Obama care also changed a lot of what they were allowed to do or that's what they said was the reason.. we had great health care starting out. And then it changed 😟 in 2015-2016

When you get another order from Walmart get some Pedialyte. It's not just for kids. They may have powder packets like your drink mix. Either way that will put fluids in you.
I'm feeling better only took 4 weeks.…i slept a lot too and felt terrible..i wish i was closer i would run you around..after i retired i did some home health..was called home instead..we shopped..cleaned .bathed..some cooking...sat with people ...felt good to help people...take care and feel better!

Dale if you contact your local churches they may have means for someone to come in and clean your house and maybe even do a little laundry for you. If you have a Council on Aging in your area, they are a great source of information and help in my area in MI, they have transportation to and from doctors for a nominal charge. Make sure you are getting enough fluids, too. Hope you get better with each day 😊
Fight and keep fighting I was in your position it took me 2 years to get better not saying it's going to take you that long 😢take as many naps as you need but get up as often as you can 🙏 praying you get back to your normal self soon Yea as a home care nurse they use the supplies that you have on hand don't refuse the help
I watch Bob often 👍 we had an unheard of 9 inches a few days ago and a lot of it is still out there . I never had an appetite increase with the Prednisone but my body reacts odd to drugs . That's pathetic what aides do these days , we did it all 💯 cook , clean , bathe , food shop , doctor appointments , just not all at once . Some patients were 2-3 times a week for 3-4 hours a day. Make a pot of chicken soup and just switch up the 🥪😂 I don't fight sleep it's hard for me to sleep well so when I get tired I lay down so don't fight it as your body heals when you are sleeping , get all that you can 👍💯💯💯
My mom takes it (Bretzri ) because she has oncology. Also you have to clean it weekly. I run part of it under the water for her. The actual device should be kept safely away from water(when you're taking apart for cleaning)(they should have included a pathlet on properly using it. And the longer book. When it is in the red zone you can't use it anymore. The yellow zone means you need to order a new one. Also you need to prime it they provide extra puffs; and if I recall two primes after cleaning it(reassembly). When you open it you mark on the box when you opened it. You have 3 months from the opening or after it's nearing red. This is not medical advice I'm not a doctor or a nurse. Just I know this a bit because I help out with it.

Yep, I have watched Bob Wells. I'm another old retired nurse. And yes, we used to actually offer care in homes. Sometimes recovery is slow. But stick with it. Sometimes when I have no appetite I will order up some vegetable juice for a meal or two. Nice light and tho a bit odd, is good for you, without being high in carbs. I look at it as medicine. If you can stomach it maybe protein shakes? I found my walker to be initially difficult as the upper body work was something I wasn't used to. But we will always pray for you.
Normally they don't bring bathing 🧼 supplies, they always use the patients . No chance of cross contamination 👍 we gave bed bath's if they couldn't use the shower 🚿👍
I got to where I couldn't breath back in '21 went in and it was COPD. Now O2 concentrator, nebulizer pump for 4 times a day, an inhaler steroid, and the rescue. I know that the rescue inhaler can cause shaking in the arms and hands. Good luck man!! Hang in there I have been tired since I came down with COPD it's awful i am used to being the big muscular type. Worked hard. But at least I am not bedridden. Take it 1 day at a time. Gotta take care of Stewie and have movie time. ✌️🐈

I took a shower when I wasn’t doing so well and wished someone was actually waiting for me on the other side of the door to help me dry off and get dressed. The struggle is real. Take it slow and easy and you can do it. Get a chair ready to sit down to catch breath. Everything is going to be okay. I don’t like to see you struggle and I would be a good helper if I was nearby too. The simplest things matter. Take it easy and slow. You will build up strength soon.

Prayers for you still. My husband with his COPD has a nebulizer, Symbicort that he takes with Spiriva, and rescue inhaler. He was on his oxygen last night. Not much fun for him either. Lots of stuff going around.
Hi Dale, Donna here from Canada. A really good recipe to help your breathing and chest congestion. Recipe: buy ginger root, spring onions and brown sugar. Slice the ginger root, 1/2 inch about 4 slices put in 2 cups of water, put in a pot, add chopped spring onions and add 1/2 tsp of brown sugar. Boil it in the pot for 15 mins. Remove ginger and onions from pot, niw pour in a coffee mug and sip on it. A doctor gave me the recipe and it works wonders! You will feel alot better and breath easier. Tastes good as well. Walmart can deliver, ingredients are cheap as well. Give it a try. Feel better soon Donna

There’s this one lady I work with she has rsv and she keeps coming to work sick. I know people need money but I think if you’re really sick you should stay home. Oh well, you take care. suggest you call the senior center (most likely same place that does meals on wheels), they should know how to put you in public transportation for seniors. They usually have vans that have a lift or able to have a wheelchair, but also can take "normal' people, fares are usually cheap. They could perhaps take you to your pain clinic, and save having someone taking time off of work. Good luck
Take it easy, listen to your body, if 9:10 it needs a nap take I'm 9:15 one. Eat when you're hungry, but stay hydrated. Hopefully you'll feel better soon. Stay warm
I’m so sorry about home health. My dad has home health come in & both therapy & nursing they are very on top of things. I would look into another home health agency bc they need to make you a plan & help you build your strength back. Our home health nurse even orders things my father needs & has it delivered right to our house so it’s here when they come. This flu season has been difficult. We caught RSV & it’s been very difficult & my dad was hospitalized so he’s still weak & very tired from it. Hang in there & def look into asking for a different agency to work with you for yiur home health needs. Praying for you

My husband came down very sick before Christmas, I had Garlic supplements on hand..I immeduatly started him on Garlic pills and a tablespoon of honey 3 times a day( 1 garlic, 1 tablespoon of honey 3 times a day) ..by day 6 he was so much better. I have used that with a tooth infection with added cinnamon and it knocked it out within a week. If youre allergic to any of that DO NOT take it. But for us it really helped. Sorry you're having such a hard time, really sucks. If you have not had the pneumonia shot get it and the tetanus shot as it has the whooping cough in it also. There the only two I take, had the pneumonia shot three times, you're only supposed to get it once, I told my Dr if they wouldn't give it to me for the fourth time when I turn 80, I would go to Mexico and get it. Cold up here in NCPA also so you are not alone there. We have a transportation system here you can sign up for and they will pick you up and take you shopping or to medical appointments free of charge, I haven't signed up for or used it yet, but maybe someday and no doubt when we need it, it will be gone. These young people weren't raised with the same morals and sense of respect we were, so it seems they really don't care or respect us old folks. Take care and get better brother, just a matter of time.

It’s very hard for a person to get sick especially when they’re older and living alone. I understand exactly how you feel Dale. Home health was just a big disappointment to me also. It was more aggravating to me than helpful. You really need to go back to the dr. I hope you can get seen. You’ll figure it out.😊😺🙏
Prednisone sometimes affects your mood, I certainly did me, I felt almost giddy, and very positive. As well as helping your breathing. Make sure your care team knows you are taking Pepto.
It takes a good amount of oxygen to digest food. Sip on water too. I just went thru this. I ended up with 5 blood transfusions and ended up having abdominal surgery to stop bleeding I was having. I am 2 months out and just feeling a tad bit stronger. Can walk across a room better now. It's been a long haul. I am terrified of getting a virus, I'm not strong enough. I got a flu shot but probably need more, rsv, pneumonia etc.
Chicken broth is very good for when you’re sick and full of good nutrients. Vitamin C , echinacea, vitamin D & K2 ALL HELP fight the flu. Even a probiotic can help . Get tons of Rest.

THEY give very minimal care -- no supplies and charge your medicare as much as they can ! Ridiculous for all who are in need of help !!

There the only two I take, had the pneumonia shot three times, you're only supposed to get it once, I told my Dr if they wouldn't give it to me for the fourth time when I turn 80, I would go to Mexico and get it. Cold up here in NCPA also so you are not alone there. We have a transportation system here you can sign up for and they will pick you up and take you shopping or to medical appointments free of charge, I haven't signed up for or used it yet, but maybe someday and no doubt when we need it, it will be gone. These young people weren't raised with the same morals and sense of respect we were, so it seems they really don't care or respect us old folks. Take care and get better brother, just a matter of time.

My prayers are with you ,I’m not a DR but I would think you should be a little better by now they need to test you for COVID and redo X-rays seems like things are getting worse .I so wish I lived near you I would do my best to help you as you so need it. It’s very hard for a person to get sick especially when they’re older and living alone. I understand exactly how you feel Dale. Home health was just a big disappointment to me also. It was more aggravating to me than helpful. You really need to go back to the dr. I hope you can get seen. You’ll figure it out.😊😺🙏

Prednisone sometimes affects your mood, I certainly did me, I felt almost giddy, and very positive. As well as helping your breathing.
Make sure your care team knows you are taking Pepto.

It takes a good amount of oxygen to digest food. Sip on water too. I just went thru this. I ended up with 5 blood transfusions and ended up having abdominal surgery to stop bleeding I was having. I am 2 months out and just feeling a tad bit stronger. Can walk across a room better now. It's been a long haul. I am terrified of getting a virus, I'm not strong enough. I got a flu shot but probably need more, rsv, pneumonia etc.
I don't think it is the flu, more of a respiratory virus, I am going through it too.

Chicken broth is very good for when you’re sick and full of good nutrients. Vitamin C , echinacea, vitamin D & K2 ALL HELP fight the flu. Even a probiotic can help . Get tons of Rest.
I have noticed that the older I get the longer it takes to recover.
It sounds like you're slowly getting better. Lots of people are getting sick these days. Get better soon.
Maybe some fluids with electrolytes might help like Propel. Helped me.
