,the rear wheel came off the ground and I fell over to the road and the bike landed on top of me uggh!!! DOHHHH!!! I couldn't get out of there fast enough and find a place to go and hide my embarrassment! Haha!! Awesome short film
It had a Honda with a single sided swingarm too, which gave me the sense that he was feeling dated. Him and the other cafe guy weren't exactly young. It had an air of "fading culture" to me.
In '67 a T120 cost $1,300, that is $9,000 today. You paid cash back then. Used bikes were barely worth a nickel, and lastly many may have been stolen bikes re-stamped.
I was a dispatch rider and used a trident for a few uears upset the purist but it worked for me for years and looked good , still ride a bike bike today its always in ya blood ya cant fake it
He shagged her in the hotel and woke up to find his bike stolen. it was bloody unreliable anyway.... stalled at the lights and required constant tinkering with a screwdriver, typical British classic. Expensive shag though eh!
Edward Tudor Pole is the man! He is an icon! Like very much to see him again in this short film!
The way He looks at that cx500 with disgust is funny... as those little Hondas are an excellent base for a real nice Café build
HATE 😂lol But That Was Back then.g
This is one of the best shirt films i have seen in I cant even remember ...
This film sums up almost everything many of us love about riding.
Best short I've seen in a long time. I nearly pissed myself laughing at the end when the Ton Up boy wakes up and the bird is off on his bike. Got to love the puddle of oil next to the Mercedes as he is looking out the window, that is spot on.
Love it, can't wait to show my buddy who used to have a double garage full of old British bikes.

This is my Dads film, very proud :)
so you should be it's great, made me smile.
+MissBelleWallace Is there a better quality version available?
+MissBelleWallace i love your dad...what a movie....respect
how your dad film the riding scene without a go pro? ._.
Miss belle Wallis were you in los angles in burbank2013 with a jaguar need rack bushings.you were arciving old rocker stuff.
I have the same bike and just came across this film...BRILLIANT!!!! Thank you and you dad:)
Well filmed professional so what else love ❤️ the riding so nothing I can add !!Let the good times roll it’s not going to be forever,if only it was,

Old school forever
Wow ... this one is the coolest cafe - racer short films iv seen yet... Lol
I know wtf

Excellently made and totally enjoyed watching. Gonna pass this round all me mates in Germany 😎
I wish I saw this in hi-res! Stunning movie!
Too bad Joe Strummer couldn't have at least made a cameo in this. Still miss you, Joe.
Would love to ride in the tunnel that long with my cafe racer. Always find riding in tunnels fascinating.

Couldn't have been made in the 60's. Cx500 Honda at the light wasn't available until 1978.
You have to love this.
Love the sound of those Classic British pipes.
At about 2.16 is that the the junction of the A4 where it was sprayed "good morning lemmings ? "
@jasonlajoie i think the statement was one of loving jest. A honda simply runs all the time while the beloved Norton occasionally has....troubles...shall we say?

Eddie Tudor Pole! Wunderbar!
Yes, Eddie is a cool dude!
thats ediie tenpole, off ten pole tudor and tammara beckwith.
Do you know the french comics "Joe Bar Team" ?
This is the perfect balance between function over form, and form over function.
Polish up a pair of AMAL's for the CX, get it stalling in traffic too..
Tout le charme du café racer !!
Love it... thanks for posting
felicitaciones, se capta perfecto la esencia de esta tribu urbana.
Mr Tudorpole, Bring back Tenpole Tudor, they were great ?
bring back the good times
Get a bike
Como me encanta este video 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'enjoy this film but I saw name Joe Strummer- Clash vocalist and I'm wondering what is this? Who realizated it and in which year?
Good to see Eddie Kidd in better times.
bhutka which one was Eddie? The talkative one in the cafe?
@@MrHarleyoldfart Eddie is the one driving the 4x4 towards the end of the film.
@@Mark-xw3vg Thank you, i'll have another look.
08:10 why is she shifting gears with an automatic transmission?
But her car had a clutch pedal....
I stand corrected had another look, was distracted by her legs... (Grin)
Lukas Maximilian 🤣🤣🤣
Ididn't see a clutch pedal, saw the auto shifter though.
@@MrHarleyoldfart I only saw the legs.
Great Film, captures the spirit of an icon- but could u please upload a HD version- now that would be awsome!
HARLEY DAVIDSON 😂😂😂NOT IN THE SAME LEAGUE M8 as a NORTON OR VINCENT BRITISH IRON g
Thats me at my first major intersection about twice a week, sans hot girl watching me desperatly kicking over my bike.
Was that crap on his grots when he got out of bed at the end? I think that is the singer from 10 Pole Tudor, Swords of a thousand men.
Did look like he'd shit himself.
5:35 the best angle view of the bike for me.
Kind of ironic how the CX500 that appears around 4:50 is now being used to create some really cool cafe racer builds
CX 500 will never be cool...Media are dictating they are..But they're shite.
CX500 are really cool bikes when you modify them because they were ugly from factory; you just had to customize them into cafe racers!
@@SpeedTriple59 yeah I guess a CX500 dispatch courier bike that passed 1,000,000 miles a decade ago is crap. Wow, @2:25 he's wearing the exact same pair of goggles I found yesterday in the storage box of a 1981 650 Maxim I've been reviving.

Awesome short film
why at 8:36 isn't black and white ?
Good question. Maybe a little foreshadowing/hint of the end?
+Kevin Ruzi Maybe he's a fan of Lyndsay Anderson's "If".
+Kevin Ruzi brain is tricking us
that was special color moment
Love my 1978 Yamaha xs650 (the European looking one not the special cruiser type)
It had a Honda with a single sided swingarm too, which gave me the sense that he was feeling dated. Him and the other cafe guy weren't exactly young.
It had an air of "fading culture" to me.
Didn't cx500's have shaft drive, i thought that was what he was looking at.
classic short-the norton-the rocker-the cafe "right"-the beautiful girl,the mercedes pagoda-the twist and the fab eddie-a british tarantino:-))
Ten Pole Tuder? THAT Edward Tuder Pole ? Joe Strummer? wow. Thanks!
pretty sure the original cafe racers were 16 - 20 years old, not 36 - 40
16 to 20 year old grow in to 36 to 40 year olds as long they don't crash.
Excelente video. Saludos desde Córdoba Argentina
Isn't that Eddie Tenpole Tudor in the main role?
Iwas Cafe Racer at age of 17 18 great days in SW London Norton Dommie 99 600 still ride now after all these years Suzuki SV650 !😂
what about the engines if their really old? cleaning will be sufficient for it to be great again?
I’m sure that’s eddy kid driving at the end
theres nothing better than a hot girl in leathers ,its so cool to see eddie kidd he was my hero back in the day and he still is my hero cool
Great film!
Wicked. Great vid.
Just started a CL360 build a few days ago.. this just confirmed it's completion.
excellent film thank you for sharing
price's have rocketed now, your looking at about £7'000 for a half decent T120 in England, ive seen them jump to £11'000 lol
Thank God I was a rocker!
Thank god I still am
Can’t tell ya how many times that stalling bit has happened to me. So humbling and so embarrassing!
Great short movie awesome
This is brilliant i live around London and ride motorbikes
NOBODY could keep up with the cx500 and gt550 death wish dispatch riders in London back in the day.
Nice. It made me smile.
i think, this is the singer of Tempole Tudor
Yeah my G15csr has the same effect on women then I select first gear and the clutch drags and stalls at the lights
Norton Commando....The best one !
That was hilarious! ;)

Wild thing... you makes my hart siiing, you makes everything groooving,, wild thing........, yeah!

Reminds me of the motorcycle run in Rumblefish
3:34 Hands up if you did the same with your bike :D
I was a dispatch rider and used a trident for a few uears upset the purist but it worked for me for years and looked good , still ride a bike bike today its always in ya blood ya cant fake it
at least once a month..fuel nowadays sucks..
I certainly have. 1/12 turns out on my BSA Royal stars concentric !
Bellissimo!! 😎
He wants to keep away from the posh bird in the Merc. Not only does she look high maintenance, she's a bike thief!!!
Tamara Beckwith is quite stunning
Oh, I'm sooo gonna buy a norton one day! Best add I've ever seen by the way. :P
No. Cause a man that loves his bike keeps it in best shape.
Awesome, good fun!!!
Whats up with the back of his shorts? 9:55
I don't get it, did she steal his bike at the end? Or did he dream most of the film?
He shagged her in the hotel and woke up to find his bike stolen. it was bloody unreliable anyway.... stalled at the lights and required constant tinkering with a screwdriver, typical British classic. Expensive shag though eh!
he got a free Merc though
love everything about this video! dam gorgeous blond too😍
Why is it out of focus?
Really enjoyed please make some more awesome !!!
top film, i enjoyed it
Chick's also dig a movie that's in focus.
