Hey Bill awesome action thanks for sharing! I used to fish gotcha plugs on the east coast so this was a blast from the past! Congrats on a great outing - tight lines my friend! Captain Zac
Looked like another great trip down to North Carolina. Lots of different species. Those rocks looked dangerpus at the end there. Glad you didnt get hurt too bad. Happy Fathers Day to you and Mike!
@@BillMikesAnglingAdventures Turn the rod around in your hand so your thumb is pointed to the butt end instead of the tip. Then you can point the tip down to the water and use almost all wrist to get the action. It's a little weird at first having to switch the grip again when you have a fish but you get used to it and it saves the shoulder big time.
What a cool trip! I've gotten lots of blues (in the northeast), but only a couple Spanish macks...cool fish. After seeing your steelhead videos, you must've felt naked in NC without a wool hat and waders 😄 I use old sneakers on the rocks (or studded wading shoes if there's black or green wet rock). I haven't worn flip flops of crocs in years. ...and as usual: NO SKUNKIN' !
thanks man ✌ a little too warm for me down there but a nice change of pace - have to bring some studded shoes next time - still havnt healed up yet lol
Great trip to unwind and relax. So many different fish species coming off that pier including that one guitar fish, that was interesting to see. Seeing 2 fish go for the same lure is odd but it’s possible fishing a school of predatory fish. The bruise at the end didn’t look good, lesson learned. Those boulders looked dangerous no matter the footwear you have on, glad it wasn’t worse than that. Wishing you and Mike a Happy Father’s Day and hoping you’re enjoying the day with family and friends.
Take the barrel swivel off your line and attach your leader straight to your line cause the swivel causes bubbles and spanish and blues will cut you off more they’ll strike at the bubbles
I'm looking to go fishing salt water today ( i live inland) can't decide if i wanna do a pier. Considering flounder season just started piers will probably be packed. But don't know of any good beaches or shore type places.
I was wondering how much is a fishing license in North Carolina?? I'm going down there April 18th for a few days. I'm from Western New York too. Thanks!
nice multi-species action, the spadefish are my favorite, the bigger ones fight really hard!
thanks man ✌ they did give up a good fight - guys said they are good to eat too
You tore it up on the gotcha plug!!! Good way to make friends on the pier is giving away spanish. Enjoyed it 👍
Thanks 👍 the guys all wanted them and the spades - must be good eats

What kind of line and leader are you using when throwing the gotcha plugs?
i used 20 lb powerpro braid and 60lb big game leader - anything less i get bit off
“Shark bite” leg wound. Cooler story 🤣
i did tell that to a few guys i know lol
Take the barrel swivel off your line and attach your leader straight to your line cause the swivel causes bubbles and spanish and blues will cut you off more they’ll strike at the bubbles
ok - good tip ✌
Blue fish fresh are good to eat
i heard that before 👍 not good frozen

👍 i get into some off the beach near the inlet on twister tails
my friend, when you fish a gotcha do you constantly throw or do you wait until you see some fish.
i just constantly cast
Did that big ray (manta?) get caught so it could be identified?
no not that day
